CNM Touchpad II (recovery mode problem) - Miscellaneous Android Development

Hi guys
Appreciate your work
I have CNM Touchpad II (special maplin UK Work - RK2818 chip ;/)
Installed CM7 MOD instead of it's original 2.1 (poor version) but have two problems - screen orientation (it flips not proper - instead landscape it flips upside down etc.) and don't have USB Host mode for for ex. USB Keyboard. I've wanted to update from zip with night...something update but i can't cause recovery mode navigation needs volume buttons (up-down) -and this tablet don't have those... have only esc/menu/trackball - menu is accept but other buttons do not react have any idea what to do ? This ROM i have is allright - just need USB Host and proper screen orientation...

hello again,
I've already done everything. Maybe similar things are somewhere here on XDA forum, but if somebody needs help with ROM changing on RK2818 Tablets just give PM or post here - maybe I can help ! cheers

[Q] Help please - soft (?) key backlight mod?

Hi all,
I have an HD2 and was wondering if there is a tweak available to switch on the backlight for the bottom keys when it's in Car Kit mode?
It obviously recognises the car kit (switching to NaviPanel), so has anyone come up with an option to switch on backlights for keys when in car kit mode? It's literally a stab in the dark, when it's dark, to use any of them.
It's my first post here so apologies if I've not followed any appropriate protocols.
Thanks
Not sure about a stand alone just for the Navipanel,
but there is this one by Netripper which will keep the leds lit up till you
physically lock the screen, give it a try and see if it does what you
are looking for ......

Great, thanks for that.
Thumbs up type smilie.

[Q] Keyboard driver for Microsoft Arc Keyboard?

I bought a Microsoft Arc Keyboard for my Notion Ink Adam, but when I tried it out, only the volume up and down keys had any effect? I'm told that this keyboard works on Linux (I haven't tested it yet on my Fedora installation). How would I get it to work on my Beast ROM 2.1.4?
I also have an Arc keyboard that I'd love to use with my Adam - It manages to connect between the USB-wifi plug, but the only thing that works is the volume up and down buttons.
Would be happy to help test stuff if anybody wants to write something that will help get this working.

[Q] KeyDock keyboard usable WITHOUT docking? Layout?

Hello.
I'm interested in a Transformer Prime pad, but don't have one (yet…? ), so, please pardon the question… Anyway…
Is the keyboard from the KeyDock also usable (as a keyboard…), if the display isn't docked in?
Oh, and if the keyboard is used, does Android then also display the (in this case) useless on screen keyboard when text is entered? I hope not…
Lastly, I'm interested in the keyboard layout; how many keys does it have? Does it also have a <ctrl> key? It would be awesome, if somebody could please post a picture of the keyboard (or a link to one…).
I'm asking, because I'd like to figure out, how feasible it might be, to use the thing as a SSH client (using e.g. ConnectBot).
Thx,
Alexander
No, no, lots (could you not look at a picture?), yes. Connectbot works okay, but key combos don't always work. ConnnectBot needs to be updated for full support
Thx for the quick response!
I suppose connecting a Bluetooth keyboard to it would work, wouldn't it?
I know, I'm getting Off Topic, but… How about a USB and/or Bluetooth mouse? On YouTube, I found the video "How to Use a Bluetooth Mouse With the Acer Iconia A500", which shows that BT keyboard & mouse work with 3.1 — on the Acer device. How about Asus?
And, if mouse works, is copy/paste in ConnectBot as easy as it is on a "proper" Linux xterm or as in PuTTY?
Thanks again,
Alexander

I use a bluetooth keyboard with Connectbot, and yes the stupid on-screen keyboard appears, but pressing the Back softkey (or Esc on the keyboard, in my case,) hides it.
Key combos don't work for me, because Ctrl is not passed into the app, I think that's my S3 being dumb, but the Menu key on the keyboard brings up the menu with copy/paste and other options, so that at least is OK.
I think a mouse would technically work, but most apps are designed for touch-only, so I don't know if they would handle a mouse correctly. And it would probably be an app-by-app question.

[REQ] Disable Touchscreen app

Hello I'm a student, and I have bought a HP touchpad and successfully flashed CM 7.1 on it (Thanks CM Team ).
Now, I often use my touchpad to look at pdf plans o immages, I had a good idea to put a paper over my touchpad and I tryed to draw over the device. But I had to notice that the touchscreen was still working so it is impossible to draw on the Touchscreen with a pen (cause you always put your hand on the screen and move the immage).
Is it possible to developp an application that allows to disable the screen via softbutton or a button combo?

Bluetooth Mouse Issue with Stock ICS

Hi everyone. I have this bluetooth mouse and tried to use it with my sensation (running stock ics shared by rmk40 here.
But i'm having two issues:
1) When connected to the mouse, my onscreen keyboard never appears. I think my phone recognizes it as both mouse and keyboard (it says connected to bluetooth mouse in bluetooth settings, though).
2) Left and right clicks of the mouse performs the same action (the normal left click action) while the right click is supposed to perform as "back" button.
Any ideas, fixes?
I'm experiencing the same issues with a bluetooth mouse from A4Tech, model BT-310.
The right button does not go back, instead it performs the same action as a normal click.
No on screen keyboard while using the mouse.
Did you find any fixes for this?
I am using ViperSs 1.0.0 ROM.
Nope. Found nothing.. Asked on general android section here . Hope there's someone knows the solution!
It's just so silly that ICS didn't get at least basic mouse & keyboard configuration panel : D
