For the HTC ChaCha
Original .sense thread
What is .sense?
dotsense is a HTC Sense 3.5 ROM created by benjamingwynn, originally made for the HTC Wildfire S but is now universal over many other HTC devices. Oh yeah it also has a super awesome sexy AROMA installer.

I already have Sense?
HTC gave us a "value pack" Sense 3.0, it looked like Sense 3.0 but it was really wasn't. On .sense we bring you the real full featured Sense 3.5 to your HTC ChaCha.

Issues
No WiFi - I'm working on it.
Calling direct force close- working and not working. Sometimes the first call you take you will get a force close and then you should be ok.
All lockscreens in landscape - If you want to port over the HTC ChaCha lockscreen then be my guest. I will add it in to this ROM if you do.
Home Launcher does not fit - It does the job for now. Install a third party launcher if you want.
Widgets does not show on Rosie Launcher - this is because of the grid size issue.
Quick Lookup - Force Close
Keyboard backlight does not light up - FIXED IN NEXT RELEASE
Once all of these issues have been sorted out we will merge with the Official .sense.

Download Notice:
dotsense has been discontiued due to the lack of time needed to make this ROM at stable standards. If you want to continue this ROM, please PM me. Click here for the last Github commit of dotsense (flashable).
Whats with the huge ass download?
I can't help the size of this ROM because during the installer you can pick what you want in the ROM, so extra files need to be in place for you to do this. If you really need a lite download then contact me and I shall create a lite package.
Why do I have to post to download ?
This allows me to become more social with my downloaders.
Changelog -
[07/06/2012] Alpha 2
Fixed keyboard issue.
Removed a few apps from Installer.
Calling direct works. I noticed when the call is in portrait mode the phone call will force close. However if you call again the call will stay in landscape and won't force close. Report back please.
Updated Goo Manager, Go Launcher EX and Google Music.
Behind the scenes work.
Removed Terminal Emulator due to force close. Install from Google Play if you really need it.
Some other stuff which I can't remember right now.

WE NEED YOU
Do you port, create or have something cool for this ROM? Well we need you!
Please contact me via PM or twitter @lucasarran if you have something to share and add to this ROM.
At the current moment we would love if you could port any HTC ChaCha stock items such as lockscreens, launchers and so on.
The new sense looks quite fine in comparison with v2. Finally HTC managed to design something looking stylish.
THIS IS GREAT!!!!! this is what we want! nice job dude.. can't wait for a next release for daily use!
nice one will flash this soon.
if the call problem fix i will use it for daily use.
Wanted to point this one:
in:
dotsense_chacha / system / customize / MNS / default.xml
typo on line 8: <item name="defeault">nl_NL</item>
Don't know how much it counts/matters though; was reading through the sources. Keep up the good work!
EDIT: same on line 67 and it might be some others as well.
EDIT2: afaik the screen is set to portrait by default in android.cpp (not positive about it though).
EDIT3: found some more info here: http://developer.android.com/reference/android/hardware/package-summary.html
great work..

Yes, that's because of the ROM being universal across many devices so that keyboard was for touch screen devices only. I will remove all choices of onscreen keyboard now.

These are all known issue. I will fix them in time. Icons and Widgets can not fit into the stock Rosie Launcher because of the grid size, remember that the ChaCha has a tiny screen compared to the HTC Wildfire, Salsa and others on the universal list. You can use a third party Launcher for now from the Google Play store. Please check the know issues in the OP before reporting them. Thanks anyway.
I've noticed that everythime after the first reboot of the phone, the launcher crashes for about 10-15 times

Copy results to clipboard
Background to slight gradient ('Holo' Theme)
Better swiping of advanced buttons
Graphical updates/adjustments
Thanks for the comment and feedback!

Very impressive app. Thank you for making it and great eye for aesthetics!
A bug I am having on my device: (CM7, 800x480, default DPI, Droid Sans changed to the Roboto font that was extracted from ICS)
Very nicely implemented, love the swipeable list at the top.
I often end up adding long lists of numbers, so it's important to see that they are all there
However, if you add a really long list, more than one row of numbers, you can't see clearly the number that you are inputting. Could that box resize automatically - or better, show just the last row inputted as well as the latest number?
(Desire HD, with ARHD ROM, v6.3.1 gingerbread)

The text cut-off on 480x800 devices should be fixed by this weekend. The emulator shows it looking totally fine, and the SGS2 we test it on looks good (though other SGS2 owners have told us of the same issue).
Thanks a lot for all the help, I hope the app comes in useful for you.

