Hello everybody,
I have a little problem/bug with my HTC. I have flashed the rom Saga3D v3.0 that includes Sense 3.0.
My phone wasn't working anymore after trying to flash two times Runnydroid and CyanogenMod, it was blocking on HTC bootscreen (and that for more than 20min)
As a temporary solution i found Saga3D and my phone is working again but the rom normally includes Sense 3.0. In the software informations of my HTC there is written Sense 3.0 but in case I have the interface of Sense 3.5 !
I had the new update before flashing (and new HBOOT idd) and I dont know why I get this problem. I did a full wipe (Wipe data/cache with Revolutionary CWM) and I dont understand why I get again Sense 3.5
Sorry for my bad English
Thanks in advance
download the 4ext recovery control app from market and flash that recovery over cwm! Then reboot into recovery, format ALL partitions then flash a sense 3 rom again eg - Shadow Hawk V2.1 [see mmy sig]
Hope this helps!
Tried to follow your instructions, flashed Recovery.img of 4ext but now it is blocking on HTC boot screen.. Reflashed recovery of Revolutionary CMW and it is working again.. wtf
Is it not linked of my hboot that is in 2.00.0002 ? Is it not more raisonable to wait s-off with new update off revolutionary ?
Every time my phone is blocking on HTC boot screen I must pull out the battery and I'm scared that my phone is bricking (already did 5-6 times because cmd isn't finding phone on boot screen..)
4ext but now it is blocking on HTC boot screen?
u didn't came into the recovery?

I flashed the recovery img of 4ext but when i tried to go into the recovery(with the app or with volume down+power) with 4ext my phone was blocking on HTC boot screen.
I pulled out the battery, boot in normal mode and flashed again the recovery img of Revolutionary CMW. Recovery is working with this CMW.

Yes my HBOOT is s-on 2.00.0002 but unlocked with HTCdev. (People said me that flashing a custom rom was possible with s-on, if bootloader was unlocked)
If you have unlocked using HTCDEV see this thread for a resolution:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=19071114#post19071114
It is possible to flash S-ON but you need to manually flash the boot image for the custom rom that you intend to use after ROm flash.

I think I will actually wait for new update of Revolutionary, I got to much worried with flashing/rooting my HTC. Will try to reset to actually stock rom and wait.
I'm a noob and I assume it
Can anyone please tell me how to install a custom ROM onto my Desire S with the bootloader unlocked via HTC Dev and S-ON?
My guess is that you install CWMR and flash it via that. But you need root access to do that, I thought unlocking the bootloader was meant to eliminate this.
Also, I've been reading that people are having issues installing ROMs this way, they are experiencing a hang at the HTC logo on boot.
Any information will be greatly appreciated, thank you.

After you flash the custom ROM using CWM, you then have to extract the boot.img file from the ROM.zip file and manually flash it in FASTBOOT mode. That is the nature of the unlocked bootloader. The boot partition is not mounted R/W in recovery mode, it is only mounted R/W when you are in bootloader FASTBOOT mode.
Ok, from reading yours and various other posts in the forum, I need to do the following to install a custom ROM with an unlocked bootloader and S-ON:
1. Unlock bootloader via HTC's website
2. Root phone (with gingerbreak apk?)
3. Install CWM via ROM manager
4. Backup existing ROM with CWM and backup files with titanium
5. Install ROM via CWM (wipe data, wipe cache, install ROM)
6. Flash boot.img (HBOOT, fastboot, and flash image)
7.Reboot into cyanogenmod
If I have anything wrong, please let me know. Thanks.

Step 2 and 3 are not necessary. After you Unlock the bootloader, you could then simply flash ClockworkMod in FASTBOOT mode.
1. Unlock bootloader.
2. Flash CWM image in FASTBOOT mode.
3. Backup existing ROM with CWM.
etc.
Successfully installed latest nightly r2 yesterday night :O
All is fine, 3D performance is smoothly and fine...
Thanks for yours posts
I would also like to thank you tpbklake, haven't tried it yet, but I'm sure it'll work!
I will be getting a new unbranded Desire S in a couple of days,
In case it will be running HBOOT 2.00.0002 with S-ON will I be still able to flash a custom rom on the device? AKAIK S-ON only protects the radio from being modified.
sorry, I'm new to this
edit: okay i read its not possible to flash a custom rom, but then what can i do when I rooted and flashed a custom recovery?

Either isn't possible without s-off, look at the index thread, it's all there.
Swyped from my desire s running damn sweet ice cream
I'm on an Inc2 but since it's basically the same I hope this applies...
I'm in the same position as the OP with the newly unlocked bootloader via HTC.
I flashed cwm through fastboot but now I can't reflash through ROM Manager. I installed both SuperUser and BusyBox but both point the finger at eachother saying the other needs to be installed. What am I missing??

