Hello, I have a HTC Touch HD (Blackstone), which originally came with Windows Mobile 6.1. Here on XDA, it was upgraded to WinMo 6.5. Now there is a Android ROM on Internal Memory (NAND), thanks to my big friend fagyi.
On that ROM, only wi-fi, 2G and 3G don't work, because he had to make a new kernel only for NAND (before he made kernels for the SD card, and people ran Android by running an executable called "HAReT", which many of you may know from other WM devices, like the HD2, which is the subjected phone sucessor)
The kernels for the SD card are working perfectly, with all functions of the phone enabled. What I'm looking is for someone ready for a challenge:
Either fixing his NAND kernel or porting the SD kernel to NAND. I think porting the SD kernel would be better, but if fixing the NAND one is easier, then it's okay.
If anyone could help, I would be very pleased, because fagyi is alone on this fight and has a lot of troubles porting from SD to NAND...
If you want to help, I will give you the links to kernels and let you talk with fagyi.
Thanks for reading and possibly helping,

Look dude, I asked for help, not for a comment like yours. Why would android not run ok? The phone has better specs than the G1 (first android phone)
Well, now it's on the news! We just need help so if anyone could help I would apreciate...

No, not as far as i know.
Reported the thread to be moved, pls follow the rules and open such threads at Q&A and not at development.
Read this if you don't know what should be at development and what not.

I quoted it, because i also answered the question he wrote.
Why did you quote the OP?
Was that really necessary?
In my opinion you have to be a perfect poster before you can start giving advice.

Was that sarcasm? There are rules for a reason and they should be followed. Tectas hasn't done anything wrong if he has quoted the OP.
Yes, that was sarcasm.

Look, this is a question fitting this topic: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1561533
Is anybody working on it, isn't really a question about development process or product he's working on (or he missed to say it, then I sure will apologize), no matter how nice the feature is he is asking for, that's a feature request for the ROM he is using (and only for that one) or a question for Q&A for my opinion.

You're right!
I have to apologize.
It wasn't really a question about development process I'm working on.
Cause I'm not a Kernel developer. I'm just a dumb user.
So please Mod - delete this - close this - or what ever is necessary.
Maybe one of you guys could post this at the right place or give a developer a hint about that nice feature.
Sorry for the inconvenience. Next time I boot up my brain before I start posting or open a new Thread.
Not the right place, but an interesting question indeed. Lowveld is the kernel master over here maybe someone should PM him, since this is open source he could eventually add this really nice feature to his kernels. The other option is the Virtuous team but IMO they are not very responsive...
Thank for sharing anyway!
Already made a repost of the op at reaper^^

I just ported it to the Evo3D GSM and after I got the Desire HD implementation done, I will come around to the Desire S and see what I can do. Expect it soon. (measured in valve time)
Thank you!
That's much more than I expected.

WOW, i saw something very similar for the Evo 3D months ago, made by bponury. I made a request thread too, but since the dev didn't release the kernel source, it wasn't ported here. I really hope you get it working soon

Really nice feature!

IMO
Used it on both aokp and CM9
Lovely killer feature but
Eats too much battery and if suspected of causing device lockups
Swyped from my DesireS
Please can you confirm, if Sweep2Wake works only CM9 kernel or another too.
And which ?
Thanks.
Yes it does, the latest version was released with and without it, check out the CM9 thread

Thanks, but where is this CM9 thread.

Hi All,
Its goood to be here !!
I have just ordered a HTC One s (Ville) international/UK black beauty and am already quite excited and overwelmed to see the kind of dev support this device gets, which is one of important deciding factor for me , over One XL. It will be few days before I'd get the device in my hands, but as a sucker for flashing custom roms/kernels that I'm, already read quite a few posts on this forum.
Now, to the important topic. I'm currentyl using Samsung Galaxy S2 and it has quite a few kernel options that have capability of Dual-boot i.e. You can have two different roms at the same time and u get to choose at boot time which one to boot. This is quite handy feature as it allowed me to have a stable rom and an experimental/aosp/cm9 rom as secondary rom which helped me in testing it for devs.(Siyah, Dorimanx etc are few those kernels)
I was wondering if its possible to HTC Ville too ? I don't find any thread discussing about this, so I don't know whether its something not thought about earlier or its something thats impossible for HTC device. I'm new to HTC devices so I can't say much about it. If we could have Dual boot rom then we can have best of both worlds- One stable Sense rom and other AOSP/Cm9/cm10/MIUI rom.
In case its something obivious and I wasted someone's time on this, i'm sorry!!! But definately something to thought about and work on if there's a possibility of that.
Moved To Q&A
Please post all questions in the Q&A section
Anybody ??
I'd also love the ability to duel boot, but I don't know if it will be possible on the One S.

search for "dual boot" (lite version) on play store. I have a phone with a sdcard and there the app saves second rom to sd and boots it.

