As of yesterday I started having issues downloading apps from the play store. They would sit at a downloading state, but never kick off. When i cancel the download and try it again everything works fine. Its very intermittent. Seems to only be the play store. I even flashed a couple different ROM's and the problem is persisting in all of them. Thanks
Have you tried again today? I believe Google was have problems yesterday.
You can always force stop and clear data and cache.

Ya I was having the same issue today. I noticed there was a play store services update. I am flashing a leak 4 ROM now. Ill see if that makes a difference. Thanks for the reply
Running liquid 2.9 past two days have been getting this a lot on apps from the play store that I'm trying to update.Any fix for this

It's not just Liquid or any particular ROM. I'm running Jelly Beans and it happened to me for 4 apps. I did a Google search and found quite a few people were having this problem. It has to do with the play store. I'm assuming you are trying to download over wifi. A few people were able to correct the problem by clearing the cache for the play store. For me, it took turning off wifi and updating the apps over 4G.

I had this issue with my N7 for 2 days straight this week and no matter what "fix" I tried nothing took care of it. Even a data/system wipe and reinstalling my ROM fresh did not help. Eventually the apps finally updated, I think it's a problem with Google and not device or Playstore related.
I've been having issues with this too. Chrome and Google+ absolutely refuse to update, no matter what I do. Keeps saying "package invalid" every time I download the updates.
Try in this order:
1. Turn off wifi
2. Clear data and cache for Play Store
3. Open Play Store and try updating, making sure data is on and wifi is off.
This worked for me updating Instagram. I was getting the same error on my Droid X2 yesterday.

Hi Everyone, have an infuriating problem. A few weeks ago woke up to find Google play services constantly crashing. I mean like every 2 seconds crashing with a notification. I took me for ever to navigate to settings and roll back play services and play store to factory to get it to stop. Later i tired updating to see if was a fluke and same problem. now I'm stuck on the older play services which sucks cause i cant update any Google stuff cause it says i need the latest and just got my invite to Inbox and cant even use it. Has anyone dealt with this? I've cleared the cache for play services and play store but doesn't help either. Would really appreciate any help.
Thanks

Try a different GApps. I've solved that exact problem with Slim GApps beta.
OK. Though I'm running stock. Never had installed gapps to begin with

Anyone else? This is driving me nuts!
Recently I have started getting an error saying Google Play Services has stopped, I have tried clearing the cache of both play services and the play store with no luck.
I have also tried clearing data, rolling back to the previous version & even as a last resort I did factory reset. Nothing seems to be working, now I'm thinking it may be related to another app?
Model: 6+ PE-TL10
Build PE-TL10V100R001C900B141
Play services: 7.5.71(1955121-038)
Play Store:5.5.1.2
Anyone else had this problem? or have any other possible solutions? it's happening every few mins now

Try deleting hosts file from system/etc and fixing it with ad away after that.

thanks for the reply. just had a look at that file. Need root to delete though, maybe thats something to look at next..
Hey,
Did you manage to get this fixed? I've got the same versions as you and I'm having the same issue, its gradually getting worse. Message has gone from being occasional to once every few seconds. It's driving me nuts. :silly:
I've tried the normal tips suggested for other phones (wipe cache, un-install updates, shout at it).
Currently looking at one of the update files from needrom incase its an issue with 4.4.2. Failing that will try rooting and failing that i guess its a factory reset and fingers crossed unless anyone has a brain wave.
I assumed it was Play Services itself, which you can't delete to roll back (and test) but it seems to be an app, which I'd uninstall if I knew which one.
I saw someone else with a 6+ at an event recently who had the exact same version of Google Play services and he's not had the problem once. I get it all the time.
Honor is aware of it, although it's been a few weeks now.
I just went thru same problem, different device, but i went thru two hours of hell, until i finally figured it out..... Similarly i went thru same problem last week on my rooted Lenovo ideapad... And today i couldn't remember what the f¥¢k i did to fix it! Finally, with the error "unfortunately the process gapps has stopped" every two seconds and constant notification about Google play service needing update.... But damn device freezing cause button needs hit ok.... Finally i went and managed to between error message ; get into settings - application mgr - all - Google play services.... Clear cache data manage data force stop.... Them Playstore wipe cache +data, uninstall update....
Then back to main settings page, accounts - Google - uninstall all accts. Reboot....
Then i tried (soon as booted) to go play but it was stuck on weird error - no service (?? Was on wifi - wtf??) so Google search and said i need update and that took me to Google account set up... Reinstall account and you get the Google accept play messages and backup /restore checkbox.... After that all was good to go.... Yeehaw!! * Yipee!!!
Sure that there is probably a beer way to do it but i was cussing up a storm and ready to smash it into the wall! Thankfully i was patient and figured out a solution
I had the same problem twice, and i solve it by :
Uninstall the update of play service in app manager. (Clear cache mayby)
Reboot.
Let playstore reinstall the update.
That's all.
No need to delete Google acount.

I experienced same issue on my Honor 6 plus and it drove me mad. 100 times per day the same message popped up in different situations but I could not see any correlation between the appearance of the message and any specific activity on the phone. I only noticed that the message appeared more often when I used any map application like Google Maps or Nokia Here. I tried to fix it with all above mentioned solutions, deactivated most of the Play apps, cleared the app cash of play services and all GApps, cleared the system cash from stock recovery and nothing helped for more than 10 min. Finally I deactivated Google Now (via Google Settings) and suddenly the popping up of this message stopped. No single error message re-appeared since that (48 hours ago). So in my case the issue seems to be solved for now and finally I'm fully happy with the phone.

I am also getting this error since I got lollipop update on my honor 4 x and now on Android 6 on same devices.
Ok, so recently jumped ship from iOS to a Pixel 3a. It's been a couple months and now the past 2 days all downloads, including updates refuse to download or update with the message "Download Pending"
I've cleared the cache from both the Play Store and download manager, rebooted and also force rebooted.
I REALLY do not want to have to factory restore this phone to fix this issue.
What are my options to fix this issue? I trust people on XDA are a lot more reliable and smarter than a random forum to post in.
The Pixel is rooted, Magisk has Play Store hidden. No changes in the OS to guess why this issue has popped up.
Help needed, thank you in advance

I don't think it would effect this issue, but you don't need to hide the Google Play store in Magisk.
Have you changed locations or at least networks? It very well may be a network issue and not a phone issue.

Just wait one or two days and it will back to normal.
It happened on my device and I tried everything and couldn't fix it. I just let the "download pending" there and the next day it just worked.
It's not a network issue as I had another pixel 3a working at the same time.
It's more like google is updating or checking for update for play services silently and that process is somehow stucked. As a result, the system think there is something downloading/updating and put all other download into pending.
Another temporary fix you can try is to restart the phone while it's showing"download pending" (don't cancel the download) and re-open play store. You may see the previous pending download will start downloading but any new download will still be pending.
Ok i cleared the cache & data from Play store, download manager and download (sys app) and it worked for about 10 minutes and we're back to download pending.
Doing the same thing does not now work.
RIP my patience

Nope, still with the same network provider and on the same wireless network & ISP at home.
Nothing has changed, one day just decided it doesn't wish to work
