Nope this was the old Radio that came with the GB update.
Sent from my HTC Desire S using xda premium

Can i copy the files into system/lib using file manager?

You'll need a root file manager, either that or do it from adb
Swyped form ym Dersie S unsig XAD Permuim

Yes i got es file explorer installed. Thanx for the reply mate.

Maybe anyone not need it, but i feel my DS drain battery less than before i replace my RIL. 8 hours over night for 0% battery .

In my room, i got only one bar on umts connection. now i got 3 bars.

Help Please!!!
I've just updated my RIL from the files above and I now have no signal at all.
The radio I am running is PG88IMG-20.4801.30.0822U_3822.10.08.04_M
I used ADB to update the RIL and my phone then was unable to report what Baseband version I had. I then reflashed the Radio and it now reports correctly, but I have absolutely zero signal.
Since then I have tried to install 20.4801.30.0822U_3822.10.08.04 instead (from this thread http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1178001 and my phone now hangs on the white HTC screen.
Got the 'old' Radio back on and managed to reboot after clearing Cache + Dalvik. Still no signal at all. From the settings menu, if I try to 'Search Networks' I get "Error while searching for networks" immediately.

Do you have an old nandroid to restore back to? These steps are over kill but I'd
From recovery
advanced Restore (boot, system)
reflash radio
Clear dalvik and cache
Reboot

Thanks Ben. I haven't actually got a current Nandroid as I enjoy rebuilding Reaper from time to time. I had just finished doing a full wipe on everything and then reinstalling Reaper (+ latest patch) and it comes up with a working radio. The odd thing is that this system only has 2 of the 4 files in the .zip above, these ones;-
libhtc_ril_switch.so
libreference-ril.so
are not present on my system. I don't know enough about the radios, but do CyanogenMod based ROMs access the radio in a different way to Sense ones? I am just confused why it took my entire system out in such a spectacular fashion when other people report it working fine.

All the ROMs need those files ...but:

Do NOT flash any libhtc_ril.so into an AOSP ROM. We're using a RIL library designed for an AOSP system, flashing any of the Desire S stock ones, which are designed for a Sense ROM, will cause all manner of issues.
By all means, update the radio, but don't use the accompanying libraries or files that come with it.

Maybe this can explain why you got the problem.

@ammenRA
Thank you very much for clearing that up. I did wonder if it was a Sense / AOSP issue, but now I know.
Won't be doing that again in a hurry...
Just as an update;-
Thankfully the files modified had been backup-up onto my PC so I was able to modify the original script, delete the two previously non-existent files and then replace my original ones back - rebooted and it is all back as good as it was.
Thanks guys for your help.

[KERNEL][MT3G 1.2/LE Fender] CyanogenMod 5.0.7-test1 kernel patch *PROPER*

INTEGRATED WITH CYANOGENMOD
Please use the latest CyanogenMod for the dream/sapphire
CyanogenMod versions 5.0.7-DS-test2 and later have these patches integrated.
Here's the kernel for CyanogenMod 5.0.7-test1.
THIS UPDATE.ZIP WILL ONLY WORK WITH STOCK CYANOGENMOD 5.0.7-test1
Please follow the instructions for flashing CyanogenMod, then install this update using the recovery image.
MT3G 1.2/LE FENDER USERS: DO NOT FLASH DEATH/DANGER SPL that hboot is just for the size of /system, and the mt3g LE Fender/1.2 has plenty already.
"32B" USERS (except Rogers Dream; see bcrook's port): This will work on your phone too.
This kernel is exactly the same as Cyanogen's, except it has support for the myTouch 3G 1.2 / LE Fender, and a fix for some memory corruption that caused system crashes on that phone.
UPDATED 2010-05-01
Remapped some of the I/O memory to an address outside of vmalloc (stability)
Updated the binder patch
UPDATED PATCH ONLY 2010-05-02
Accuracy correction for the binder patch commit message, no code affected.
UPDATED 2010-05-03
Fixed zone alignment (stability)
This updates fixes the last crashing bug that I have reports for.
UPDATED 2010-05-03 #2
Fixed battery drain when phone is sleeping.

