I have searched xda and the WWW., and have not found anything similar to the issue that I am encountering.
1. I flashed stock rom UCLB3 (http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1524081) and flashed Entropy512 Kernel
2. Flashed CM9 (http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=160184)
3. Flashed just fine
Here is the issue:
I wanted to put MIUI 2.3.2b Stable ROM and during the flash progress in CWM Blue/Red (CWM ver, doesn't matter), I get stuck at "checking BML/MTD" and all of the sudden the Samsung Logo flashes followed Cyanogenmod 9 flash intro, but then the phone just shuts down.
This only occurs when I try to flash MIUI ROMS, when before I was able to flash MIUI, prior to Cyanogenmod 9 flash.
The phone can be reverted back to stock UCLB3 and flashed with any ROM non MIUI based, but just not MIUI.
Has any one encountered this before or can lead me to possibly checking error logs to see what could be causing the issue?
Thank you in advance
If you really dis search www you should know the recovery you have does matter....
What I would do is Odin back to stock flash cm7 then flash miui ...
Flashing. Miui from red recovery wont work because
It red recovery uses voodoo partitions not compatible with cm7/miui
when you do flash from red cwm you should reboot back into recovery and reflash since.it converts your data partitions
(You should have blue 5.x.x recovery once you reboot into recovery again)
Or re download the rom and see if that's the issue

Thank you for your response.
I reverted back to stock Froyo. I apologize but I neglected to say that I tried loading the MIUI ROM via the Blue recovery and still no go.
I have flashed CM but not CM7 instead CM9 and then tried flashing MIUI no go.
Not sure if CM9 is a completely different ROM from CM7 but I will give that a try.
Note that the 2.3.2 Stable MIUI rom is a ported ROM from I9000 models and currently I am able to flash non ported ROMS such as MIUI SHOCK & AWE.
I think where the issue may be residing is the fact that I am also getting an MBR Checksum Failure message when booting to Recovery.
Not sure if this whole thing is hopeless as no one seems to know how to get rid of the Checksum errors, but I am still able to flash ROM's on my phone just not ported MIUI Roms with file designation of i9000; ie miuiscotland_I9000-2.3.2b-Stable.zip.
Regardless. Thank you for your time reading and replying. I very much appreciate the input.

Thank you for being reasonable and for having a good reply
I like the way you replied it was very "grown up " to say unlike the little kids who just rant about BS. I appreciate it.
All I can say is try flashing other MiUi bulids
There is one who is very very stable but forbidden to post here on xda :cough: galnet :cough: I heard it was really good I tried it
Back when I had my infuse and its really stable ....apart from the regular MiUi bugs
But Google it since we can't really post links here on xda regarding galnet miui

Well I haven't been on XDA in over sixth months but in my times of trouble I require help. Awhile back I flashed one of the first experimental ICS ROMs to my Xoom, it was non fuctional in many aspect but I liked it and kept it. Now, I'd like to get rid of it but I can't install ADB on my new computer (It's a Java JDK thing that I can't solve for the life of me) I tried flashing a new ROM over it but it fails half way through. So how can I get back to stock without being able to flash or use fastboot? Thanks guys.
P.S. Sorry that my terminology is rusty.
Flash a custom rom ics from teameos. It is fully functional and way better than stock. Let me know if you need help with that.

I already tried flashing different ROMs but it won't let me, I just get an error after it tries to install, no matter what SD card or ROM I'm using.
I'd recommend flashing this in recovery: http://goo.im/roms/TeamRogue/Xoom/Recovery/rogue_XM-recovery-1.5.0-rc3.zip
It's an updated touch recovery for the xoom, then reboot and go back into recovery and flash a new rom with that recovery, should work but let us know if you have more issues

1) Rom manager is not compatible with Atrix 2. I would not use it. Why do you need it anyway??
You can use Atrix Bootstrapper to go into CWM recovery . Rest can be done there. Or you can use Boot Menu Manager.
2)Of course! it will still be there! the backup is saved on your SD Card. So as long as you don't format your SD Card. It will be there.

Rom Manager does work with Atrix2. If you're on Stock ICS, you can install CWM on every boot, then flash the Bionic recovery through Rom Manager. That will allow you to use the 1 touch backup in RM, just hit backup rom and everything does what it's supposed to.
Here is the CWM on every boot for Stock ICS.

2)will the CWM recovery exist after flashing new rom or i need to install it again??
when i restore to stock fom JB, it means downgrading the firmware right??
so will there be a chance of bricking or is it same to restore anytime from any version??

No, your Recovery will be wiped after you flash a new rom, but you can install it again and restore your ROM.
But when restoring a rom, make sure you ARE ON THE ROM you are restoring.
E.g. If you flash JB and want Stock ICS back with your backup. First flash the Stock ICS from RSD and then restore your backup from CWM on it.
Or Vice-Versa.
@41rw4lk, Thanks for rectifying that. I did not bother with Rom Manager much.