Thank you so much! I can use this a lot in my job!
I went to download this from the Market and apparently it's not compatible with either my HTC Sensation or Acer Iconia A500. The A500 I can understand but why the Sensation?

Bahh, this drives me nuts. I can't figure out why it shows incompatible with certain phones (not models; for instance, it'll be compatible with some SGS2s but not others) and only on the market (apk works fine). Do you have any ROMs installed? Still, I don't know why that would make a difference. I gotta make a post on xda about it or something :/.
I appreciate you trying to download it from the market, hopefully the apk in the main post will do for now (it is the full version).

From the threads I'm reading, if you set your ROM to custom dpi (pixel density) it has that affect with some apps on the market. Will keep reading into it..
If you do have a moment I would appreciate if you can rate my free app, each rating really helps a lot.

I'd be happy to rate it and provide feedback on the Market but I'm not able too.
I installed the apk though and so far everything seems to be working fine.
A couple of suggestions though:
Change Mortgage to Loan Repayments and provide a bit more flexibility. For example, the ability to choose the loan type from 1 year upwards or alternatively allow for custom input so I can type in whatever I want.
It would also be good to have an additional payments input. So you would enter you total loan amount, interest, loan type, then by inputting additional payments ($50 a week for example) it will tell you how many months and/or years you would save as well as a dollar amount.
This would cater not only for Mortgages but Personal Loans as well. If this kind of functionality was added I'd seriously consider buying it for this purpose alone.
The calculator looks good but I think it needs to follow the same basic look of any calculator with the + - X and / running down the right hand side. Having them at the top throws you off a little.
The ability to rearrange or select which tabs you want to appear at the top. Tipping and Currency are pointless for me so being able to remove them from view would be good.
A fantastic calculator overall though. Love the ICS look/theme to it. Easy to follow and read. When I can install it from the Market I definitely will.
My $0.02

I present to you my AOSP Honeycomb theme (**FROST**BITE**V1.0) for p6200 and p6200L (let me know if it work on any other)
I have had the day off college so i decided it was time to get to grips with my tab as we don't always see eye to eye. haha. iv modded what ever i could find in framework & system Ul. although it looks cool now just give me some time to work on this baby
what is themed?
well....
.system ul
.notification box with transparent backing
.power control themed gray
.lock screen
.clock
.settings icon (will theme setting ASAP in black)
.messaging icon (will theme message .apk ASAP)
.notification bar is now stock black with stock 3.0 soft keys in gray/white
.battery is themed but needs work sizing etc (I may add a circle mod hmmm..)
.signal bar ripped from XOOM stock 3.1 honeycomb ROM
.launcher is themed with stock honeycomb app key but still TW (i will add the option of a stock AOSP launcher.zip but you can not add widgets
to be continued.......
what is stock?......
well....
.camera is stock AOSP with stock icon.
.browsed is stock AOSP
.gallery is stock AOSP
.music is the latest AOSP version (sooo cool)
.clock widget is stock AOSP.
extras...
you will also get in the .zip....
asus weather widget
XOOM clock widget
movie studio XOOM
Toshiba media player
and a selection of stock honeycomb wallpapers
installation.
0.nandroid then check if you have a nandroid back up then check agen haha...
1. clear data on the following before install....Browser/ clock/ launcher (it just helps prevent issues and damn force closes)
2. make sure you are deodexed and rooted
3.place **FROST**BITE**V1.1.zip on to your external SD card navigate to choose zip for SD and flash....BANG!!!....your in **FROST**BITE**V1.0
thanks me or buy me a beer
Download here: http://dl.dropbox.com/u/8623715/FROST_BITE_V1.1 beta.zip
the setting will come in a update.zip also with the soft keys you see now
updates:
v1.1 beta:....uploading now
whats changed?...A) soft keys are more stock with matching screen capture and a very nice purple battery mod. you will also get AOSP stock setting with TW feel.
AOSP wallpapers are attached at the bottom to install but a faulty install in the .zip may mean you need to go to root explorer and uninstall the other one if it does not work let me know.
Disclaimer: i am not responsible if you brick your device under Google's open sauce licence. i will help you if you do something wrong but its not my fault.
if you do decide to blame me i will simply giggle at your expense haha then suggest ways for you to use your tab...drinks tray, diner mat, roofing slate...haha
Went a head and flashed your ROM on the T869 device (running deodexed rom). Screen cap below. It was charging at time of screen cap. I changed wallpaper immediately because the one the theme was very odd and very "zoomed in" looking.
I know this was not meant for this device...but its fun to try right?
Few things that don't look right.
-Lock screen orbit is a small square...that's it. You can still unlock though.
-Battery icon when device is not charging is off. It turns it into a gray spiral type icon.
-Get 3g icon instead of 4g (obvious reason why)
Again, not a problem report...just letting those know who want to play with the t869 device. I'm finding these themes are almost do-able on the T869.

