I am loving the camera on the One X, in my opinion it's much better than the one on the Xperia S.

camera probably better but the Exmor still rules!

This truly is amazing smartphone, i can't tell you how good it is, just freaking gorgeus phone.
Amazing smartphone with amazing camera.

I dont think ImageSense is a sensor. Its a image processing chip if i am not wrong.
Exmor-R is Sony's proprietary sensor.
Although I think it could have been One X's larger aperture (f2.0) coupled with back illuminated sensor that allows alot more light through and then let its dedicated image processing chip ImageSense do its magic.
Although One X tends to under-expose a little, both have amazing cameras

Exmor R is just Sony's branding for a backside-illuminated image sensor. There's every chance the sensor in the One X *is* a Sony BSI chip, although I've yet to see firm evidence.

BOOM
Everyone seems to be trying to put a negative spin on the One X so this makes a nice change.
Best smartphone to date, and the camera is incredible!

Happy you chose the One X over the Samsung Galaxy S3?

http://www.androidpolice.com/2012/0...l-packs-a-4-8-inch-720p-super-amoled-display/
So, the S3 has been revealed and in my Opinion it is U-g-l-y
For that reason alone I feel More confident in having chose the One X.
The 'Eye tracking feature' seems interesting, but gimmicky, other than that, not a lot stands out for me.
what are your opinions?
Was happy before announcement. Still happy now

Loved my SGS2, was waiting for this announcement.
Will be sticking with my HOX, better looking device and better screen imo higher PPI slightly.

And no ridiculous pentile matrix either.
Depends on s-off now for me...otherwise not impressed.
Loved my sg2, loved it. Seeing the sg3 is like dropping my ice cream on the floor - sad and disappointed.
One X looks better, had a better screen imo and doesn't look like a plastic piece of crap.

I'm happy with my HOX, I don't want a S3 ...
The only big con with the X is the battery life which might be better with the S3...
After seeing AC hands on with it. I am glad I got the HOX. TW looked so dated on GS3. Too glossy. Time to pass the next nexus to someone else Google. Back to HTC or give Sony a Shot?
S3 is one UGLY phone. Lol and a pentile matrix screen.
HTC won this year. One X all the way!
Yes it was a good decision to go for One X. Although the removable and higher capacity battery and microSD card slot is a big plus for GS3.
I'm very happy about my HTC One X, I bought it a week ago and everyone was like "wait for the S3 cause it will be better", but out of confidence, I didn't think Samsung is able to make a device as beautifully crafted (In terms of both UI and design) device that's able to deliver a better user experience.
Those were my impressions before the announcement, after the announcement, my One X has a better design, a better camera, a better screen, a better UI. S3 might overtake it in areas like a barometer, battery, microSD and a slightly better processor, but my HTC takes all the specs that are mostly important for me.

HTC One X vs One S vs My Sensation XE

Hi guys not sure if this would be classed as being under the HTC ONE X forum but should be as its aimed at it.
I've currently got a HTC Sensation XE and I'm looking to upgrade to the One X or One S now I'm unsure which one to go with the One X is about £70+ than the One S but has the super LCD 2 HD screen and the other only has the pentile super amoled which is similar to the original galaxy s's where I could see the pixels every now and again depending on the situation etc.
I'm torn between them both as I've been asked to check for any issues with either of them so im wondering is the performance increase going to be there on the one X as I've heard the tegra is slower than the Qualcomm s4 chips quad core wise and the dual s4 chip isnt far off in certain tests, benchmarks and real life?
Could anyone provide me with some useful information and feedback between them and if the performance is a step up from dual core or if its how android used to be not supporting dual core properly till later android builds etccheers

The quadcore for me has been a huge setp up compared to my note. Performance wise it is top notch. I don't care about benchmark scores. In day to day operation it is flawless. The choice is up to you but I would recommend the quad one x.

One X..
Superior display( RGB IPS vs pentile)
Superior build quality( polycarbonate vs some metal)
Bigger screen
Much better performance
Stunning looks( talking about the white color ofcourse)
N trust me ..u don't wanna be stuck with. Pentile display..its sucks ..especially while watching movies n videos..sold off my Galaxy Note coz of that..u will regret buying a pentile display..atleast I did..

i upgraded from a Sensation XE recently to a One X and i have been loving it. Sense has become smoother (albeit not earthshakingly smoother as the XE on ICS is doing pretty okay) and the screen is awesome.
One thing. I checked out the One S after using my One X for a few weeks. I could actually see pixelation. Kinda surprised since everyone says its not that big an issue. Seems like our eyes adjust very quickly to better display
S

