Just like a title, iwas wonder if i could flash another rom like MIUI if i've already have an D2G .629 stock rom that i've known being stuck with new bootloader.(can't sbf)
Just wonder if any chance??
you just need to be rooted
and there is a .629 sbf and a way to root
as to which roms work, just ask in the rom's thread, anyone has tried it with .629

I've been really having a hard time following the DX and D2 differences in this forum. It seems as though the DX and D2 are able to use each other's SBF. I wanted to confirm if I flash 2.3.320/2.3.340 to my D2 in addition, will it allow me to install the latest ROMS?
Thanks.
Neither one is for the D2, you want 2.3.20...
Do you have a D2G? You posted this question in the D2G section. The D2 has two different SBF's the old 2.2.0 and the newest 2.3.2.0
If you have the Update from verizon (2.3.2.0) then you shouldn't need to flash anything to install the roms and even if you didn't have the update the ROM would update your phone and you should be fine. The only thing you shouldn't flash are old roms from when we had the old Verizon base 2.2.0 because those will mess up your phone if you have the update because the update changed the kernel and some other stuff which won't allow the old one to be flashed.
But if you have a D2G, the D2G doesn't have an SBF out yet so D2G's have to be careful.

Holy crap! I didn't realize I posted in the D2G section. I have a D2, NOT the D2G. The D2G needs it's own area, not the D2 area. They are "different," so shouldn't they be separated?
Thanks for the tips. I'm gonna flash some ROMs tonight. I miss this stuff since my poor Eris took a crap.
Hi,
I was wanting to root my T-mobile LG G2x and I found a previous forum but it don't know if the methods will work due to the forum rooting for a 2.3.3. G2x were I have the new update that is 2.3.4 will the same method work for the update or is there a different way to do it, or would the program unlockroot work to do the rooting?
here is the forum I found:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1255214
and is the legit site for Unlock root?:
http://www.unlockroot.com/index.htm
Bump. Did you ever figure it out? I'm having the same problem.
I flashed my phone that had 2.3.4 with a stock rom and was able to go from there.
Let's get one thing straight I am not at all a pro at this.
What led to me flashing stock was my dumb ass flashing my phone with a p990 version. XD

I am looking to purchase a Droid 2 Global from eBay.
I went through the posts in the general and developments sections for the phone here at xda and at droid forums, to learn how to root the phone and flash CM7/9.
I got very confused with sbf and rsd lite and all those things.
Could someone PLEASE explain the rooting process and what sbf and rsd lite etc. are?
Thanks in advance!
Read http://droid.koumakan.jp/wiki/SBF for information on SBF.
The rooting methods article is not ready yet but I'm working on it; there are three possible methods.
First is z4root that only works on old, 2.4.x, firmware.
Then there's Super One Click that works for both 2.4.x and 4.5.60x.
Finally, if you're a misbegotten soul who has got a phone running 4.5.629, there's the hard way that involves flashing partial SBF images etc. and is described here in this forum section (as well as on RootzWiki).

Hello everyone,
I've recently purchased a refurbished Wi-Fi only Motorola Xoom. The first thing I did, before thinking, was updated it to JellyBean via FOTA. I'm loving the stock JB, but I really wish I would have rooted it before I updated
Has anyone found a way to do this yet? I don't want to use a custom ROM, I just miss a few features of rooting
you can use the zip file in this post (flash it with CWM or other recovery) to root jb
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=30464067&postcount=408
or just install this stock rooted jb rom for the MZ604

I would like to flash stock 4.1.2 rooted or unrooted so I can reroot with it. A link or a post would greatly be appreciated. I cannot seem to find absolutley any stock roms for the Droid Razr HD. Anything more recent than 4.1.2 cannot be rooted and therefore is not what I'm looking for.
Thanks,
An android user.

These are XT925 roms. Use RSDLite 6.0 to flash them. It is super easy. BTW I recommend RETAIL Germany because there is not a single bloatware. It is the most clean RAZR HD ROM.
