Hey, sorry if I'm posting this in the wrong place.
I'm using CWM recovery and trying to install a ROM (i've tried two overall, so it's the phone with the issue).
After 'Installing' a ROM from the recovery, (which takes like 30 seconds, is this OK?) I try to boot and just get stuck on the 'htc' logo bootscreen. It's currently been like this for about 15 mins... What've I been doing wrong?
Really appreciate your help, tbh have little experience and a lot of other threads mean nothing to me.
Thanks.
If you unlocked via HTCdev you need to flash the boot.img of your desired ROM each time you flash a new ROM.
P.S. : It has been mentioned all over the forums. Please search before posting. . . {Also, this should have been posted under Q&A}

Okay, ill take this from the top.
Well i found out Cyan had a new rom available and i figured ill take the time to update to the newest rom i was on 4.1.1.1.1.1.1 (Whatever) and i first downloaded 4.2.3.1 and tried to flash it not knowing you have to download a recovery image so i had downloaded and flashed the recovery image on top of the 4.2.3.1 then when that was finished the phone said formatting radio or something then it rebooted then went back to the recovery screen next thing i see is the phone giving a message formatting cache and it didnt do anything for about 20 min i rebooted the phone and now im back at stock firmware without root.....
Do i go ahead and Root my phone again or do i have to do something else.
Any advice is much appreciated!

Yeah that's why you must always read before flashing. You should reroot you phone to be safe. What bootloader and recovery system do you have now? Next time download the recovery image from htc and then flash ur image from cyanogen. ... and oh yeah POST in Dream Q&A next time. This forum is already cluttered as is already.

I am beyond fed up with people like you.
You are not contributing to Android development.
You are not helping anyone.
You're simply selfish, lazy, stupid, and a waste of time.
Sorry if that sounds extreme, but it's not that hard to read forum rules.
Did I read that correctly in that you flashed 4.2.3.1 over your 4.1.9xx w/e CM build and then flashed the HTC image afterwards? Ya that was incorrect. You did the process in reverse. Just read Cyanogen's first post in his thread (read it slowly just to make sure). It clearly states what to do.

Seems to me like someone didn't read the directions correctly on how to flash the ROM. You deserve it, but it's not the end of the world. I'm surprised this thread has not been moved or locked yet, but then again, Mods have enough trouble sifting through stuff like this as it already is. Oh what to do, what to do.
Start asking your questions in the right sub-forum (Q&A) (Theme) or even in (General), or simply search.......This isn't a developmental subject, Thank you.
Final result will be a ban for you up too 3 days.

Thread Trashed!!
Hi everyone,
Fisrt time poster
Firstly I have searched for my answer and I only found the question http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1040121&page=199
the person who found the solution did not want to share it.
Anyway, I just flashed my Desire with Cool3D Sense 3.0 v6 using this tut http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1016084
Everything is fine, but I would now like to flash the weather pack. So I transfered the zip file to my sd card and tried to boot the phone holding the down volume button, and it doesn´t work!
what do I need to do?
Thanks in advance
Ok a little update,
I forgot to mention this is my first time flashing rooting a phone!
So after looking through the forum I read something like flashing all the stuff you want before rebooting, ok so I can boot into the boot loader? ok a bit more searching and I think I might not need to, I can use Rom manager...Great! actually not really. The Android Market wont download anything for me, it just stays on download starting.
I downloaded Rom Manager from another source and can´t install it cause I need a file manager which I can´t install either!!!!
HELP!
I know this probably sounds ridiculous and probably funny to most of you but I´m really getting frustrated.
Any reply would be gratefully appreciated!
right so I had to turn off fast boot in settings-power-fastboot
Thanks for all your help!
im very inexperienced.... VERY!...lol well i rooted using the v8 all in one method. fooling around with rom manager, i hit back up current rom while i was downloading one. went to reboot and not past lg screen. tried the power/ vol down recovery and deleting.... would still stop at lg screen. is there any hope? stupid question...... im have a capped plan, so i got stuck while downloading, could it still be downloading? basically pertaining to overages
Reflash Kernel!
Yeah, happened to me once, too!
The problem could be, that you are using a wrong kernel.
Try to reflash the original kernel and the standard rom of your phone and start over again!
And for the next time:
Read the threads CAREFULLY before flashing! This prevents errors and bricking.
Good Luck
The_Mighty_Muffin
the thing is i didnt't "flash" a rom. i just downloaded something within rom manager and it happened while backing up current rom. now how do i go about fixing it. im not really sure how. thanks in advance
please help
All I can tell you is...as long as you can see something, a blinking screen, a logo, anything, there is still hope. Where you using the phone or some PC based software?
i was using the rom manager. i just need help getting this thing stock. dont care about deleting anything. just want it to work, thank you in advance
i think my only problem is getting the vs910.dll to work... dont know what version. i had latest ota update
Just installed the custom Ultrablaze GB rom and rebooted the device from recovery and waited 50 minutes while it was only displaying the HTC boot screen. What am I doing wrong?
Already read in the thread that it could take up to 20 minutes for it to load but I waited over 50 so...
I'm on wildfire s
You probably got it soft bricked. I'd suggest re downloading the ROM and then posting in the ROM's thread. If all else fails, you should use another custom ROM or ask the developer if the download link somehow got corrupted.

I tried but i need at least 10 posts because it is in the developer section of the forum
Nevermind, it is working now. This thread can be closed!
I'm a nub at this so forgive me for asking the stupid questions. I just did all the steps to root the phone and install a custom ROM. When my phone boots, it has the red text in the top "RECOVERY IS NOT SEANDROID ENFORCING". But the main problem is the boot gets stuck on the "SAMSUNG" logo just pulsing brighter and dimmer. I've searched for several hours and can't find any posts that talk about this recently (in the past few years). At this point the phone is unusable. Please help or link me to another thread that I may have missed.
Thank you.

I figured it out by realizing the ROMs I was trying to use don't work on the N920P. However, I want to thank you for showing me where I can find the stock ROM because I was having a difficult time finding that! So far so good on this ROM, ended up going with the MoAR v4.2 for now.
Thanks again!