Download the latest su-3.0.x.zip file. Then boot into CWM recovery and install this zip file. This will root the current ROM you have installed and then ROM Manager and BusyBox will both be happy.
@korenisko
So you unlocked via HTC dev, flashed custom recovery, wiped all partitions, flashed cyanogenmod, rebooted into fastboot, flashed boot.img via fastboot (fastboot flash boot /pathtobootimg/boot.img, if i recall correctly) and then you were able to boot into cyanogen?
I did exactly these steps (only with 4ext instead of cwm, which shouldn't affect the result) and was stuck with the white bootscreen and no adb logcat output whatsoever.
Currently I am back on a prerooted official RUU (2.3.3), but it still performs really bad and I would like to have cyanogenmod.
Btw: I have a Desire S, hboot 2.00.0002, S-ON, no carrier branding.
Thanks,

The currect way
I Have HTC Desire S with original Rom 2.10.401.8 and HBOOT 2.00.0002 S-On
My goal is to install the Endymon
I read many thread and i understood that the curret way to do this is:
Downgrade My ROM from 2.3.5 ( 2.10.401.8 with HBOOT 2.00.0002) to a ROM 2.3.3 with HBOOT 0.98.00000 (Ex: RUU_Saga_HTC_Europe_1.47.401.4_Radio_20.28I.30.085AU_3805.06.02.03_M_release_199410_signed.exe)
To do this i need to follow the steps from 1 to 7 of this
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=20535265&postcount=26
Now i need to change HBOOT, Change Recovery and Root the phone. To do this i need to use Revolutionary tool for Windows from http://revolutionary.io/ and follow the istruction.
Now i can download the custom Rom and install using this way:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1257731
Is It right?
Thanks
Hello, I just want to share my experience on how i managed to S-OFF my phone. My main problem was that I had the latest ruu on 2.10.401.8 and couldnt downgrade. Even though i unlocked the bootloader using the htcdev .bin file I couldnt install the proper recovery (clockwork mod) nor a previous ruu. So here is what I did.
I first unlocked the phone using the htcdev.
Then I followed those pretty 7 steps mentioned on prev post.
and changed my version to a prev one.
I r e l o c k e d my phone using htc supertool and
clicked my 1.47 ruu exe file. That worked and it downgraded my phone.
After that it was a piece of cake to use the revolutionary tool to S-OFF.
Thanks all the xda community for the infos i got and managed to do it....
cheers

Many thanks for this it has helped me get S-off again after a very frustrating weekend.
Hello to all,
For some reason my HTC Sensation won't boot - it keeps on rebooting on the white htc screen.
It started doing this 1-2 weeks ago. Yesterday I managed to get inside the ClockworkMod Recovery somehow from HBOOT, and restored an old backup. Then I installed a newer radio and [ROM] Android Revolution HD 6.7.2 (the page recommended updating the radio). I also flashed the 4EXT Touch recovery, as it was required by this ROM, so I changed from Clockwork to 4EXT. The device worked for 1-2 hours, and then after one restart, it wouldn't boot again. This time I can't access anything but HBOOT and FASTBOOT.
Of course ADB doesn't work as I can't boot the device.
So the question is - what shall I update via fastboot "fastboot update update.zip" so that I restore my device? Or what file shall I put on the SD Card so that HBOOT can recover it (I have access to other devices, so I can place something on the SD card)?
I've been trying to flash various ROM's and RUU's but all of them give an error.
The configuration inside HBOOT says the following:
-Revolutionary-
PYRAMID PVT SHIP S-OFF RL
HBOOT-1.27.1100
RADIO-11.24A.3504.31_M
OpenADSP-v02.6.0.2226.00.0104
eMMC-boot
Jan 12 2012,17:33:34
I also tried flashing a few recoveries via fastboot (clockworkmod recovery.img and 4ext recovery.img), but could get inside them :/
Let me know what else could I do.
Thanks for the support!
I just managed to get to the ClockworkMod recovery and installed a new ROM - OpenSensation. It worked during the first boot, but then when I rebooted the phone - the same thing happens - it keeps on rebooting on the htc white screen.
Of course I can no longer go to the ClockworkMod recovery.
I also notice that when going back and fourth between HBOOT and FASTBOOT menus, at the top the version for RADIO appears and disappears.
I am not sure if all this is a hardware or software problem, but it is strange that from time to time I manage to get to a recovery and install a ROM which works for a while and then sends me back to this rebooting loop.
Any ideas?
Thanks!
Might be a hardware failure but.. First try ruu and restore to complete stock. Most of the times this fixes the issue..
For finding and flashing a ruu.. Look for ruu info guide by kgs1992 in sensation general section

