Hello people,
When I was a member over at the Xperia Play side of the community we used several DHD and Desire S roms to make a port of ICS.
What I was thinking was could it be flipped over? In that meaning would Xperia Play ROMs be able to be ported to Desire S and if so has anyone got an interest of doing so.
I personally love Sony ROMS due to the framework, timescape, ps suite and many more lovable reasons.

I already have a ROM that has parts from Sony (CyanUX, see my signature), But if it's able to be expanded, i'm in.
I am starting to think that we have taken this porting thing too far....

anythings possible when it comes to porting roms. i might be interested in porting the experia s or the arc rom. completely stock deodexed rom with root. if enogh people are intrested ill get started. i used to have the sony x8 and i ported sense over to that so i can do this

Where were you before XDA? I see you only became a member this month. So all your knowledge came from outside XDA??!! That's gotta be even more impressive!!!
I also remember my nifty little X8 i was surprised on what people were porting to that phone. they managed to even port it with a locked bootloader!.
Anyhow I will start testing a few roms later today see if I can get one fully booted

im working with the x10 rom at the moment. once i got it booting it will be much much faster pase. cudnt get the arc rom to boot just kept giving me loads of errors but i promise ill do EVERYTHING. i can to get this 100% working daily driver for us sony fans
the rom im currently working wih is the x10 rom and the leaked new sony ericsson rom which is ICS stock sony ics with su and deodexed. it will be such a good rom. i just adding the boot.img and im ganna see if i can get this thing booted
i can have this rom booted as the ray has same board as our phone which is the msm7x30. so this is looking VERY good for us sony fans cant wait till its booted
good news everyone i got the rom booting but it takes a very long time. if i can get to home screen ill put up piccys.

nah wudnt go any further. i had the clock on the top right corner and i got a FC then it rebooted i really wanted to port that rom as its ics and stock sony rom :'( i think maybe im ganna look at the GB sony rom then maybe give that ago. but because we have such little for ICS it makes it such harder to get sony ics rom booted up. im ganna give the GB stock sony rom ago now ill keep you posted mate > we got more things for BG so ill be able to boot that up no worries

HI friends! as u all know i hav exams starting 25th to 15th june.
i can't work on something new for now, becoz it would eat my atleast 2 days for building the rom.
so providing a simple alternative, i hope u all like it.
First of all thanks to pual, and lots of others.
i m using this rom since last few days. and its working awesome.
Details:
its based on ahmgskmod desire sense rom
it does not hav a2sd (avoiding till usb bricking issue is solved)
using stock kernel (u can use any other as u wish)
u get approx 140mb free space (max u can get) -> will try to unlock more
usb tether works awesome (htc default)
camera works 5mp.
using launcherpro (best for now)
using diff music app
removed htc rosie & rosie related apps
added android twitter app (best app)
Issues:
using 3d gallery dont use camera icon on top it force closes for now
I wont be able to give 100% answer to questions, senior members please cover for me.
-> cm605 will be updated after exams (sorry but it req lots of work)
-> same thing with froyo
becoz if i put my head in that i wont be able to write my exam.
if there is issue in upload let me know -> my net is not working properly so it might happen

Can I somehow extract your camera fix and use it with the modaco online kitchen? It's really important to me to not have any HTC UI. If what I suggest is possible, which folders from your zip would I need to use?

to be fair i only went back for BT got a long car journey today and need to sync it to my car.
I managed to flash pays vanilla type rom but can't seem to get yours on.

kernel i used in this rom -> is for .75 will update it soon to get it working on .80 as well

Ah fair enough, I wouldnt bother working on it now tbh mate, stick with getting Froyo working properly 2.1 is advanced as it's going to get now.

A quick update on this, we're planning to release the rollout timeframe for the new Gingerbread ROM for Desire (GSM) early next week. Thanks for your patience.

I believe 10 days ago HTC announced Desire won't be getting Gingerbread, because of memory problems.
@htrx, they said htc will remove some of the app so they can fit GB.
Great news, if we get more out of the official version.
And 9 days ago they retracted that statement following a massive rollocking by the community

I think you'll find the only thing of interest are the Kernels... anyone who wants Gingerbread on their device has had it for months... they sure aren't going to add any Sense 3 stuff either which I've been enjoying for a long time. Good job we have techy wizards in this community who know how a ROM should be put together

But it will be a proper Desire GB rom, not a patched together mix of other Roms. I havent switched back to a sense rom due to this.
Im happy with Redux, but with a proper Desire GB Rom Ill be interested

+1 for this, i know what you mean...essentially all hd gb sense are based on rcmixhd or neo´s rom...(include mine..as i have not the time to patch the hd rom complete to make it work for desire)
and if we get it...it´s make/done for desire...so i think it have better performence..