In regards to me flashing this on T869 Device (which it was not made for)
I knew it wouldn't soft brick...been playing with the current themes offered and have flashed before. Most of the framework and system are similar enough it will boot every time...just may not look right on some things. Ive owned and flashed many android devices...so very comfortable with it.
Im in no way a dev...very wet behind the ears when it comes to theming. But the T869 device needs some love so im trying my best to learn how I can do just that...give it some love.
I greatly appreciate your work.

the best software to theme is something as simple as 7-zip for opening apks and PAINT.NET for coloring and re-sizing or Photoshop for high quality themeing

its very easy all you have to do is set up the kitchen you require and select the option fill in the information you want to show in the recovery log add change log and fill with apks etc... haha but you do have to write the paths out e.g. if you want something going in to system, app make a system folder and put app folder in to that one then place your required file in to it and it will pop it in their when flashed. A very easy cheats way is to copy someones META-INF file and place it in to a .zip then fill in your paths described above easy!....when you get going

Hopefully you'll be able to port it thanks!
This mod is for CR6 and other sotck-ish Sense 4+ (JB) ROMs that are ODEX-ed. If you flash this on any other ROM and soft brick your phone you are an ass of unimaginable proportions and I will have no sympathy for your failure to read and follow instructions. I have done a bit of testing to ensure that it works on my phone, but make no promises it will work on your phone.
The attached ZIP will covert a stockish Sense 4+ (JB) Rosie a 4x5 grid. It has been tested on my phone with CleanROM 6 R2. It should work on other stockish Sense 4+ ROMs. I do not expect it to run on ROMs that tweak Rosie extensively.
Installation:
Ensure that you are fully backed up
Download Rosie_SenseJB_Portrait_4x5_odex.zip below
Reboot in recovery
Flash the zip
Wipe cache/Davlik
Reboot system
Enjoy
To back out to stock download and run Rosie_SenseJB_4x4_odex.zip. It is quite possible that you will not be able to successfully back out and may need to reflash the whole ROM, so be prepared
A few important points:
You will need to flash this every time you reflash your ROM (duh)
Needless to say, this will undo all other Rosie mods you might have installed, e.g., three-dot menu on home screen, etc
Do not use TB to restore your home screen layouts. This will result in a weird configuration with an empty and uneditable bottom row in your Rosie. Yes, you will have to manually recreate all your home screens.
The mod is for Portrait Rosie only. The icon overlap in landscape mode is rather ugly and not useful.
Full sized widgets such as HTC Weather do not fit very neatly in the 4x5 layout at this time due to the reduced row height. There are no known workarounds so if you can't live with this don't flash.
If this screws up your setup and you cannot recover because you did not do a backup... too bad
If you brick your phone... too bad, buy a new one
Acknowledgements:
This mod is nothing more than an implementation of mikeyxda's 4x5 Rosie guide for ICS, all brain power came from him. I will try to address problems as people post them, though I am a n00b so don't hold your breath. If I can Google it I will do it, but anything requiring deep knowledge of Sense and Android is beyond my capability.

Nice!
The clock widget slightly covers the status bar.

This was stated in the OP. To revert back just run CleanMods again and select the Rosie of your choice

With the exception of the slight overlap for a full-sized clock widget, noted in the OP and above, it is stable. This is nothing more than a modification of a few sizing parameters in the Rosie config files, so it should never cause code instabilities, just possibly minor cosmetic issues. You can always back out by running Scott's CleanMods and choose the default Rosie or the landscape Rosie.

Does it have landscape option?

This is discussed in the OP. Jamming 5 rows of icons in landscape mode starts to become tricky in terms of spacing and overlap. I may someday choose to tackle that, for the moment I need to get portrait right.

