Is it possible to unlock the network on the phone? And also to S-Off+Root ? I'd like to buy it at that low price
as of yet there is no sim unlock tool nor is there an S-OFF tool, There is HTCDev which will unlock the bootloader to allow you to flash ROMS and ROOT and CWM Recovery, But thats all your getting for now...
give it 1 - 2 weeks the development will skyrocket.
So you think that they could do that?
Of course !! have a look around the forums, There is NOTHING these devs cant do..
hell im running ICS on a 2 year old SGS lol and it works flawlessly...
you'll be suprised whats about to come
I hope so, found some crazy prices on the internet for the T-mobile one s, but we have no T-mobile here..
The low prices on the One S are on a 2-year contract. The phone itself is $600 off contract.
But there will be root and S-Off soon as the phone comes out in a few days.

As someone who owns both, I would recommend you stick it out and wait for the magic of an unlocked bootloader and custom ROMs to unlock the full potential of this phone and its dual-core CPU.
Compared to my Inspire, the battery life, lighter weight, better call quality, better antenna, and what seems to be crisper screen make my move from one to the other worth it.
I came from an Inspire, don't trade for it.... I love HTC phones, but I had a ton of oddities, with it.
There are a ton of things that can be done with out an unlocked bootloader, even ROMs, this phone has only been out a little over 60 days, hang tight there will be a ton of great things for this phone.
If you must trade for a mid line phone think about a used sgs, or an Infuse. If you really want a TOP end then go for an unlocked galaxy nexus.
Otherwise hang tight, and use bloat freezer, for the bloat on this phone, it is not bad for a stock build. If you don't like Blur, go get ADW launcher or Go Launcher Pro, or something like that.

I hope you're asking for cash on top. The Atrix 2 is a far better device compared to the Inspire. Not to say the Inspire is a bad device, but the Atrix 2 has far better specs compared to the Inspire. Good luck.

Don't do it.
I can't say that I'm jumping ship, but since my Atrix 2 is stuck in a bootloop and probably will be until the bootloader gets unlocked, I just ordered an Inspire from GreenCells to get me by in the meantime. As soon as the Atrix gets unf*cked though, you can bet I'll be switching back.
I've had so many f**king problems with this thing it insane. I've exchanged this phone 3 times at best buy cause of the same problems and once w/ AT&T. I don't know if I can deal with the same problems again. Such as screen scrambling "like snow on a TV" also random reboots, just to name a few. there are a lot more things I'm having go wrong.

Instead of choosing the inspire and you don't like the ATRIX 2 then see if they'll exchange for the sgs2. I had a nexus s they exchanged for the ATRIX 2. It could happen....maybe.....

I have a question... I have a Stock Atrix2, its doing all kinds of Crazy stuff, Im pissed off now, they announce a fix for the verizon Droid Slopzor, its been out 15th the time Atrx 2 is out. Its also suffering from many of the same things. I think the Atrix 2 should have been fixed or both at the same time.
Question: Does XDA have a Native Mail app similar to what Motorolas Native app can do, has a select all, and undo tab, dumping trash is a pleasure or in any folder..one click your done.?
I have an inspire I will trade right now I also have an atrix 1 love it been wanting a atrix 2

they may offer you another atrix 2. i wouldnt hesitate to do it if they dont give you a different phone. lemons do happen although very rare but it does happen.

Unless you got your phone online or over the phone, they aren't going to send you another phone, let alone an upgrade. If you got the Atrix 2 from a store, you're going to have to take it back to the store. If you've had the phone for more than a month, they will tell you to call warranty exchange to get a refurbished replacement, but not before spending copious amounts of time troubleshooting first. If you have been with AT&T for a long time, without any shutoffs, or a late payment history, you can try the "I'll cancel my service" routine, which usually doesn't work, because you will still have pay an ETF. Basically, they own you until your contract expires. It sucks, but that's how AT&T rolls.

A cousin of mines wants to trade his rezound for a Gnex... If anyone is interested and is living in the los Angeles area.... he can be contacted at
[email protected]
I tell him he is crazy for doing so (proud owner of a rezound)....
If interested.... Email him... I unlocked it and rooted for him... absolutely nothing wrong with it... 10/10

Well first of all you are in the wrong section...there is a marketplace. Second, the Rezound sells for about $400 mint while the nexus is going for $600..soooo good luck with that!
Also...no, you did not unlock his phone.

haha, and exactly where do you put the SIM card on this unlocked rezound? Unlocked and an unlocked bootloader have two different meanings around here. As for the last part of your comment...well...if the shoe fits, huh?

Sounds good! And I do have a life and I don't live with my mom..haha. I work 12 hours a day in front of a computer and browsing XDA keeps me sane!
I went to AT&T store to see what they can do with my phone before I waste $200 for new one from insurance. They said to go other AT&T store where it has Device Support Centers. I was worrying becuz it was rooted and had chipped on two sides. LOL. They checked to see if my warranty was good or not. It was good til May 21. Then they were doing troubleshoot first. They had to erase and flash something from the computer and it didn't fix the problem and got me other phone at no charge.
Now I have new phone!! And is good for other 90 days warranty. I went home and rooted it again and flashed MIUI 2-3-2b stable on it. Now I want HTC Vivid. LOL

Verizon is not the same phone and you need to sign up for two years. I think it is a good deal, but that is me.

If you guys are still selling your phones, I would recommend putting an ad up on your local craigslist. Before I dove into the root world and unlocked my SG4G to its full potential, I posted an ad up to sell my phone for $200 and got all kinds of offers. This was about two months ago.
Sad to see many people moving away from this phone. Although I do believe it is becoming outdated, I still think its a great phone nonetheless. I'm personally holding onto it because I will be spending a year abroad and have already unlocked it for international use.
Best of luck.

Sent from my HTC VLE_U using Tapatalk 2
It breaks the HTC warranty. Not sure about Tmobile, but I'm would expect the same applies
Yea I kinda figured it would. However thought maybe that had changed with HTC unlock being available and that its been proven with that method that you can't really damage the hardware.
Sent from my HTC VLE_U using Tapatalk 2
Once you unlock the bootloader (which is required to root), you basically sign away your warranty.
Worst comes to worst you can just wipe the hboot partition from recovery and claim ignorance.
