Hello everyone ,
I got a HTC Desire S. Yesterday i opened my phone and suddenly it closed. And didnt open again. It froze in HTC screen. (Quietly Brilliant is not coming) And i couldn't make a factory reset or recovery. When i press factory reset it froze again. Is there a way to fix this? Also the phone is not rooted or installed any custom rom. Lastly i am a newbie on Android devices. While answering me, can you also please describe what should i do step by step. Especially technical terms.
Any help will be deeply appreciated.

Try boot into recovery or in the hboot menu wipe the device. Then try to boot again.

I think i will do the same Thanks for sharing your experience.
Same here, just send it to HTC, they'll just install new motherboard or swap your phone for working one.

My phone was unrooted one.
One fine day i think it got heated up too much and went into a reboot loop.
After that when i turn on the phone It gets stuck at HTC logo and vibrates for like 7-8 times and stays that way.I think dats what is called being bricked.
i did go through the post already posted here. But i have downloaded the gold card tool ( exe file)
But i dont know how to generate the PB99IMG.zip file.
Basically which RUU to use to generate the PB99IMG.zip and where would i get it.How to run it.
PLease if possible also guide me step by step.
I ensure i have read all the post here but I am making a new one just because i havent been able to solve my problem.
Would be really thankful if anyone helps.
I am a newbie so i think i am facing a lot of problems.

Hey checked out the post tried installin ADB and FASTBOOT
But it is written it works only for devices having S-OFF.
Unfortunately mine is S-ON.
Please help put guys...
Dont have another phone....
Very old thread but it might help someone else. 7 vibrates usually means motherboard failure. This is unrecoverable and can only be fixed by a motherboard replacement
Hi guys,
Okay I'm not an expert on these things but I really wanted another view, so i tried a custom ROM. I followed all advices.
First of all i got Revolution and got s-off on my device. Then i put the 3.24 version and put it in the root folder of my sensation. I also got the su-bin and the rom i wanted (Elegancia). I started my phone with volume down and power. And got in the fastboot menu. It asked me if I wanted to update, so I said yes (obviously). But somewhere it went wrong, it said: "CID incorrect! Update Fail! Press <power> to reboot. That was crappy, but not near as crappy as figuring out that my phone won't start either. Well it gives me the HTC logo, and then the logo with the slogan, but quickly after it dies, and reboots. This goes on and on, until i pull out the battery. If I start it again in volume down and power. It will go to that boot menu but it will also come with the CID error again...
Anyone advice?????

Do you have supervis? Try an official RUU, everything to stock

Hi,
As you say...CID incorrect.
The reason you are bootlooping is because you still have the PG58IMG.zip on your sd card.Delete it.
You either need super cid HERE (step # 4 )
Or you can go HERE and go the non-super cid method.
Once you have done either of these steps, you can then flash the ROM...

Anything?

Hi,
Did you flash the 3.24 firmware(PG58IMG.zip ) first?
If so,you have to delete the PG58IMG.zip from your sd card after it has fully flashed...

Yep I did that, but apperantly the first time takes a long time, after around 10 minutes staying in the loader it got in. Now it works just fine. And rebooting takes under a minute now. Really glad it works! Thanks a lot!!

Hi,
Glad it all worked out.
Hello,
I've posted several weeks ago a thread detailing what I did to stop my HTC Desire HD from booting, however did not get any replies. The post can be found here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/general/help/htc-dhd-rom-recovery-t2827521
To put it simply, I can get into bootloader however cannot boot into a ROM or recovery image. I've tried to factory reset and it seems like it does the job but when it reboots it hangs at the green HTC logo with white bakground screen. If I just let it boot it will also hang at the same screen. When I try to boot into recovery I am presented with a different screen which has a phone with a red triangle with a red exlamation mark and it also hangs there.
Any ideas on how I could resolve this issue?

wish you get help regarding issue soon. well, i can share is that; there are few threads/post in this forum and on other platforms regarding fixing soft/hard bricked phones. i did a little search and found few links. hope you get some idea. i'm not expert in anyway, just trying to help.
try youtube search for your phone.
youtube is blocked for my country, i'm not sure this video is for your specific device but as i mentioned about. it could help in some way(idea).
what i found from google search:
LINK: How to unbrick an HTC device and install the Stock ROM [HD]
next is:
LINK: [FIX] Fix "bricked" HD2\Leo; 1e FATAL HIT
Ok, so that's all i can share. try searching internet for more, whole thing is that you could be able to find solution somehow. well, at least this reply will help in continuing.... : p.
In case, you don't see any help. Don't give up, reply/comment after a day or what you think better to get others attention to your issue.
that's all.
Note: these links maybe not for your device, so do not attempt any tweak/repair instruction until you know what you are doing.

Nice to hear that, Congrats. Adb/fastboot is always the option in case accessible.
Good Afternoon Everyone,
I've got some experience with root/android etc, and have lurked in this forum for awhile. Anyways, a couple of days ago I bought an HTC One M8 off of Ebay. Great phone. Flash-forward to today and I got a message for an OTA update (for KitKat). I clicked Yes not thinking to check my ROM version etc. Anyways, now the phone is stuck in a bootloop. The phone starts black and goes to the white HTC splash screen and then stops. Waits there awhile and resets. For awhile at work today I couldn't get anything else to happen/change so I left it and hoped that I hadn't damaged the phone too badly.
I've gone around and done some reading and managed to get the phone into the boot menu. At this point, however, I'm not exactly sure what I should do to get the phone running again. S-ON is showing as well as HROOT, however, I'm not really sure what the versions etc mean in this phone (Had a Nexus 4 previously with root etc).
Any guidance etc would be greatly appreciated, and I can get any numbers/versions etc that are needed from the boot menu. My guess is that I need to sideload something, but unsure.
Thanks again,
Greg
Hold all three buttons until the phone goes black. Let go of all except vol down. Once in hboot do a factory reset.

Alright, I went into HBOOT again: (Side note: Once in HBOOT I can't highlight any of the options so I just press the power button and the phone goes through a routine to check to SD card. As its checking it states something to the effect of checking something; No Gift!; Checking something else; No Image!; etc
I can get a better description of what it states if needed.
Updated Information:
SD Checking...
No gift file...
Loading...[0P6BDIAG.zip]
No Image!
Loading...[0P6BDIAG.nbh]
No image or wring image!
Loading...[0P6BIMG.zip]
Loading...[0P6BIMG.nbh]
Then the screen blinks and goes back to the boot loader and I can correctly select items with the volume controls etc.
Anyways, after it goes through the above process I can highlight and make my selection. I selected factory reset and the phone just powers off and starts going through the same routine as before: Power on; White HTC Splash screen; power off then on; HTC splash screen etc.
Also, this is for a Verizon m8 since I neglected to mention that.
As well, thank you for your help.
Greg
Can you enter recovery? It would also be helpful to have a photo of your hboot screen, clearly it needs to be readable.