Link? I can give it a shot, the mods are rather simple and should not change too much unless there is a wholesale redesign of rosie, which I doubt
EDIT: it works with the 4.1 Rosie posted here but unless you manually delete Rosie.odex it FC's. Turge says his .zip will do this on its own, but it did not do it for me. Until I can get the .odex auto delete to work reliably I am not going to post anything with Rosie 4.1

Yes but I needed to edit the install script to remove Rosie.odex. In the mean time Turge posted a version with his menu mod and 4x5 for both 4.0 and 4.1. It behaves exactly like mine as best as I can tell so there is no point in me continuing this. I did have an issue with weird rosie behavior after that, probably because I did not properly deoxex rosie the first time around which required me to re flash CR 4.5 to resolve. I don't see much difference between 4.0 and 4.1 rosie so for the moment I am sticking g with 4.0 just to be closer to the ATT base.

Now now, if there were more people like you (a self-admitted noob, even) that took the initiative of researching/implementing mods instead of just requesting them, our lives would be a lot easier.
I'm sure 90% of the devs on here started as leeches/lurkers. I joined in 2008 and my first post probably wasn't until 2010!
Anyways, Keep up the great work!

As far as I know there are no working solutions. By tweaking the row offset you may be able to minimize it but not eliminate it.

That is pretty easy, just one parameter in one xml file, though it appears that in JB the location of the flag has changed.

About CarbonROM
CarbonRom is an aftermarket firmware based on the Android Open Source Project. We are dedicated to fast, stable, and feature-filled roms, honesty and communication with our users, and openness with our code. We like frequent builds, with the very latest and greatest hardware support and fixes. We strive to not only provide you with the best rom we can build, but also to give back to the Android community and our fellow developers. For us, this is about creating something we can be proud of and hope you will enjoy.
Please feel free to look at, build, and use our code on CarbonDev GitHub.
We would like to thank CyanogenMod for their device trees, framework/settings mods and their code that was incorporated into this project. We also extend our gratitude to the devs whose code that we have incorporated. Proper authorship has been maintained and can be viewed on our repository.
Special thanks also go to Slim Rom for some of their features, PA, AOKP, and anyone else we may have borrowed commits from that hasn't been mentioned here. If you feel you have been unfairly left out, please - let us know.
While we make every effort to test these builds as much as possible, we are not responsible for anything that may happen to your device, family, pets, or perception of reality. We ask that you do your part to know your device and know how to recover from problems before you flash! If you have questions, ask your fellow users or ask us in #teamcarbon on freenode IRC.
1.6 is a pretty big update for us! Check out the changelog on our goo.im page for more, but here are the highlights:
-We've fixed PIE! It no longer decides to be invisible from time to time.
-We fixed the battery charge light! None of us use it but apparently you guys are just nuts for it!
-Dark Carbon! Huge props to Slim Roms for coming up with this unique and awesome feature.
-Lockscreen theming
-CM skinny battery is back!
-Volume key lock on silent mode option
-Backup tool - if you're flashing a new version of Carbon and already have the required version of gapps installed, it will be backed up and restored during install. This applies to system apps and custom host files as well. Please note that you should only dirty flash from Carbon to Carbon. It's ok if it's another version or a nightly - just not over other roms. Super handy for you crack flashers. Make sure you've got the most recent Gapps though, and if you're flashing from a factory reset, you'll still need to install it after install of course.
-Long pressing the "clear recents" button clears the cache
-3.4 kernel on D2xxx devices. It's finally stable enough where we're comfortable with this - remember to only flash other 3.4 kernels or it will not boot as there are rom-level dependencies.
-AOKP's awesome new navbar settings
-NFC polling mode for when you want to keep your screen off and scan tags
-MMS and call "breathe" feature. Makes the notification icon fade in and out.
-Mute dings when changing volume
-Disable/enable CRT effect on screen on/off.
-3rd party keyboard bug fixed
-deodexed again
-stability and speed enhancements
-a million other little things as well - we basically don't even sleep anymore.

Folks..Its a fantastic ROM and very lighter compared to my previous stock ICS. I love it.. couple of issues I am facing on this ROM..
1. When I type any message or text, after typing the first letter, the keyboard dismisses itself back for few seconds and appear once I touch
the cursor couple of times.. It looks as if the the keyboard routine searches for suitable words after I type the first letter.. has anyone face this issue ?
2. Font display on emails / SMS is smudgy.. it was smooth font with ICS..
3. I had enabled password lock.. the password field gets overlapped by the keyboard.. Though not an issue, but it looks I am typing blindly without seeing the dots..
Are these common issues or I am the only one facing..pls let me know.

