Hi,
I have a HTC Desire S which was working until I dropped it and cracked the digitizer. But the phone wont boot beyond the Service Provider (3 network UK) screen. I tried the option of Vol down + power button to go into hboot and factory reset it but it does not work. I can select factory reset option in the hboot but nothing happens after that. I expect to get the options to say yes or no but it does not happen and stays stuck on the factory reset option.
The following info on my HBoot screen:

Can anyone help me on how to solve the issue with my phone? I tried through many forums but I couldnt find anyone having this issue yet.
I tried flashing an RUU but it is stuck on "Rebooting to Bootloader......"
Considering that you dropped your ds, there's a big chance that it's going to be a hardware problem. The only thing that i can think of, is try to boot without your sdcard, if you got one inside.
Edit: Did you already change three digitizer?
Hi, thanks for the response.
Yes, I changed the digitizer and still no luck.
Can I flash a recovery img file from an SD card? Will this work?? if yes, do you know the steps for this?

I don't believe that that is possible as your device is s-on and not unlocked.....
Unfortunately it does sound like it may be a hardware issue

Ok, I did something really stupid although I knew that it might have consequences. I s-offed via Revolutionary and flashed a new rom. Then I noticed that my phone, that I just got back today from repair, wasn't able to pull down the status bar.
After installing a Test App, I realized that the new phone had a failure and needs to get back to repair...and then the failure happend.
My phone is branded t-mobile and I tried the "how to s-off version from here ( http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1187231 ), although it noticed that it is for non-branded phones. Just wanted to get back to something "normal"
Well, after using the RUU for TMO_DE (I'm from germany) there was a error message that it wasn't the right RUU version, and got me back to hboot.
And here is my problem: Now my hboot is s-on (0.98.0000) and everything is deleted (recovery, rom) and I have no idea what to do....did I brick my desire s now? is there any chance to put it back to life, aside from hboot?
Thanks a lot in advance, and sorry for my english...
English fine.
First question? What exactly does HBOOT screen say? are you S-OFF still?
If you can put device into HBOOT then you can put it into FASTBOOT
So Connect PC via USB and run a RUU that you want on phone
Thx,
no, that is the problem, i am s-on now, it exactly:

Which RUU did you try.....full name?
you could try this one (or is that the one you just did try?)
RUU_Saga_TMO_DE_1.30.111.1_Radio_20.28b.30.0805U_3 8.03.02.11_M_release
I tried:
RUU_Saga_HTC_Europe_1.28.401.1_Radio_20.28b.30.080 5U_38.03.02.11_M_release
RUU_Saga_TMO_DE_1.30.111.1_Radio_20.28b.30.0805U_3 8.03.02.11_M_release
and
RUU_Saga_HTC_Europe_1.47.401.4_Radio_20.28I.30.085 AU_3805.06.02.03_M_release_199410_signed
The only difference using the TMO RUU is, that the error is 140, not 131...but the error message is the same.
I had the same problem with s-on and everything else deleted. Send phone to warranty service and when phone came back, they said they had to replace phone's mothearboard. It's impossible to do something else to make it work

That sounds like a good idea, as it's now s-on they'll have no evidence that you did anything wrong, unless of course you admit it

Ok thanks, I already guessed that this might be the last solution.
I'll report back if they made it under "warranty" (and if not, what the price was I had to pay )
Ok I was at the t-mobile shop, and they said it will be replaced under warranty, I should come back tomorrow to get my new desire s. (I'm not sure if it really will be there tomorrow, but at least in a few days)

Ok, I got my new Desire S today, replaced under warranty, everything fine now I guess I won't do any strange experiments now, but I guess I can't keep my fingers from rooting it and replacing the stock rom with custom.
Anyways, thanks a lot guys
Hi everyone
My sister has a HTC Sensation Orange UK branded, running completely stock 1.50.61.1 software, without no modifications to the phone in any way, it is just as if it came out of the box. The other day the phone mysteriously stopped going past the boot logo... It turns on, white screen with green HTC logo, then within 10 seconds it turns off and back on again to the same logo, and continues until the battery dies. It does not get on the OS boot logo. The phone does however go into the bootloader and fastboot.
First step I took was download a 1.35.61.1 Orange UK branded RUU and tried to run that, knowing that it would probably fail as I was trying to go back to an older version, but I did not wanna do anything else first. The RUU for 1.50.61.1 is not available, and I have not been able to find it anywhere... When I run the RUU, I seem to get upto the point where it says "Sending Data..." and then it fails with an "UNKNOWN ERROR".
Next step , I unlocked the bootloader since the RUU is not available and if it is an issue with the OS/ROM, then I need to flash another. I unlocked the phone via HTCDev, and that worked fine. Phone is showing unlocked in the bootloader. Then, when I tried to flash a recovery, it looks as if works fine, but when I go to the recovery option in the bootloader, same issue... Won't load the recovery, and just keeps boot-looping. I tried CWM recovery via Hasoon's toolkit and manually through the fastboot command. It says sending, done OK, but continues to boot-loop.
Here is all the information I feel is necessary:
HTC Sensation