I don't think any recovery exist after flashing a new rom. We have a locked bootloader, so we can't replace the stock recovery.img, all of our recoveries hijack the boot process to work. CM10 and PA I believe have a built in recovery, and that's about as close as you'll get to having a recovery exist after flashing a rom.
As far as restoring from JB, I believe you can downgrade to ICS, but you'll have to look at the JB thread to be certain. I'm on AT&T so I haven't had an opportunity to try JB (officially). CM10 is based on JB, but for our phone with the locked bootloader, it's more of a pseudo experience and is based on our ICS framework.
As for bricking, there is always a chance to brick, that's part of the mod game, but if you read and pay attention to what you have and what you're doing, you'll be alright.

UNLESS you have AT&T phone you should be just fine with ref lashing the ICS.
YES. there is a big problem if you are not on a ROM you are restoring.

You need to use the CWM on every boot setup, the Atrix2Bootstrap alone won't do.

Yes. I will say though, if you're on an AT&T branded phone with AT&T firmware, do NOT try to flash the new JB FXZ. It doesn't matter who your carrier is, it matters what firmware your phone is using. So, if you're on AT&T then you need to make sure that the things you flash are for AT&T, or else you will brick and that will be then end of that.

CM10
PA
Numa
MIUI (had battery issues, but I think they got it all worked out)
there's a few, you'll just have to look. Most of the time, if something is not meant for AT&T, the devs will post in the description that it isn't compatible. If you want stock ICS back at anytime, you can do yourself a favor and make a backup of your stock ICS all setup the way you like it, so you can restore if needed. If all else fails, there is an Official ICS FXZ that will get you back to stock ICS.

You're killing me smalls. You're on ICS already, you're not downgrading anything, nor can you downgrade ie. Gingerbread. There is no Official JB for AT&T, so that's not an issue. CM10 is a JB based rom built on an ICS frame, (for our phone at least), and again, you're not downgrading.
To make a back up, boot in to CWM or whatever recovery you're using (not stock), and click backup. You might hit up the noob thread to get an idea of the terminology and basics for our device. Not trying to be rude, but you're running yourself in circles. You got to walk before you can run.
Phone is rooted, CWM installed latest, recovery e3 does not check signatures.
Can I just create nandroid backup, wipe phone and install this one rom for example?

Yep.. You take a backup, wipe cache, data and dalvik cache. You are ready to flash your custom rom.. But while changing kernels you gotta flash your stock rom+stock kernel then root then flash new kernel then the custom rom.

Appreciate. So I now will backup and wipe everything and then update it with kies mini. And then will ask more about custom stuff, am I doing right?
The problem about SGS4G is that it is WAY TOO MUCH information about it as well as kernels, mods, articles and you are lost because some of them conflicts with other.
P.S. I spent a week for going into Android stuff and Galaxy S.

Well.. If you were talking bout updating your stock rom using kies... I dont see any use of that if you are going to flash a custom rom. Its just mere waste of time.

it's because 2.2 version is so hard for modding that I didn't risk to update from it.
Now I have modded kernel on stock 2.3.6. And thinking about what ROM to use.
Here is a link I found recently and it is so very helpful! http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1470716

The guide seems good enough but a bit more complicated that it should be. Anyway here are two tips or info for you. First, whatever you do, have Odin and Stock Firmware ready to flash coz when everything else fails, Odin to the rescue and also flash stock firmware (Rom+kernel) whenever you change kernel as changing kernels without doing so removes root access and you cant apply root update on a custom kernel unless it has pre root access. Second, you dont need any kind of manager to flash firmwares and updates. CWM is a replacement to all. But its all your choice.
I Rooted my XT-1033. And having CWM recovery. Now I'm installing custom ROM EHNDROIX V.
I followed all steps. After Installation it stuck at it's boot animation.
I moved back to Stock ROM. Ant solution for this situation.
Flash single sim rom first.. And try to flash the custom rom.. Many custom roms won't work on dual sim version.. And read the instruction carefully
Sent from my XT1032 using XDA Premium 4 mobile app
I learned (through trial and error) that is (at least for the CM 11) impossible on the Moto G to flash the custom ROM from Kitkat. I first had to revert it back to the stock rom without the Kitkat upgrade before applying the CM 11 custom ROM. Otherwise it would also get stuck at boot animation.

common problem.. /data and /data/media needs to be reformatted in order to boot custom rom. but that pose even more difficult situation where the zip file needs to be pushed via adb.
downgrading and installing custom seems to work easily.

Yeah there are very few ROMs fro dual sim variant. And followed each and every step while flashig this ROM. Like wiping Data/Cache/Dalvik. Still problem persist.

Thank you for response. Can you please tell me in details what do you mean by wiping /data and /media. Generally cwm backup is stored there afaik. And downgrading what ?
now wait just a second i own the single sim version x1032 and got it retail with 4.4.2 out of the box, rooted and booloader unlocked. so far ive tried both lego rom (x1032 single sim version supported and another single sim rom supported rom) they both get stuck on bootanimation. Whats my solution? i, no noob and ive had to restore my stock firmware each time after waiting 15 mins each.
btw im installing from a usb flash drive with a micro usb connector directly plugged to phone. dont think its the issue cause it backs up and restores stock rom just fine.