1) Known JB issue, just remove all ticks from Predictions in Setting of Keyboard
2) Just go to setting->Advance->Scenario->Change it to UI.
3) Dont know what are you asking.
Thanks Vikesh.. the 2nd issues is sorted out.. I am still trying to figure out all the settings related to keyboard..
Regarding 3rd issue, its more about the position of password field in the screen. The keyboard overlaps the password field and I have to count the
letters to type the correct password.. no visual effect to see the normal dots..Hope I am clear now.. -

[APP][MOD][Updated 2/12] Classic HTC Dial Pad - for Light & Dark themed Sense ROMs
Classic Dial Pad
for Light and Dark/Inverted Sense 6 ROMs
This app mod is a layout redesign of the Large Dial Pad included in the Sense 6 dialer. The larger dialer is kind of hideous IMO and with a screen as big as ours, really not necessary, however, it DOES have its benefits. Namely the scrollable recent dialed/contact list. So, with this in mind, I have redesigned the layout for the large dialer to match the standard dialer but still allow for the scrollable contact list.
What's the point:
The standard sense 6 dial pad provides only one call back option in the "recently called" field above the dialer. This, of course, is the last dialed number.
In earlier versions of sense (eg sense 4) the contact field allowed for a selection from a list of multiple contacts as well as recently dialed numbers, as opposed to being limited to simply the last dialed number.
So what have you done:
I have redone the layout for the large dialer so that it now matches the standard dialer, while leaving the scrollable contact list in the recently dialed field. This list combines not only recently dialed numbers but your full contact list into one dynamic scrollable list directly in the dialer.
Will I lose anything:
Yes, you will no longer have the "Large dial pad" as an option as that layout has been completely replaced within the apk.
How can I use this:
Copy the apk to /system/priv-app/HtcContactsDialer/ and make sure permissions are set correctly, reboot and enjoy.
So how do I apply the Classic dialer:
I have replaced the large dial pad option entirely within the apk.
To apply the classic dialer simply open the settings menu within the app and select "Classic dial pad." To switch back, simply open the settings menu again and select a "Standard dial pad."
What does it look like:

Lol, Yes it absolutely does. It was designed and tested specifically with Viper in mind. I'm using it on Viper now and its been confirmed working several times in the Viper thread, including working on cdma variants (eg Verizon/Sprint). In fact, ViperOneM8 1.60 is exactly where the screenshots in the OP come from.
You did not install/push it properly. This is not to be installed as a normal apk. You need to follow the directions in the OP and copy and paste it or ADB push it to /system/priv-app to overwrite the original one properly and always make sure permissions are set correctly.

Or
Perhaps @ViNOK16Bit would want to incorporate this into his theme or make it a option when installing it. He is more than welcome to do that. That would be best for users like you since he could then keep it up-to-date with his theme.

Maybe I will put an inverted version of this mod in the theme. It would be better if @j to the 4n would implement this as a tweak in ViperOne

Agreed. It's a very simple mod though and I'd be more than willing tell you exactly what changes to be made or answer any questions you have if you want to implement it for your inverted theme.

The thing is that it will be another apk to edit for the themes I do when I put in the whole apk. And possibly needs to be redone when the devs update the ROM with new tweaks. If it is just one or a few xmls that has to be changed I can vrtheme just that part so it wont break the theme elements. What files did you change? I have decompiled the apk already.

It's one layout (specific_htc_keypad_big), 4 values in /res/values-xxhdpi/dimens.xml, and one string (of course the string is repeated in something like 48 xml due to language translations). Maybe I'll just modify the htcdialer.apk in your theme. I really wanted to avoid that though because I don't want to make 10 versions of it to support everybody's themes lol. I really only wanted to support stock theme.
Not sure it really matters much though. There doesn't seem to be much demand for the mod in the first place. Maybe I'll just post the apk changes here and people can modify for themselves the dialer from any theme they want.

I see. It's too much of a hassle to implement and maintain it in the themes. I'll just end up doing it for each theme every time the devs update dialer.apk. if I were you I would just leave it and maybe do one extra for inverted themes.
Anyway great mod for sure!!

Was just gonna say. Using it since its been in "testing" (sorry Behold ) and its good. It works. It had a spelling mistake originally but its working nonetheless.
You gotta get accustomed to checking Permissions before you post a "not working" claim. Really.
Version for inverted/dark themes now available in OP.
Apologies to anyone that downloaded the dark version of the Classic dial pad. I had forgotten to change the label for the dialer when using english translation, so it still said "Large dial pad." An updated apk with the fixed translation is now in the OP or HERE
Sorry for any confusion.