I just saw AOKP port build29 for LG Nitro and build31 for LG P990.
I'm not a developer but i have a basic knowledge and i think all those ppl from Aokp project could easily port AOKP rom on our Lg P920 but unfortunatly they don't give **** about P920 .I'm stuck with that ****ty phone can't even sell it cuz people don't want to buy it.
Maybe we should ask them to port ...I saw their work on other devices and I liked it

LoooL i have ported it it finishes installation then boots and guess what it comes back to my DNA GB? weird it says installation complete. But when i reboot it, it boots back up to my dna gb very weird.. I will have to take a closer look, Looks like it won't be going to well darn it..

Why does everyone seem to think that simply because the processor is the same, the rom can be ported? It also depends on the baseband i/c, amount of ram, optimisations, partitions etc... while most can be resolved pretty easily, it's still very difficult to guarantee the port will actually be stable enough. The best course of action imo is to wait if you want ICS/CM9, or ask the developers of <rom> to port it for us
rootzwiki.com that's the site where all those smart guys uploaded AOKP ICS for many many devices including LG Nitro .You know what i like my O3D it's such a nice phone but there's no support from developers and i'm asking why ?? for example Samsung I9000 (my girlfriend has it) has plenty of roms all based on ICS .Anyway check that website rootzwiki.com maybe we all O3D users need to asked them nice and politly let's do something , we need some action for christ sake i need new ics rom i'm crawing for it like a junky need drugs i need ICS !!!!!!!!!!!!!
I have an idea for every O3d user let's go to rootzwiki and let's ask them to help us to port one of their roms i mean Aokp ICS .I already did it , i registred myself and in development section i started new topic "ICS for O3D" why don't You go overthere and just ask them let's do some action ,because i'm sick and tired that we are stucked with GB bull**** we have to push things up LET'S DO IT

i have try 2 port but he got stuck @ boot logo (every 4 seconds or something vibrate )

Hey man, its a great idea ive use a lgo3d for a long time than i buy me a galaxy nexus..
ive asked the dev directly and wait for an answer

This is just a quick 30 minutes port, i saw a tutorial on how to port LeWa to CM7, but it failed actually so i screwed a bit around with the files and got it booting, I'm not gonna continue any development on this rom, so don't ask me for anything, I have broodROM to take care of already XD
couldn't decide to take the ROM tag or the JOKE tag, since it actually runs i chose for the ROM tag
If you're really bored atm this might be fun to test, else don't even waste your time on it , I actually did no effort at all to make it bugfree, just wanted to get it running
What is not working, almost everything that is needed for daily use
To get past the lockscreen you need to press the home key and then tap menu and back a few times, only this way you will unfreeze the screen. So this is just a fun test, since it sucks so hard to actually use as rom (because of all the bugs, not the rom itself)
Installation:
1. install arco's recovery
2. install the zip in recovery
3. wipe /data and /cache and boot
if you want some laughter you could hold logcat next to it, the errors list is humongous.

I think this LeWa ROM could be a good port, it's has a nice MIUI like design and is extremely lite,
I got it booting pretty easily, so I think a actual port could be made, just like MIUI but of course with the known bugs of CM7!
I'm starting to hate the fact that the i9001 doesn't even have proper AOSP support more and more, If broodROM would be built on AOSP it would be ****ing great , samsung really screwed up their baseroms (if you only look at rom size and ram usage)

and defcomg is the one made some things here and there better(or fixed somethings here and there)
and now ibluemind is the one gonna bring this phone the custom roms we wanted for so long
(well and lets not forget about sammo and thiaiz for their great work on the gingerbread roms)

Actually it all started because of wkpark and his omap4boot.
After his tool was made the rest was easy stuff because i could try everything and no matter how many things went wrong and even if i bricked my phone 100 times i could omapboot my phone and fix it.
Porting ICS after that was only a few tests.
What really helped me with ICS was that in the past i had fixed with teamviewer plenty of SU760 phones for fellow xda members and knew that these phones were compatible because i had SU760 Gingerbread ROMS running in my P920 in the past.
I just happened to have free time those 4 days and was tired of reading posts regarding LG not releasing ICS for P920 all these months and no unofficial progress was made so i just decided to port it because until then i was playing with my SONY.
Thats the whole story.. nothing more nothing less.
So all thanks should go to wkparks for making it safer for all of us to run new things without the fear of getting bricked.
All ROMS are nice, kernels are nice, overclocks are great, smoothness tricks are cool etc etc but an unbricking tool (combined with necessary knowledge on how to use it) is the biggest development that happened for this device.
Regarding this ROM once again a great job from iBluemind.

At first, it's android 4.1.2. Moreover, it's Cyanogen (it's one of the best ROMs, clean Android with improvements).
Is it rather stable? are you planing to release an alpha?
