hello all;
i'm trying to root my ChaCha 2.3.5 || 1.57.415.4
first of all I tried to unlock boatloader via htcvde.com but it's not working coz i have 1.57.415.4 whilst the version on htcdev is 1.57.415.3
I think i need to downgrade ... but the question is how ???!?!
PLEASE help a.s.a.p friends
No need, just skip the first step, i did too. Apparently if you had an OTA update, no need to update in the first step

yeah tat's rite, just skip that step and follow the rest... you should be good to go.. good luck

Could anyone help me by giving me few steps towards doing this? Once I complete is successfully I will edit this and post a full, detailed guided for anyone else looking to do the same thing.
What I have:
-HTC Sensation which has the latest Android update (never rooted, never changed from anything default)
-I downloaded the RUU 1.5... TMOUS
-I saw that I need to do a bootloader from HTCdev on my phone and Install Android SDK
Can anyone PLEASE give me a little better guide on what to do exactly?
Often people just say "its in the forums, here's a link" and the link will take me to a million other links and explanations. Very confusing and I wasn't able to find a good explanations for us noobs.
THANK YOU ALL!

Well it is very simple Imo... You need to get a gingerbread ruu and run it in windows nothing else... That should be enough

Thanks again!

JuopunutBear to S-OFF. Flash GB RUU
All you have to do is run the RUU. Make sure your PC has the appropriate drivers for your device and HTC Sync. I had to restore a few times using the stock 1.73.401.4 RUU for my Sensation XE, and that is all that I had installed. I can verify that root is not needed in my experience although I did have S-Off.
I hope this helps.
Don't need HTC Sync installed. Just need the drivers. Not sure if RUU comes with said drivers. Need to be S-OFF to downgrade hboot. ICS hboot is NOT compatible with GB (1.23 is, but that's not what's included with the latest RUUs).
Without S-OFF, you CANNOT RUU back to GB.
If it were so simple as flashing GB RUU, we wouldn't need JuopunutBear
downgrade is very complicated.
root the current ICS and install recovery
Juopunubear S-OFF (require htcdev unlock and root)
downgrade firmware to 1.17
flash GB rom or run GB RUU

STOP! More info please! Are you only rooted? Bootloader unlocked? S-OFF or S-ON?
If you are ONLY rooted, DO NOT follow the instructions on the link below....
Provide more info, THEN we can help!

Hi,
I've just rooted my htc one mini 4.2.2 before updating to 4.3 -_- (so i can't remove blinkfeed cause i get an error when i try to update)
I'm wondering how i can do that ? Do i have to unroot or can i bypass this error ?
After some searches :
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2598367
with dl links for the OTA file for 4.3
I could flash it with superCID "on"?
Or try the link before and update while in the system ?
Thanks
I'v followed the tuto before to get s-off and supercid (as i was s-ON). I had some difficulties but gaining root access by taping su in adb shell make it worked. I now have supercid and s-off but still can't install the OTA...
If i have well understand i should flash a stock rom before ? The fact is i didn't flash any rom i've just unlock the bootloader and root the device.
My build number is actually 1.32.401.2 and the thread i've followed to get supecid and s-off doesn't give this build number rom.
The dl links i've shown before points to an OTA file containing "1.32.401.2" in it's name so it may be compatible ? How can i trust those files as it's an 632Mb file (631.7) but the OTA is 630.55Mb . . .
OR,
I could directly flash the international 4.4 rom you gave in this thread : http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2665746 as my goal is having the most update system and sense (to remove blinkfeed) and be rooted to uninstall those f***ing gapps i don't want ?
It was much more easier with SGS3...
Hello friends help me??
Am having htc one x at&t.running on 4.0.4, now i want to install android 4.2!!!!, not rooted, no custom recovery
relocked
s-off
hboot- 1.14.0002
radio- 0.19as
1.can i unlock the bootloader in s-off condition??? Using htcdev???
2.can i install custom recovery?? In s-off??
Or guide me how to install 4.2 kitkat in fastboot mode without custom recovery ???
Please help me!!!
Thank you.
You can install recovery in S-off but first you need to unlock your bootloader, use your existing bootloaded unlock code received from HTC Dev.
Its always better to install ROM though recovery.
I have more then 3 unlock codes of HTC one X and HTC one M7. So I don't know how to find the correct one of HTC one X???
OR CAN I UNLOCK IT USING HTC DEV NOW?? WITH NEW PROCESS???

Yes you can unlock the bootloader and install a recovery while having s-off. But, you're confusing SIM unlocking with bootloader unlocking, they're two different things. You need to go to htcdev and unlock your bootloader, then you can install TWRP recovery, then you can install a custom ROM. Check out my Evita FAQ thread and my How-To Guide For Beginners thread, both links are in my signature.
PS. In future please perform a thorough search before creating a thread, it's the first rule of XDA. Your questions have been asked and answered millions of times before.
