How to debrand after S-OFF

Now that we have S-OFF how can we debrand our phones? Is it enough to flash the unbranded RUU? Or do we have to do it through recovery?
I would like to know this too, would like to remove the branding from my Sensation as well.
Download a custom rom.Any chance either of you can perform a backup in recovery and upload the recovery.img please
same querry i m on s off

How is that supposed to help in debranding the phone??
ok
I installed leedroid, based on europe unbranded rom on my tmobile. i knew it before hand that would not debrand my phone, even then i did it.
i then tried to install ruu for the same version. got smae error 130 (not specific for device).
I noticed that installing leedroid did not update my baseband.(radio)
Maybe i'll try installing radio and see if it works.
Guys if anyone has any idea kindly help! we dont wana pay $30 for getting an ulock code, if it can be done on our own
S-off done
Clockworkmod
Perm Root
SuperCID installed
Update: Changed baseband as well did not work
Ok
I think the SuperCID posted in the DEV section is not working.
Because in the HTC desire Z section here, there is a post on how to debrand the phone.
and its pretty simple:
1-S off
2-CID Off
Flash any unbranded RUU from PC and good to go!
I have SuperCID installed but when i Flash RUU it give error 130 (Incoorect RUU for the Device).
So i guess SUper CID is not doing what its supposed to do
Here you go guys, I wrote up a guide in the dev section:

Thanks alexp999. Is there any difference with the SuperCID method? Is having ENG H-BOOT better? Noob questions, I know....

I prefer not changing cid, then I don't have to keep backup for warranty purposes. My method also doesn't require root.
Eng hboot is only temporary as it gets overwritten with shipped hboot when you flash the ROM from the ruu. Eng is only used to bypass cid check.

[Q] do i have to do the cid thing?

hello.
i have sensation that is s-off and rooted.
now i want to unroot and i am confused.
i know that my phone came with 1.xx.401 firmware and i have same RUU.
now, do i really need to change to supercid?
RUU will remove revolutionary and CWM and i can do secureflag3 later, right?
i don't see the point in changig cids
thanx
The Super CID is needed to downgrade the HBOOT as Revolutionary changes it to a non-standard one. You can try it without Super CID but if it doesn't work then you'll need to use it. you can then change it back to your current one before running the S-ON command
i've done it without supercid with no problems!
my phone is now stock with s-on
thanx for help!
Wasn't sure if it would work or not, nice to know you don't need it for your own RUU

unrooting the ONE S

Hi
i just finished the process of rooting, unlocking and installing a new ROM. (T-Mobile phone)
i installed CWM-SuperSU-v0.95
and Ir2-1.78.401.2-DUO-ville.
all after changing the CIM to HTC__001.
now i want to install a ROM that has a Hebrew keyboard (do you know which one has it?).
i want to install a stock RUU (preferably one that can be updated now to sense 4.1).
but after restoring the stock recovery, every time i try to lock the bootloader - the phone boots directly to fdastboot and tells me that there is a system error, as soon as i unlock the bootloader - everything works again but the RUU does not install?
any ideas on how to relock the the bootloader?
thanks
Who still uses Hebrew 0-0

Hi I had no problems locking bootloader. I have a T-Mobile USA phone and tried to change CID to HTC__001, but it wouldn't install EURO RUU files. So I went ahead and changed HTC__001 to SuperCID, which is: 11111111 then I was able to install European RUU. Try changing your CID to 11111111
I checked my input languages and system languages and I do have many, even greek, but there is no Hebrew.
any idea why i can't re-lock the bootloader after CWM-SuperSU-v0.95 and Ir2-1.78.401.2-DUO-ville ?
or is it possible that to install an RUU with the bootloader unlocked?

If you are s-off you can flash the RUU_Ville_U_JB without changing CID .
Otherwise lock bootloader and flash RUU.

No these steps!
1. Unlock bootloader.
2. SuperCID 11111111.
3. S-OFF.
4. FLASH RUU.
DO NOT UPDATE OTA UPDATES WITH CID 11111111, THIS WILL BRICK YOUR PHONE!

[Q] Change CID to different than 11111111

Hi
I've just change my phone from HTC HD2 to HTC One S(S3). Unfortunately device which i bought is branded in orange. My question is how to change Orange CID to HTC__B25 ? I supose that procedure is thesame as a change CID to 11111111; i'm right ? Finaly i want to have a stock rom, stock recovery and OTA updates (without fear to make a brick after update to JB). Please help
P.S I would be grateful if someone write procedure step by step

With CID 11111111 you can install any rom.
In my case to update radio to the latest one, I flashed phone with RUU (having CID 1111111111), I got all OTA updates.
My radio now is up to date.
Now I'm on Pac Man 23.0.0 rom with latest radio, latest kernel, hboot 2.15, S-OFF, "Super"CID (1111111111).
Anyway you can update CID to any other, it's exactly the same as a change CID to SuperCID(1111111111).
Yep, Just in case.. I'm S4 user.

To change the CID on your phone you would have to be S-OFF, which is not currently possible on S3 devices. Sorry friend.
If your soff you can do it via a simple fastboot command.
First check existing:
Fastboot getvar all (or use cid instead of all)
Then change it:
Fastboot OEM writecid ........
Always 8 digits. Like HTC__001
Then reboot bootloader, get in fastboot again. Check it with the getvar command.
Know what you are changing to, and why.
Use at own risk!!!