*Removed Information Regarding the Patch, due to the fact it is no longer needed as of -Test2
The patch is no longer needed for the LE/1.2, support for this device has been included from Test2
The current version of Cyanogenmod (eclair) is 5.0.7-Test3 and can be downloaded here
If you're already rooted, simply:
DO NOT FLASH DANGER SPL, IT IS ONLY FOR G1/DREAM THERE IS NO POINT INSTALLING IT ON A 1.2/LE & WILL BRICK YOU
- Boot into Recovery (I use RAmon 1.6.2G)
- Wipe Everything
- (Using USB-MS if desired) Copy the 5.0.7-Test3 zip file as well as the optional google apps zip file onto the SD card
- Flash the 5.0.7-Test3 zip
- [optional] Flash the Google apps zip [to get youtube, gmail, google sync etc]
- Reboot (allow it several minutes for it's first boot)
A couple things to note if you missed it above:
Clock Speeds
Cyanogenmod has a minimum 128mhz, and 528mhz maximum clock speed on all Dream/Sapphire devices as defaults in the kernel. The stock rom has set 245mhz min, and 384mhz max. As a result after applying the CM rom your device will feel faster. Since there's full kernel support , you'll be able to easily underclock (or overclock) with any supporting application (I use SetCPU)
Tethering
If you want to use wireless tethering, I strongly recommend Bluetooth Pan, it works well even on a charger (the wireless tether app has bluetooth mode in setting), where as the Wifi mode, will drain battery within half an hour even if the phone is on a charger.
Upgrading from a previous rom
IF your previously installed rom is 5.0.7DS-Test1 or Test2 (as obtained from cyanogenmod themselves) you should not need to wipe. If you're using the previous 4.2.15.1 and upgrading to 5.0.7 rom, you might not need to wipe but its safer to do so anyways.
If your previous rom is a "port" of 5.0.7 or 4.2.15.1: Then its in your best interest to flash CM's official rom as linked in the OP, then apply this patch. The reason being is because a 'port' doesn't contain CM's original kernel, so there may be a number of things that are not in a ported kernel, but are already there in CM's official kernel, as a result the patch onto a port may not only be incomplete but incorrect. So when using zinx's Patch ALWAYS use the official CM rom he links to and not a 'port' of it.
Awesome work! Just tested it and it works perfect!
I downloaded the kernel, wiped flashed then put the kernel on, got a LOOOOONG black bootscreen, but adb logcated to see that it was booting, then the CYan bootscreen popped up and everything is working.
just flashed...booting now.
I have the black bootscreen also, but logcat is showing output.
The bootscreen will probably be normal on subsequent boots.
Might try prash's new bootscreen, looks pretty cool.

If your previous CM is 5.0.7DS Test1 then you don't need to do a wipe.
Otherwise if its 4.2.15.1 refer to the 4.2.15.1 thread, or do a full wipe, flash 5.0.7DS-Test1 then this update.
If your previous CM is a "port" of 5.0.7 or 4.2.15.1 it will be in your best interest to wipe, and flash CM's official rom from their site before applying this patch. The patch is only intended to be applied to CM's original kernel, not a port of it, since ports do not contain CM's original kernel.

I backed up my data and apps with MyBackup Pro.
Then I did the following:
I wiped everything
flashed official CM5 rom
flashed gapps addon
flashed CM5 patch from zinx
It booted up fine, I signed in with my google account.
I then installed a few apps, including MyBackup Pro. I restored just my call log, SMS, & MMS, nothing else.
I rebooted, and now I'm stuck in a boot loop. I just get the black screen, never even the android screen.
adb logcat shows activity, but it appears to be looping.
Even removing the battery and rebooting doesn't help. Looks like I am going to have to wipe.

Since adb logcat shows activity, that means you have a chance to grab Zinx a crash log.
Simply type this
adb pull /proc/last_kmsg kmsg.txt
(you might have to spam it a few times so you can catch it when the device becomes available)
once you got that, paste the kmsg.txt to either pastebin.com or http://paste.pocoo.org/ and link it here for him to figure out why its crashing.
I'm going to restore my nandroid backup and try Backup for Root Users and see if that works better with CM5.

Question... the previous rom that you backed up on, was it a donut (1.6) system?
Also were you using Apps2SD... a wipe won't wipe that

If I had to guess, the restoration tried to place those files into the locations they'd normally go under a 1.6 system on a 2.1 system and as such screwed with the user-space. That's most likely what happened since the problem didn't occur until after you restored your 1.6 backup onto 2.1
The mybackup pro and similar apps should only be used to restore files onto the same kernel they backed up from.
Understood. I knew their were a lot of changes between 1.6 and 2.1, but I just figured things like sms and call logs would be in the same place. Oh well, no big deal, the benefits of CM5 far outweight the desire to save a few SMS!