Thanks for the help. I managed to install successfully the following RUU:
RUU_Pyramid_HTC_Europe_1.50.401.1_Radio_10.56.9035.00U_10.14.9035.01_M_release_223042_signed
but it didn't work... it installed successfully, but the phone keeps on restarting on the white htc screen.
I figured that might be because of the firmware installed (I was on Android 4.0.x), so maybe this RUU is older.
I am downloading right now:
RUU_PYRAMID_ICS_HTC_Europe_3.32.401.5_R_Radio_11.69.3504.00U_11.22.3504.07_M_release_252064_signed.exe , which definitely must be Android 4.0.x so I hope it works.
Thanks for the help and thanks to kgs1992
Ruu is complete rom.. It has everything In it.. When you run ruu you shouldn't consider the firmware, recovery etc etc.. It has everything built in
So when you flashed the gb ruu.. It flash stock recovery, stock gb firmware and stock rom
So when you flashed gb ruu it has turned to complete gb rom.. Anyways less hope that the ICS ruu works fine
Sent from my HTC Sensation 4G using xda premium
Somehow I thought that the firmware is separate, although I wasn't sure.
Anyway - the fact is that after a successful RUU update, the phone keeps on rebooting and couldn't boot even once. I hope the next RUU fixes it.
thanks,
Anton
Still doesn't work after trying a second RUU: RUU_PYRAMID_ICS_HTC_Europe_3.33.401.6_Radio_11.76A.3504.00U_11.24A.3504.31_M_release_266171_signed.exe
The bootloader says:
*** LOCKED ***
PYRAMID PVT SHIP S-OFF RL
HBOOT-1.27.0000
RADIO-11.24A.3504.31_M
OpenADSP-v05.6.0.2226.00.0418

try a AOSP ROM/CM9/CM10 lot of people had these kind of issues and they can boot only to a non sense roms ..may be you could boot fine on non-sense roms too
How would I flash CM9 CM10 or any AOSP, when I have access only to "fastboot". So far I could only flash those RUU-s from a Windows machine, as I can't get to any recovery.
Would it work if I try "fastboot update cm9.zip" or something similar?
Thanks,
Anton

Fastboot update command won't work
As you are soff.. You can flash jbhboot or 3.33 universal firmware with every thing removed except hboot_xxxx.nb0 file.. And unlock the hboot first
Then flash a recovery (you can avoid hboot flash and try a PG58IMG.zip file of recovery) from fastboot
Then from.. Recovery flash the cm9 or any AOSP rom
If you can't boot to recovery even after flashing the recovery fine.. Then try this command
fastboot boot recovery.img
(it boots into recovery temporarily.
From there you will flash a rom)

You can try using Fastboot Commnder
Instructions:
-download tool
-unpack zip and click on .exe application (is a stand alone app, so you have to click and confirm installation, that's all!)
-open tool
-put DHD in "Fastboot Mode"
-plug it to your pc usb
-Wait for "print of device succesfull"--(if fails, check your sdk driver)
-here you go to "misc"
-select: erase partitions (system, cache, userdata, boot) Don't select recovery
-click on "Erase chosen partition"
-Done
You can use this tool to flash a new ROM or even to flash a recovery.img
Your problems might also come from not flashing the correct recovery.
Make sure you have the latest version. Good luck

Hi,
Did you make a nandroid backup before you started.
If so,restore it .
If not,why not?

Use fastboot usb and try flashing boot.img over adb. It worked for me

Yes, firmware 1.17 will ALWAYS cause reboots on android 4.x. Update your firmware (probably to 3.33)
Look here for details: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=21711154
Follow all instructions to update firmware. You basically put the file on your SD card and boot to bootloader. The bootloader should update the firmware from there.

Hi,
I've tried to flash a new rom to my HTC Sensation and have got it spectacularly wrong. I used Hasoon2000's All-In-One tool to unlock my bootloader and root. I then did a wipe clean and installed Inspiration.
The phone had a Vodafone boot screen if that helps - I believe it is the z710e. The install of the rom seemed to go okay but I've rebooted and it's not getting stuch on the HTC quietly brilliant screen.
Any help would be amazing!
Thanks.
EDIT: My HBOOT is 1.27, I'm not sure if I need higher? My firmware I believe is 3.32- when I try to put higher on by putting PG59IMG.zip on my root, my phone parses it but doesn't do anything afterwards. Could this be my problem?

you are still on S-ON so you can't upgrade firmware in that way
do you have 4ext recovery installed?
if not then use 4ext to install the rom

format all partitions except sdcard from 4ext
enable smartflash from it
flash the rom
