Hi,
I recently got my Teclast P85, and managed to soft-brick it after installing busybox 1.19 with the installer (previously had bb 1.18.x). It starts booting, shows the teclast boot logo, and hangs there.
I'm unable to reflash using livesuite because my PC no longer recognizes the tablet for reflashing (I've previously reflashed it few times, to ICS, and back to GB, so I think it's not technicalities). Previously, when I held the menu button, inserted the USB plug and pressed the power button few times -> live suite would run and offer to reflash. It no longer does it (I hear windows "ding" when I plug the USB in, but I no longer hear the 2nd one when doing this procedure).
I've read about reflashing via the OTG port, but wasn't able to find any further info about it.
I'd appreciate any pointers or suggestions. Thanks in advance.
Well, I managed to reflash it afterall. I used the same procedure as described above, just tried few more times, and finally it worked...
Got same problems, its broken line in init.* script that uses /system/bin/busybox for mounting /data, just wait some time(idk why) and reflash in FULLFLASH mode pressing back/menu button and connecting to pc, NO POWER BUTTON!!!

Hi
I have an ASK 748SP tablet, model info "crane-evb v13" with Android 2.3.4 installed.
I have not had success with flashing a recovery mode.
My device is not on the ROM Manager list.
flash_image responds with "Error scanning partitions: No such file or directory."
The device was strangely rooted when I bought it from the retailer. The instruction manual strangely says to boot into recovery mode by holding Vol + and the power button. I called the support company and they said that a recovery needs to be installed first. Using Root Explorer there is no recovery folder. (/recovery) - is there supposed to be?
Sorry if all of that doesn't make sense. I'm a noob around here.
So my question is how can I flash a recovery mode on my device OR how do I flash a ROM via my computer? (and make backups.)
PS: I do not have fastboot and am hopeing to upgrade to ICS.
Any help would much be appreciated. Thanks.
Have you found anything out yet?
I purchased a 5 point capacative screen 7 inch tablet from Ebay (NEW) about 4 weeks ago. The name of this tablet is Tablet PC (LOL). But under About Device and model number I get the same crane-evb-v13, Android 2.3.4, Kernel Version 2.6.36-android. Other than a minor issues with a keyboard, a retarded partioning, and getting Netflix to stay in sync (voices and video out of sync) the unit has been fast, responsive, and over all good considering I paid $128 new for it.
Have you made any head way as to if this unit can be rooted?
My tablet surprisingly came rooted like I said, I have tried rerooting it but didn't succeed. Unfortunetly I have bricked my device but hope to recover it soon.
@I get the same crane-evb-v13, Android 2.3.4, Kernel Version 2.6.36-android
I have Android 2.3.4 too (or should I say I did, ) Kernal Version 2.6.36-android, and I too have minor issues with the keyboard.
Retarded partitioning - I think so too - once again - flash_image failed, I seem to have /mnt/sdcard instead of /sdcard. The sdcard is built in which kind of confuses me.
Thanks for your reply, hope you can get your device rooted. If you find anyway to install recovery mode, please tell me.

Hello,
Hopefully everyone is having a great night. I'm having a slight issue rooting my phone and have searched for a solution, all to no availability.
Anywho, I've been following the official G2X GB Root thread (http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1056847) and have gotten to the part of flashing NVFlasher. Everytime I start up the program and plug the USB cable into my phone (with both volume buttons held) and run the flasher, my screen's backlight comes on (screen is still relatively black) and I don't get the S/W message that I should be getting.
I've tried on my desktop and laptop and have gotten the same results from both. Does anyone have any idea on what it could be?
Thanks in advance.
When you hold both buttons while phone is off, and plug in USB, you'll only hear the noise from your computer when something is connected.
The phone will look like it's still off. When the computer makes the noise you can let go of the buttons, then run nvflash.
That's if you installed the apx drivers.
If you're still lost then have a friend/pay someone to do it for you.
Hmm I read that you have to keep the volume buttons pressed until the flash completes.
Anywho, it seems that the flash has worked. It's just nothing was displayed on the screen. I rebooted the phone while holding volume down and low and behold, I was sitting in CWM.

If you upgrade your ROM with KDZ or official method, you can try this method to flash and root your phone at one time.
When flashing kdz, LG update tool will extract files to %ALLUSERSPROFILE%\LGMOBILEAX\Phone. If we replace recovery.img with CWM recoery before it write recovery, CWM recovery will be available when finished flashing, so that we can root the phone easily.
Hi, this situation is kind of strange and I hope it's just the battery and not the whole goddamn phone.
What I'm dealing with at the moment is:
The phone doesn't boot
When plugged onto charger or USB cable it boots but stuck at Google logo after a blink and stays there. Also, Home, Back and other buttons are lighten.
When "forcefully" put into fastboot mode, e.g. after plugging it onto USB and instantly pressing Vol Up + Power it stuck there as well, volume rocker no more response neither does the power button. Also, I notice there are no commands at the end like "USB int" etc we see normally.
Fastboot or ADB returns no device found
Please help. I personally believe it could be due to battery, what do you guys think?
Thank you.
As long as you can see the google logo, your device is not bricked. GIve more useful information; like your computer operating system, the last thing you did before this happened, etc.

Thanks. My OS is Windows 8.1 Update 1. The last thing was to install UPDATE-SuperSU to root so that I can install ROM Manager to update Recovery but the installation was aborted so I attempt to flash it via Fastboot with success. Then, wanted to install SlimKat but it couldn't let me mount USB storage so that I can put the .zip file. I, then stupidly click on install via ADB but didn't know how to go back so I pulled the battery and powered up; used ADP push command to transfer said the file, but again for some reason I had to pull the battery and since then I am in above position.