Thank you everyone for all your help in advance!
If its in Warranty period, Try replacing it.
Sounds like a H/W fault to me..
That was my suspicion too... I am not sure if it is under warranty, I guess I can find out.
Is there nothing I can try from here?

OK I guess there is nowhere to go from here then. Lol
Thank you very much for your help!
Well that was my suggestion... I'm not a genius
May be some one in XDA may know a way out.
Anyways, go for Hardware replacement first.

Sent from my HTC Sensation XE with Beats Audio Z715e using XDA Premium 4 mobile app
I have a HTC Sensation XE with Beats Audio that is currently locked into a boot loop cycle.
Before you all start telling me to look at this thread, or that thread, I KNOW that this problem has been on here before, and I have spent the last 2 days reading through what has been posted, with no success.
I am not a modder, I do not want to ROOT my phone, turn S-OFF, or unlock the bootloader. I have had this model of phone and been perfectly happy with it for over a year. Unfortunately my first handset had a touchscreen issue, so I sent it back to HTC (YES! I do realise what a huge mistake that was, NOW!! I don't need any more reminders) They sent me back another handset, but not without first beginning a very acrimonious relationship with me. The handset that they sent crashed, (I had only had it 2 days and hadn't done more with it than just put my contacts and music on it) it then entered a boot loop where it would load as far as the 'Quietly Brilliant', and sometimes the start of the 'Beats Audio' logo, then beep at me and try again. The first time this happened I pulled the battery, and left the device for about 30 mins and when I put it back together it worked. 2 days later it did the same thing and has never recovered.
I can get into the bootloader, and it displays:

I have spent the last 2 days scouring this forum and trying to get my phone to work again.
I don't want to modify my phone, but will if that's what it takes. The problems I have found it that most methods require me to 'Enable USB Debugging' or install CWM Recovery on my phone, which I can't do, or to unlock my HBOOT using HTCDev, which given that you need to register with HTC to use DEV and my current opinion of that company, is not happening, also from what I have read about the procedure I can't do it anyway, because I can't get into my phone.
The other problem I have encountered is in trying to enter recovery mode from bootloader, which gives me the green loading icon, then a red triangle, and nothing else.
I will admit to my absolute noobdom when it comes to this, and if I'm perfectly honest I would be happier if I had remained ignorant. I just want somebody to show me how I can get my phone to work again.
Thanks
Baz

Hi,
If you have an unmodded phone, just send it back again.
They have just sent you a dud replacement.
Do not accept it.

HTC sensation XE in bootloop
hi i have a rooted sensation xe, and when i installed the PAC-MAN rom it wouldnt boot up.
It just kept showing me the white screen with HTC in green letters, then go black and do it again over and over.
Ive changed the rom many times on this phone and had no problems until now and i cant seem to get out of it.
Ive come from the ViperS rom with sense 5 and when i try going back to that rom it still gives me the bootloop. even the backup that i made doesnt work.

Greetings,
(after careful searching of the archives) I still need some help.
I purchased a used M8 on swappa.com (not finalized yet, still haven't been able to boot the thing).
Was running Viper but couldn't boot past init screen - kept giving sense errors. so... I tried a couple of other ROMs loaded via SD-card (CM, Android Revolution) and both seem to install, then nothing. Reboot and only a faint gray screen. Unable to sign in. I can get back to Recovery but if I don't hold the down-volume at startup I get back to that faint gray screen.
Options? Suggestions?
Does OS- mean no OS is installed?

Have you tried the RUU files Here? Thats the only other thing I can think of right now.
If u were running a Rom you should have no problem ruuing unless it is a hardware issue which hopefully it's not.

perfectly fine. in fact no need to ruu either. simply flash custom recovery and sideload a ROM through recovery.
If all else fails the ruu will fix it back up. Since that phone is s off and unlocked and still boots to bootloader you will be fine.

Thanks for the advice. Once I RUU'd it worked as advertised. - btw I chose option-2 (untested, but now it is tested) because I was having trouble with the HTC ABD drivers on my PC. After flashing TWRP was able to get a fresh copy of Viper on it.
Thanks again for the quick and helpful responses!
