I saw the thread in development (but can't post there) about remapping the 3-dots menu button using a mod. Is it possible to remap the button to long-press recents instead of long-press home.
Noble Series
The Noble series ROM is a stock-based ROM which says it does this. Here is a link to the thread:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1629224
That is the nightly thread. It has a link in it to the main thread that shows all the features.
I haven't tried it yet, and only the beta version is available. So far, seems to be the only way to achieve this.
I would still rather stay away from nightly builds. If it were stable, then I would look into its quality. I would rather have reliable.

Hi,
I'm using the latest Revolver ROM with a netformer 1.6 kernel (running @1504 MHz rock stable) and I appreciate this and its added features through the revolver app.
I still would like a feature that would *really* improve the tablet comfort (at least for fullscreen gaming) :
- Instead of having the "statusbar quick setting" option adding another dedicated menu allowing to hide/show the statusbar and to close this dedicated menu window, I wish to have directly in the "power menu" the ability to show/hide the statusbar menu (avoiding to open another menu window, to click on the right entry then to hide it...)
- Adding a "back" feature button in the power menu (since this will be the most used and missing one when you're hiding the statusbar).
=> That would allow the user to quit any app (game) and to get back to the "desktop" and use any shortcut he like to launch another game without having to : 1) show the statusbar again, 2) exit the app (with the back button), 3) launch the new game, 4) hide the statusbar again...
PS : I also have a Nook Color running latest CM nightly and they've added in the "power menu" those buttons, plus (but I think that must be genuine on this tablet since it includes a physical button allowing the statusbar to be back when pressed on) a direct statusbar icon to hide the statusbar. I don't know if that would be possible to get on this ROM but I really think that would rock, even more that the direct "hide/show statusbar" in the 'power menu'.
Sorry to post this here (I don't have the ten required posts to be able to post my request directly to the Revolver ROM thread) and for the bad english btw.
Great ROM anyway !
Cheers from France !
Id like more sound options . And I cant find the app for screen sesensitivity

Hi
Flashed the RootBox v2.2 ROM (a combo of AOKP, CM10 + tweaks) a while ago, and some support is missing.
Couldn't find answers in the dedicated developer's thread: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1806401
Nor here.
1. Long press on home screen doesn't bring up the shortcuts/widgets menu, so cannot create shortcuts fast.
2. Cannot record a call (no mic button on the dialer).
3. No voice recording built-in ICS/JB app - had to search the Play and download one.
4. Cannot increase the amount of home screens - have only 5.
5. Cannot minimize the home screens in order to see them all and select one. Used to do that using a pinch gesture.
6. Cannot go straight from the first home screen backwards to the last (i.e. recursive support).
Happy for any tips, :good:
Cheers, Gaby

It depends what launcher did you choose. If you choose Apex you can do number 4 and 5 for sure. In apex go on apex settings, homescreen and then manage screens and you can add and remove how many screens you want and choose which to set as default.
When it comes to gestures such as pinch to preview you can enable it in gestures but I do not know whether you need the pro version.
Regarding question 6 I do not know what you mean.
Apex has question 1 as well.
If I am not mistaken AOKP does not support call recording.
Hope it helped you

Thanks!
Indeed I've installed the default launcher. I'll install the Apex as you suggested.
Re Q #6, I meant I couldn't scroll backwards from the first home page straight to the last.
Thanks the the quick replay! :good: Gaby

You can do that in Apex as well. If you are running on Jelly Bean I suggest that you use the Beta Version of Apex which is found here http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1452663
If you are using ICS you can use the normal one found on their website. To enable gestures I think you need to pay for the pro version.
To enable the feature to move from the last screen to the first screen you have to go into Apex settings, Home Screens, Modify home screens and set the default screen as the first one (by putting a star on it). Then go in behaviour settings (from apex settings) and select home screen action --->>> go to default screen. In the behaviour settings you can enable pinch to zoom etc.
If you wish to install software as a system application you can either:
1) use titanium backup to push it to the systems folder
2) Install root explorer, copy the apex.apk and paste it into the system folder. Restart the mobile and then you will have it as system application.
If you need more help do not hesitate to ask, I'll do my best to help you.
Do any of the recent custom roms (especially the ones that have multiwindow) have the option to zoom in the browser by sliding your finger up/down the right side of the screen? Or is there a way to add this?
I understand it was a feature or bug in some unofficial verizon rom releases, but I really like the functionality. But I'd also like to update to a rom with multiwindow support.
I found the helicopter dance to have become rarer with the sense 4+ OTA and accompanying hboot.
I couldn't post in the development section for Paranoid, so am posting here. The PACman ROM (based on 4.1JB)used to have the feature for turning of the hardware buttons but the latest doesnt seem to have.
Is there a way we can disable the hardware buttons relying on the Paranoid's pie, and thus getting rid of the annoying helicopter dance??
Thanks a lot.
I hope posting in the general section here does not violate the rules.
Thanks again.

Well am no developer, nor have responsibility if u bake your devices. However finally managed to be able to do it. And am sure there are many noobs like me, who want to get rid of the helicopter issue. I couldn't find a generic guide or one for the HTC One S.
In the PACman ROM (should work similarly on cm, AOKP, paranoid and other AOSP ROMs, have no idea about sense), in the root explorer go to system - usr - key layout. In it edit the file cy8c-touchkey.kl. Put a hash before every line. Restart your phone and you should be done.
Remember to have enabled the pie or the navigation bar before doing the edit..

Hi!
Please, could you recommend some applications and/or ROM which could help me achieve these things on my Nexus 5?
1. I'd like more customizable Android overall (guess any more advanced custom ROM would achieve it?).
2. A use for the drop-down top menu (or what it is called), from my old HTC I'm used it to show recent apps, however a brightness slider there would be also nice.
3. Customizable home-button pressed menu.
4. Long-pressed back button=menu.
Thanks
Most of the roms have the above features you have mentioned. Head over to Development section and select a rom which suits you the best.
Discussing/comparing roms/kernels isn't allowed over here, so you will have to try it out yourself!