Put the device in bootloader and plug it into the computer, be patient, my phone is rather slow to get detected sometimes.. (Up to 30 min.) Check your drivers on the computer, try rebooting the boot loader from just pressing the power button (while in boot loader mode)..
If all else fails, read up on Wugs NRTK page and about ODIN...

Hi, device doesn't go into bootloader without plugging it to computer (I've to press required buttons BEFORE plugging OTG cable). And when it boots in fastboot mode it doesn't let me press any button either. I kept it plugged in for sometime as well when it when it was at Google logo; will try to do the same while in fastboot mode too and let you know. As for drivers, same computer was used before when it was working and it detected just fine immediately (gave me a pain to find the right drivers though - PDANet was a life saver).
EDIT:
I should mention that I broke the OS before this happened by formatting /system folder and wiping other data from CWM recovery - I think, I also rebooted it without flashing the ROM as well.

I recently had to update my drivers on my computer.. after it did an update, my phone wasn't recognized..
Try Wugs Nexus Root Toolkit,.. use the options for "bricked".. do this from the bootloader screen (power/volume +)...
I don't have experience with ODIN, so you'll need to read that forum/threads...

The problem is, even the Toolkit doesn't recognize the device no matter what. Even the keys for ODIN don't work, aren't they Home+VOL+ and Power?
EDIT1:
Kept plugged in for little longer as suggested but it heats up (it's too hot here) so I plugged out. Going to be running it off of Linux and lets see how it goes. :fingers-crossed:
EDIT2:
Tried Adam's UnBrickable method on Linux and even that couldn't find device. But that was to be expected since Adam clearly mentioned in his post that this tool isn't for those who see anything on their screen.
Whelp! Currently I can only see I:\ drive in device manager and that's all under portable devices and that's all. I see the same even in BIOS boot options, it's listed as "Google".
Guess need to close this thread now.
Hey, so I had recently tried learning about flashing and custom roms on android, and I had flashed twrp with magisk on my lenny 3. Because my device seems to be unpopular, roms like lineageOS aren't available for it, only some sketchy roms are.
So I was trying to flash a rom with spflash tool, ticked all files except recovery.img cause I didn't wanna remove TWRP in case something went wrong, but I was prompted with some message saying the flash would only work with "Format All + Download" instead of "Download Only", so I selected the format+download, but it seems that by doing so it ticked recovery.img back, formatted all files from my phone and flashed something that doesn't boot at all. What I don't understand is why after doing this I can't reflash the phone. Whenever I tried to use spflash tool again it just didnt detect my phone again. No data signal whatsoever. It also doesn't make the connection alert sound whenever i connect it to windows like it previously did. Perhaps cause of the formatting... It's not a cable problem cause I've tried many different ones.
TLDR My dead lenny 3 doesn't give any data signal when i connect it via usb after a bad flash, so I can't reflash it to fix it
What I've tried:
- Reinstalling VCOM, CDC and ABD drivers on 2 windows computers, spflashtool still couldn't detect my phone and do the flashing;
- Using a stock firmware installer like the one from the blog below, on both computers, after reinstalling the drivers, still couldn't detect my phone.
- Tried charging it on my pc overnight to see if I could somehow boot into recovery, tried long pressing Power + Vol Up, Power + Vol Down, Power + Vol Up + Vol Down. Nothing boots it. I also tried holding Vol Up as I connect it via USB to see if it could connect but nope. No data signal.
- I have adb and fastboot installed, i tried both abd devices and fastboot devices commands, on both pcs, to see if my device was listed at all, and it wasn't.
Any suggestions on how to be able to flash it again? If I could boot it into TWRP i'd be all set cause i have a backup... the problem is that my TWRP is gone and even if I still had it I can't boot my phone (Even tho I left it charging)
Any help would be appreciated, and if this isn't the right forum to ask for unbricking help, where should I?
Hi,
I'm having troubles after following the guide here - https://wiki.lineageos.org/devices/guacamole/install
I initially had stock Android 11 with latest update. I've followed the instructions, all went well until I rebooted to system. It just tries to boot for a few minutes, then it restarts and does this again. Doesn't seem to boot.
Is there a way to fix this?
Also, would be possible to get back to stock rom and how?
Thank you in advance!
Managed to fix, in the end. Was a real headache.
If anyone is having similar problem and they have to unbrick their phone, I suggest this thread - https://forum.xda-developers.com/t/...l-to-restore-your-device-to-oxygenos.3954325/
Follow the steps in that thread. To enter EDL mode, you will have to turn off your device, hold Volume UP and Volume down (without power button) and while holding insert the USB cable into the phone and into your PC. By doing so, it will be detected by the computer and will show up in Device Manager.
The most annoying issue I had was the phone was connecting for a few seconds, then disconnect. What worked for me after many many tries was using a newer image, mine being an international device I used 10.3.8. I opened MSM from the 10.3.8 package and Device Manager, connected the cable to the computer, but not to the phone, I've pressed volume up and down, connected the cable to the phone while holding volume buttons and as soon as Qualcom driver showed up in Ports (COM & LPT), I hit start on MSM.
If it still gives you the error "Sahara Communication Failed. Please try again after power off phone" try with a different package version, for me this one worked, but before that I've tried with a different one and I was getting this error.
Hope it will help someone, at some point. I know how frustrating it is and if I helped you be less frustrated than I was, that's a win.