Nice to know , but we don't have an external SD ..
Dual boot kernel not possible
I have done some research on this and talked to some devs active in sgs2 forum. And its a BAD NEWS for us as we cannot have a dual boot kernel without external SD card support.
The main reason is for any dual boot kernel or application, it first need to create a new partition in the storage and swap space. Till now devs have only implemented this capability in external SD.
maybe when we will have S-OFF developers will be able to repartition the sd-card and then make room for more partitions and more space for data

I'm making this thread for people to share their craziest moment with their android device such like bricking and stuff. For beginning I will start with my CRAZY MOMENT.
So, I was wondering If I could Flash a ROM for stock kernel and locked bootloader on my Xperia Neo V. So I started searching and found the Codename 9 ROM for locked bootladers. I was happy seeing good posts and telling that It was working like a charm. I downloaded the rom and putted it to SD. So I did the all kind of staff before Flashing a rom such like Davlik Cache, Wipe etc. Then flashed the rom but I noticed that it Flashed so fast like 10-15 secs. Then, thinking ''Oh Yeah baby, a new F*cking rom" but the only thing I managed to do it was a bootlop. I started panicking and stuff like "F*ck, what I did, I shouldn't do that. Please god help and stuff '' (LOOOL). But finaly I just flashed back the stock rom and was so happy. Then I had an incredibly bad headache but I got over. (Now thinking to Flash CM9. But it's more dangerous LOOOL)
So, this was my BAD EXPERIENCE with my Android device. I know it's a common issue and many people had it.
Have fun sharing your bad experience and DO NOT DO BAD THINGs TO YOUR PHONE
Same **** as you had!! Flashed CM7 and also got f*cked in my arse by panic... Got a bootloop

I'm relatively new to rooting, flashing funny zip's and stuff like that. I managed to do that with my previous HTC Desire and One V. Now it got a Nexus 4 and started with unlock bootloader, root and install a custom kernel. Looked similar to the the procedure on the HTC devices, but it ended up in a boot loop. I just thought "f***, i bricked my 3 days old Nexus and have to go back to the slow One V!"
Then I found the Nexus Toolkit

Hey Everyone.
Can we please populate this thread with all the versions of roms especially for the N8020.
I have a question for the Dev's though... how hard is it to customize existing N801X roms into N802X roms?
There doesn't seem to be a whole lot of choice for us who are using the LTE / 4G version of this tablet!
I have been looking for the same thing.

plz support us
This is a good idea. Including the Verizon SCH-i925 lte version.
Its really a big shame IMO as the lack of development on the LTE version has really made the device a little boring and uninspired...
Don't get me wrong though; as a commercial product its actually quite sound and is very stable in my experience but just boring for someone who really got a taste for flashing when they owned a Tab 7"... that device was saved by the development in the beginning and really had some awesome enhancements by the time I lost my device and stopped checking in..
Anyway all I have at the moment is this one;
Darkman [ROM][STOCK][4.1.2][BMC3] ★★N8020★★ Stock Rooted Busybox Deodexed (CWM) [12/05/2013]
And;
emptynick's thread asking for a wish list of ROM's for the n8020
That's it though...
Anyway the second one is a newish one and so maybe someone is going to take on the job for us and get some stuff ported at the very least.. who knows

Could somebody tell me, what changes have to be done to get roms running on the n8020 (wifi+lte). In case Ubuntu Touch I already tried to modify the install script to get it installing with the different partition layout. Installing is fine, but it freezes at the first samsung boot screen.

I'm no dev, but it seems like the kernels are quite different in android roms. Maybe the same in linux?
Need to post something to share my work at developers section.

Hi there,
I will install the CM 10.1 from this post: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2398729. I'm a little bit new in the root of Android tablet.
What is the "Tablet UI" added there are few days ?

Hi All,
I have installed Viper4android and everything in the driver status screen appears to be working but changing presets does not appear to change the audio in anyway whatsoever.
Does anyone have this working on a K1? if so would you be kind enough to post what you did in case I missed something,
Regards
Richard

Did you change SELinux mode? Or is it set to permissive? Otherwise V4A won't work.
Thats way outdated with SE Linux, at least for Viper without any additional Mods like Dolby. Just use Arise https://forum.xda-developers.com/android/software/r-s-e-sound-systems-auditory-research-t3379709
You can look at it like a better Viper since the guys are optimizing **** out of it. It's more or less flash and done. Just use Version 2.3.3 at least that's what i flashed on my Shield, booted up and everything works out of the Box and is preinstalled. I know that 2.4 is out, you can try that as well but i can't provide any personal recommendation for that.

It's 2.4, everything is in there, but I would suggest using 2.3.3 it's one version prior to 2.4.
I know for sure 2.3.3 works because I'm using it, but you can also try 2.4, I just haven't had the chance to update to 2.4 myself since it came out a few days ago.

You mean Viper Profiles? Tweak and Setprop are only for modifying the Build.prop, which is not needed in most time. Honestly I've never needed it, not on my Nexus 6, 6P, 5 or Shield. But if you are interested you can read more on it here https://plus.google.com/u/0/111333653880673138633/posts/ZmyiFwiymrc?sfc=false
You can also join the G+ Group here which I would highly recommend https://plus.google.com/u/0/communities/104675617308252943432 because of the various Information found there like this https://docs.google.com/document/d/1g3GygwnQxNZFrWomlAb3Gh-oLCRnsJM9b7cPr0egN0Q/edit :good:
For Viper Profiles you just have to Copy them in the Profiles Folder in /Viper Folder on your SD Card and load them through the App
