Hello,
I am new to HTC ChaCha and I've got a bunch of questions.
At first my ChaCha doesn't come from official distribution. Therefore I haven't got right CID. I've got Dutch CID (HTC__E11) instead of the the one for East Europe (HTC__032) where the Czech locale is included. Is there a way how to change It when I am S-ON? Now I'm using some apps from Market to run it proper way (morelocale 2 and ChaChaCzech keyboard) but in some aspects it's not perfect (I can't use prediction, etc.)...
As I read, when I go for the XTC-Clip, it'll change my CID to SuperCID. What exactly does it mean? Will I be able to list and set all locales? Or will be able to change it from SuperCID to another one?
The last question. Where is the CID stored in ChaCha? If I am able to obtain temp-root, I should be able to change CID as well or not? I've tried flashing misc with changed CID by flash_image but it didn't work. It just helped me to flash Europe RUU, but the CID wasn't preserved.
Thank you.

You need the goldcard tool for efficiency. search in the forum or google goldcard.exe, but its a simple win app that makes your SD a goldcard if you follow the instructions. Then You can install various packages from the SD.
As far as I know (afaik ) the CID can be changed only if your radio is S-OFF'ed via XTC clip.
You can try this: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1408888 but I'm pretty sure it won't work.
Hi,
Apologies that this will very much be a noob post but help would be very much appreciated. I bought a HTC sensation XE which was imported from Taiwan. I wanted to use an RUU that is from Europe (the most recent one I found, 1.73.401.4), so that I wouldn't have all the branded apps. To do this, I first followed the htcdev unlocking guide, and then tried to change the CID to superCID, which it did not allow. Instead, I changed the CID to HTC__001 which I thought would work for Europe RUU. I then tried running the RUU exe file, but it eventually came up with a 155 error and did not install. From what I can gather, this is because I actually needed S-OFF to change the regions of the device.
I read that it was best to undo the htcdev lock (or perhaps even to not have done it in the first place). So, I ran "fastboot oem lock". This seems to have worked, because the bootloader now reads 'RELOCKED'. However, when I load the phone and click on bootloader it flashes a load of green lines like this:
sd checking...
loading...[PG58DIAG.zip]
No image!
Loading...[PG58DIAG.nbh]
No image or wrong image!
...
Otherwise it seems to be loading the original ROM without any issues. I cannot find any files on the SD card that include PGD58DIAG in their name. I have now changed the CID to HTC__622, but I'm not sure if this was the original one (is there any way to find out now?).
Does anybody have suggestions on how I proceed from here? Just to recap:
- Taiwanese import HTC sensation XE
- Used HTCdev to unlock, but have now relocked
- Have changed the CID to HTC__001 and now to HTC_622; may not be original.
The questions I have are:
1) Are the green lines of text that I am getting about PG58DIAG important?
2) If I want to debrand the phone and ideally move to European unbranded RUU, what should I do now? Should I try S-OFF and then changing to superCID as in the guide by Alexp999 here (http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1193033) - i.e. is it safe to do this, despite the green lines of text and having re-locked the htcdev?
Thank you so much for any assistance. I've really tried looking everywhere on here and can't seem to find a guide or thread that takes into account all my issues!
Oliver

1. That green "loading img" message you keep getting almost always normally occurs when you enter boot loader....it checks for RUU file in sdcard root folder. This is normal.
2. Root...super cid...the fastboot flash ruu
Just as FYI. Wasn't sure if you knew this so forgive me if you did.
RUU flashed in fast boot must my named "PG58IMG.zip"
RUU must be in root folder of sdcard
Sent from my HTC Pyramid using XDA
Choose the correct firmware from here
super sid not needed
Read and follow the instructions carefully
Thanks for the advice and the reassurance! From the sounds of things I shouldn't go ahead until I have the original RUU downloaded in case things go wrong. Can't seem to find it for 1.77.709.104 anywhere, so perhaps I'll wait to change ROMs until it gets posted somewhere!
Guys i have a question, i did supercid at the time of making my sensation s-off, but today (7 MONTHS AFTER BEING S-OFFED) when i checked the cid sum with cid checker app, it's showing me "HTC_044", so do i have to supercid again? how did it changed automically from 11111111 to HTC_044? please help me out..
That app will always show the original. Check in fastboot and it'll show Super CID

Thanks Eddy...i was really started to afraid flashing firmware since i saw that cidsum
Edit: bro it's also showing HTC_044 in terminal emulator :O I saw firmware thread of kohr...he recommended terminal emulator aswell to verify we are supercid or not
Go by what it says in fastboot, seriously
If it's still showing HTC_044 after that then you did not set it to Super CID properly the first time
I got my chacha s-off and super cid and now the lng button doesn`t work.
any idea how to get my original cid?
or any way to make lng button to change the keyboard layout?
ruu rom 2.3.5
1.54.415.4
I am sorry, because this have probably been asked many times, but I have a little more specific question. I have HTC Sensation rooted, and S-OFF. Now I want to send it to the service under warranty, because I noticed there is a dust under my screen.
I know what I have to do, but I dont know which default rom should I choose, so they definitely would not suspect anything. Does it have to be carrier specific or just some random EU rom? I am from Slovenia, my carrier is Simobil (Vodafone).
Any help would be much appreciated. Thanks in advance.
you need to flash one based on your cid which kinda gives you carrier, country info
use this guide as reference
Thank you, i just read this, however I still dont know how to find the right ruu for my phone. There is no Simobil Slovenia on the ruu list. Any other way to find out which rom to flash? The thing is I dont really remember whether I changed my CID at some point or not, so I might not be able to see/find the correct one.
Thanks again.
Ok here is what I found out now:
If i check for CID via fastboot i get this: 11111111 (i remember now, i set this)
But if i check it via application CIDgetter i get this: HTC_032
Q: Is this HTC_032 the true default CID or it could be just the info of currently installed rom, which is Viper 1.3.5 ?

Hi,
CIDGetter will show you your original CID.
When you check it via fastboot, you will get your ACTUAL CID.
If you are s-off,then , you should be able to run a European RUU and get back to stock.
Then, follow the guide ganesh gave you to s-on.

the cid you got via fastboot is the current one you are having
and HTC_032 is the rom cid ..so if you are having stock rom ..it represents your actual cid
Thank you both for your answers. Hmm, so one of you think that CIDgetter gives you original cid, and one thinks it gives you the CID of current rom. If ganeshp is right, then I still dont know my original CID, as currently I have Viper S 1.3.5 rom :// If malybru is right then I have to flash rom with HTC_032 CID and not just any European rom? Again it is important, because I dont want to get rejected on my warranty...
Thanks again.

both of us (me and Malybru ) are saying the same thing
cid from fastboot ..gives you the actual/current cid you have right now
cid from cid getter ..will give you the rom cid (in case of viper it is HTC__032)
also based on your country ..i think the fitting RUU is indeed is of European Unbranded one (as malybru said )
if the phone is not linked to carrier (like contract phone ) then European unbranded is the right RUU
It has been bought through carrier contract, but they stopped locking them, but it could still be locked in case it was from old stock... I'll have to try that, so in case it is locked to the carrier, I need different rom? Im sorry for so many questions but im really lost in finding the right rom.