My friends wife has the S, good phone but I would pay £70 just for the superior screen, let alone other upsells. OneX all day long.
Ill be honest I'd go for the x also...although I like my s...still want the x even now.
More for cm9 then the phone maybe...
Still what worries me also with the x is the amount of dodgy devices having to be replaced
Sent from my HTC One S using XDA Premium App
As you asked this in the One X section, 'course a lot of people will tell you to get the X. Though (imo) it really depens on your needs.
I've got the One X for about a week now. I have to say, it is an awesome phone. I really really love the screen. Too bad it is this huge.. It just doesn't fit quite well in my hand. (true, my hands are kind off small) I used to have an HD2, which is only .5cm smaller yet way easier to hold and use with one hand. As I cycle a lot I find this quite important.
If it wasn't for the screen and dev support (don't get me wrong: both are very important!), I would actually buy the One S. In everyday usage the One S is just as fast (maybe even faster) as the quad One X. Unless you want to play a lot of high quality games. If there is any difference at all with 'normal' usage, you won't notice the 0.05 seconds. Also the S' battery life is better, and it looks and feels better imo. This is something really personal though.
But yeah.. Once you've seen the X's screen you won't be satisfied with any other.. Just don't buy it because you think a quadcore phone will surely be faster/better.
Just my two cents.
Yeah as said the screen on the X is much much better. I compared my X to a S in store and was actually surprised as to how much better it is. Also coming from the GS2 the X doesn't really feel that much bigger in hand, and I got small hands. I got the grey one, which looks awesome in my opinion. Even better than the white, but that's personal preference of course.

The One X has way more dev action, and its is likely to stay that way
As you are posting on xda I'm guessing that it is an important factor for you to consider

Black HTC One mini Leaked Images

Hey Everyone!
I couldn't fund any better place than to share it here, please point me out to another section if this isn't the right one. I was reading gadget news when i came across this news about the Leaked Images of the Black HTC One mini. I myself haven't still got my hands onto the HTC One so i thought maybe i should ask in this forum that how has your experience with the HTC One been? Do you like it? How many of you want a smaller HTC One like the HTC One Mini? Thanks for all your help. Looking forward to a constructive discussion.
Update 18/7/13: Just in case you guys missed it, HTC One mini has been officially launched by HTC
The One is a great phone. The only advantage of a smaller one could be better battery life? Not sure what battery is going into the mini?

That looks a better idea to me, having it recessed.
Noticed that it also has the flash on top of the lens, is that a new placement?
My One has the flash to the side of the lens. Might be because mine is the silver model or because it's the UK model?

I just got my One yesterday and I was initially unsure whether I would like the size. After having hands-on time with it I actually really like the size. I'm coming from an original HTC EVO 4G and what I find amazing is that even though the One is larger it feels like it weighs slightly less. The only real dislike I have is the placement of the power button... kind of wish it was on one of the sides as it takes some finger stretching to get to when holding in one hand.
BTW, I should mention that my wife also got an iPhone 5 yesterday as well and the One just totally puts it to shame IMO. Somehow the screen on the iPhone 5 seems smaller than my old HTC EVO 4G and it definitely doesn't "pop" as much to the eye as the One. I was honestly kind of surprised in the disparity. And for the record I own a Mac Mini, iPad, and MacBook Pro so it's not like I'm anti-Apple or anything, but when it comes to phones I think Android, in particular the One, just eat the iPhone for lunch.

Lol what makes you say that? HTC One Mini if it is just a smaller HTC One has the potential to be just as successful. That size market is quite large and I imagine would appeal to a lot of people.
My only concern is if they changed the Mini to a plastic body. Hopefully they keep the metal unibody.

My sister loves the one except she thinks it is too big. Her husband has a one so she has played with it for a while. She was thrilled when I told her a mini was coming out. She is also coming from an iPhone 4s so that could be apart of the size issue.
So the mini has its place but just not for me.

Phone won't be useless, I want to upgrade my old Desire and this is probably what I'm looking for! I like design, I like it being small (although it's not too "mini", better than big brother). Rumoured specs are fine (especially for Desire owner, I won't play demanding 3D games anyway and it has smaller resolution than One to compensate). Hope to see the price soon.

Camera vs older 8mp phones?

How would the photo quality be vs older phones 8mp camera like the HTC Sensation. I always hear talk about megapixels not being the main concern, so I wonder if I replaced an HTC Sensation with 8mp with the Moto G, if the photo quality would be on par or better due to difference of optics or focal size?
i recently upgraded to the Moto G from Sensation, and i think the quality is about the same.. However i think the colors are better on the Moto G but that may just be me.

Thanks for much for your reply! So you aren't dissatisfied with the camera coming from the Sensation, right?
Yeah im definitely satisfied with the camera.:good::good:
I also feel that Moto G takes it's shots faster, but that can just be because i had a buggy rom on my sensation.
I always thought my Sensation took great pictures, with pretty fast shutter speed. If this is relatively similar, I could live with that.

I think the camera is terrible. Granted, I'm coming from an iPhone 5, but still. I'm pretty sure it's also worse than the Galaxy Nexus, which was no gem either.
My Moto G camera is so bad that I start thinking it's faulty. Needs perfect conditions and fair amount of luck to take a decent photo.
Video slows down at times so it's practically unwatchable. My phone is Tesco UK branded. Even my three year old Galaxy Note's camera seems totally different league.

