I had the Legend before but it was almost a year ago, so I can't remember specifics. But I can confirm the Desire S has noticeably better battery life.

I switched from Legend with Mugen Extra power battery and Blayo 0.8.4 rom, with A2SD on ext4, to Desire S Stock,unlocked,S-on, rooted, HTC battery, and performance is far better, but battery is somewhat worse, getting about 20% remaining after a days work, compared to the 35% with the Legend.
(doing more/waiting less, so: more traffic and CPU-use, and less battery power)

I've switched from the Legend a couple of days ago. The battery life on the Desire S is better IMO, but keep in mind that I had it for almost 2 years, so the battery performance on the Legend isn't exactly top notch anymore.

On the Legend I've used my own ROM: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1503972
I'm still on stock on the Desire S. Don't have much time atm to test all the stuff in the development section. Waaay to much

Ok I just got the Sensation and already own a DHD I am torn as to which one to keep. I love the Sensation but noticed the battery gets very hot compared to the DHD . I have read the forum and there is no solution to the hot battery yet.. So now I am torn between keeping the Sensation or the DHD. Any suggestions will be appreciated.
The sensation is dual core. Every dual core device gets a little bit warmer then single core devices.
If your hands are to soft to deal with it, change it back. ;-)
Btw. under normal use my sensation doesn't get really hot?!

I was playing a game on it when I noticed it. Did you get a different battery for yours? How do you like it so far?
In games that's a absolute normal behavior.
I ordered the chichitec 1900mah but it's not there yet.
Sent from my HTC Sensation Z710e using Tapatalk
Yes games will make it much hotter than under normal use because of the fact that they use much more power. As for battery life it is worse than most single core phone because of the fact that you have more to power. The ability to flash custom roms to the device will enable much more optimized roms. This will "hopefully" make batteries drain slower. Also if you look in the accessories section you will see a lot of suggestions on different batteries.

I had a Desire HD since release date and it was a great phone (best i've ever had) but then i won a Sensation from HTC Australia, so i thought i might as well use the newer phone and sell the DHD (which i've gotta do soon).
After using my Sensation for about 2 weeks , i'd have to say it is definitely a better phone. It's faster, has a brighter (& higher res) screen, the batter has been lasting longer and feels better in my hands. Although the DHD is still an awesome phone with heaps of great feature.
If i was you i'd keep the Sensation and sell the DHD. Unless you need the extra money then sell the Sensation & keep your DHD

Thanks I will take a read through.
The Desire HD is still a capable and modern phone. If you have any issues with the Sensation then I would say return it. You can always get it again later on (or get any other, newer phone to come out in that time). You might even be able to score a better price if you purchase it later. So, again, if you have an issue with the Sensation now, then return it and buy it again later, especially when development matures a bit.
If you can't return your Sensation and have to sell it as used instead, then I say just keep the Sensation.

Thanks the sensation is actually brand new just got it unlocked and played a game on it to check the battery heating issue issue I was reading on it.
Get the Anker 1900 mAh battery for sensation from ebay for $10 and it doesn't get hot like the htc battery.

Due to the fact that the Sensation is rootet there is no question. Generally it is better than the DHD apart from the "heat".
So you have a newer faster phone

Ok guys, im going away for a 3 days trip for some business and i really need to have a long life battery ROM on my phone.
Right this moment im using MIUI 1.10.21 but i cant trust it for this job, as its wifi is not that strong and i really dont know why.
Anyway i would like to know which Sense Rom [3.0 or 3.5] would do better with the battery life in heavy[not much tho] usage with a lot of wifi and music ahead.. edit: Beats By Dr. Dre IS a MUST for me ;p
Any ideas.? I really love Sense 3.0 Roms and i would stick to VU but as it seems 3.5 is everywhere and also Runnymede came to the scene
Hello,
Was testing many ROMs the past weeks. Endymion / Hyperion seem both very good and are sense 3.5 / 3.0. You should check them out.
Hope I could help
RCMix 3DS had very good battery life and beats audio. Very few bugs on it to. Just watch out for the volume buttons which can wake the phone up.

Hyperion!!
Based on latest OTA, awesome battery life, and Beats WiFi works well.

General rule of thumb with batteries: you get what you pay for!
Cheap ones may seem a much better idea, but rarely live up to quoted capacity, and don't last as long before needing retirement.

About to go in & place an order - my Anker seem to be draining a bit too much lately, plus the charger that came with the batteries broke - one of the connectors that charge the battery is mysteriously missing.......
Interesting I'll probably pick some off Ebay as they only come in a pack of two. Does checking I assume this will work with the Sensation XE as their all the same phone...

any updates about this battery?
I would recommend a HTC evo 3d battery 1730mah vs sensations at 1520mah . I bought one a few weeks ago and have been very happy with it. And I know were it came from so I don't have to worry about it leaking or frying out my sensation. It won't last you three days between charges but should be good for full day.

How long have you used your Anker - what is the lifespan ? is it daily usage? stock ROM, overclocked? full display brightness?
thanks for the feedback.
I agree, ROMs have no issue with whatever battery you use on your phone.

I have used Anker for the past 3 months. Lifespan I don't know as of now but so far so good. I use it daily, I don't switch batteries. I'm running Virtuous Inquisition rom (great rom in my opinion), overclocked to 1.5 (comes with the rom), auto brightness. Anker isn't horrible! It last me an entire day with moderate usage. 7am- 9:30pm. Which is good. I'm just a hog and prefer longer lasting batteries such as this AceSoft battery. So I guess I'm just asking for too much. But definitely get Anker over stock battery. I'm probably going to buy AceSoft once when I get my paycheck next week and give it a shot since no one else is replying back with results.
I've had my HTC Sensation XE for a while now and I'm looking to buy a new battery for it as the stock one isn't exactly great. I was just wondering whether I should get an Anker 1900mAh battery or a Saner 1900mAh battery. I've heard they're both good but just wanted to know if there was any big stand out points between the two.

I've used both as my anker fried out but that's was just bad luck I guess, both the banker and saner seem to have identical battery life, I can't really tell the difference

Just one last thing, the Saner says "The battery has an integrated microchip, Over-charge/discharge protection, over-current protection" whereas on the Anker it says "Built-in protection circuit to assure safety under all circumstances."
Is there any difference between the two of them?
I currently use my 1900 Anker battery and the performance has been amazing. I am currently running shnizlon's sense 4 rom and most of the times I can easily get through a day to a day and a half with moderate use. I normally have the screen set to it's lowest brightness level and 2g on instead of 3g/4g. I noticed this helps battery performance greatly. I highly recommend it.

+1 for Anker. Bought my Sensation from marketplace and have been using the Anker in it since day one. No problems with overheating and battery life is excellent. Gets me through an entire day no problem.
If you are concerned about the temp sensors, there are HTC batteries for other devices that will fit. I believe the EVO 3D battery works and is in the range of 1700mah. Take a look at this thread for a real good discussion:

If you play games you have about 13 hours, if you use your phone normally i have about 48 hours.
normal usage in my device and lasts for 2 days
sometimes 3 days
My stock battery was horrible, I honestly got maybe four hours of use out of it! Since then I was after extreme battery life. I tired Anker because so many people love it but it just didn't give me the battery life I was looking for so I purchased a Mugen 3800mah battery. Now I get around three days of use before I have to charge. If I'm heavily using, I get two days. This was what I was looking for. Now, I no longer worry about my battery life. It's really made a huge difference for me. But before that, on stock battery, my battery was awful. Must have been something wrong with the battery to only give me a few hours of use.