No, it's not, I own both.
The main problem of the MotoG camera is the noise reduction and blurring, but this is done in software.
I modded the cam app and made test photos in stock condition (filename with NR) and the same photo with my modded cam app without noise reduction.
The chip is able to get decent details but the software blurs the sh*t out of it

I wouldn't say, it is generally worse than RZi.
Both cams are mid range, MG has by far(!) more capabilities in the dark, whereas RZi has some more detail in bright light condition.
The camera needs an update. Those pics are clearly being ruined by crappy software.

Currently I have a Sensation as well, and very strongly considering to buy the Moto G. My only concern is indeed the camera, which needs to be decent because no one is going to walk around all day with an DSLR. A Dutch review of the Moto G contains some pictures made with it, and those look pretty bad to me: Sample pics
Let's hope it's something software-wise which can be fixed with another app or through an update.

As much as I hope it could be the software, I just think its the sensor or w/e.
Surely they would've ensured the software worked well to produce decent pictures after the Moto X backlash, which they fixed.
Hey maybe I'm totally wrong who knows maybe the next Camera update will tweak the camera and its app.
Photos may improve too when gogole allows raw images through their new api they're working on, which should improve quality.

Need Evita Community Help ( Leaving my fate in your hands )

Okay I know I've only been here with you Evita users for what 6 months and I have developed a few roms ( kickdroid series ) and made a few modpacks... And everyone seems to enjoy my work from what I see and I thank all of you for your time and support..... but it's time for me to move on to a device that will get kitkat with sense 5.5 or whatever sense version comes with it, I will still own this phone and develop for it just need a new device... But here is my issue, I have a few phones I've been wanting but I'm not sure which one to choose because there are features that attract me to wanting them all but I can on choose one.... so I need your guys help on choosing
1. HTC Droid DNA - 5" 1080p display with global capabilities ( Gsm/Cdma ), 8mp rear camera, 2mp front facing camera, with 2gigs of ram.
Advantages - and just recieved sense 5 4.2.2 and according too Football it will reciece kitkat too...
Disadvantages - Only issue is the charge flap falls off and when it comes to Verizon they have very secured bootloaders
2. HTC One ( gsm version ) - 4.7" 1080p display, 2gigs of ram, 4UP camera, zoe, BoomSound, and snapdragon 600 processor 4 cores...
Advantages - is receiving kitkat of course......
Disadvantages - but I've seen drop test with this phone and the metal around the speakers fall of and I usually drop my phone off surfaces on occasion and don't want to ruin a expensive piece of equipment..
3. HTC One Mini - 4.3" 720p display. 1gb L3 ram, dual core, BoomSound, zoe, 4UP Camera, Snapdragon 400 processor
Advantages - First of all I have used this phone and love the feel of it in my hands, and according to football it will recieve kitkat......
Disadvantages - But I'm not a person who likes to go from a bigger screen to a smaller screen. And not only that it feels like it's just a slightly update HTC ONE XL. And same issues as I would have with the HTC ONE
4. HTC Desire 600 by VM - have played with the phone and kinda like it but seems as specs have degraded with HTC new sense 5 devices, even know it contains all the features found on the HTC ONE..
Advantages - Cheaper to buy, Has all features on the HTC One Minus Camera And processor and ram
Disadvantages - VM ( sprint network ), low development
5. HTC One Max .... Just put it this way it's a beast with a 5.9 1080p display, Amazing Battery ,
Advantages - huge phone and the bigger the better for me , will recieve latest OTAs , amAzing battery.
Disadvantages - no major change from the HTC One except for size and battery.
Please help me everyone. Will be appreciated.

Or sometimes you pour so much into making the right decision, assuming your getting the best, and the day after you buy it something new is announced! Just keep an eye on press releases from HTC.
Sent from my One X using XDA Premium 4 mobile app
The Mini and the Max are oddball mid-year releases, that are almost certain to be relegated to obscurity, low sales, and poor community support. Like the One X+, they seem like devices just meant to fill the gap in the schedule until the release of the next "real" phone (M8).
The One is a great phone. But we are closer to the release of the M8 than the previous generation. So I agree with the above votes to wait for the next wave. Even more so with the DNA.
I'd go with an HTC one developer edition. I mean you can wait for the m8 but as far as I have seen it is a small upgrade to the HTC one. When considering, I would look into camera. The one xl witch I own has a great camera. The one witch I also own has a downgraded camera. Yea it has zoe but you can get that on the one xl with no trouble. I don't do a lot with cdma so I don't know about how development is for verizon or sprint.

The HTC One doesn't have a downgraded camera. Just because it has a lower count of megapixels doesn't mean it's worse. It uses different technology that doesn't require a huge amount of pixels to create a good image.