some widgets needed to be reloaded, but all is well now.
So they didn't do anything worthwhile like lift fps cap?
Did it break root?
hopefully this does not break root.
Ill be the test dummy....backing everything up now. will let you guys know how it works out in about 15 minutes
don't know if it broke root or not, i went back to stock a week ago
It breaks unrevoked. I haven't tested for frame rate, but it does get rid of that "grounding" issue. Also system is much more responsive. before when I tried to add a widget it took a good 5-10 seconds for it to appear on screen, now it's instantaneous. Also opening up manage applications is a good 30 seconds faster than it was for me before and it can scroll through the list much faster. Downloading fps2d now. Multitouch visualizer 2 still shows a bit of a lag, so I can't notice much of a difference there than from before.
Edit: Yes 30fps cap still there.
there is a recovery.img included in the firmware.zip within the package that will likely overwrite any custom recovery you've installed already.
I'd be interested in if this breaks nand rooting given that there is a raido update included as well. Anyone given this a look yet?

So does running the update break Toast's root? I have been holding off on getting the update.
Don't ever push an OTA update from Sprint if you want to keep root. There's a chance it's going to break it everytime.
Let the XDA mages cast improved .zip on the update so you can flash it from recovery.
Or wait until one of the ROM devs integrates the fixes into their ROMs and flash those. I know TrevE is already putting them into DamageControl.
well my first post. All other post have been helpful. For the update it does give much better connection on 4g. Was able to download rate near 5Mb. Prev. I was able to download around 3.2 - 3.5

well you will lose recovery. im about to finish the update.zip for everything except radio. i recommend you wait for me or someone to put out an update.zip before flashing.
Calkulin already released an update for everything except the radio.

Just install Real Signal from the market or do what I did and install Signal Status as it give you a more meaningful display in -dBm rather than bars.
Download the following 6bars file and flash with clockworks, don't wipe and always do a backup. As with any changes to the framework file system, it will take up to 10 min to complete the restart after installing. This will flash the services.jar from the Nils' Business Sense v3.1 rom, all credit for the work goes to NilsP and all other dev that contributed to his rom.
I have only installed this on vert. 3.1 and looked to make sure that it will boot and appear to be a fully working 6 bar signal meter. No other testing has been done. If anyone runs into a problem DON'T bother NilsP with question, post them here and I will look into it.
If you need to get back to the stock virt. 3.1 services.jar file then download and flash the StockRestore file.
Is this based on the latest framework?

NilsP has it listed under his ROM information that is is from the official 2.2+, so I would say yes it is from the latest framework. I have yet to decompile it down to smali files and compare it with the latest virt. 3.1 files, but will get around to it later today.

Yes I have it working on Virt 3.2 also.
Anyway to get this on CM6.1?
This also works on the stock rom. Deodexed of course
Apologies, as I'm really new at peaking inside framework files...
I installed the 6 bars on Virtuous 3.2 no problem... looks great.
Now I've started using Ninjamorph to update the framework-res.apk and the icons in there (ripped some of the icons out of the conservative icon framework file and replaced).
But the framework file still has the 4 bar icon series... where are the six bar icons saved? I'd like to do the same thing... find a 6 bar color icon series for the signal meter, and replace this white one.

[ROM][32A][3.22]Stable/Nightly CM 6.1.0 (AOSP 2.2.1) with localized Gingerbread Keyb.

Hi,
just wanted to post my experiences with daily Cyanogenmod-updates.
(I hope this was not covered already...)
There are 3 files which you will need:
cm_dream_sapphire_full-*.zip (http://mirror.teamdouche.net/?device=dream_sapphire)
bc-6.1.0-RC1-ebi1-signed.zip (http://briancrook.ca/android/cm-ports/?C=M;O=A)
gapps-mdpi-tiny-20101020-signed.zip (http://goo-inside.me/google-apps) - optional
All 3 files have to be placed in the sd-card root-folder.
Every morning before I get up I visit http://mirror.teamdouche.net/?device=dream_sapphire with my phone and
download the current nightly build.
Usually it is named: cm_dream_sapphire_full-257.zip where 257 is counted up for each new nightly build.
After downloading I move the file with astro to the root of my sd-card.
Then I switch off my phone and start it in recovery.
-> flash cm_dream_sapphire_full-257.zip
-> flash bc-6.1.0-RC1-ebi1-signed.zip
reboot - done
I have never had a problem with any nightly build yet.
After the flash-reboot I usually uninstall following progs with Titanium Backup:
ADW Launcher (I am using payed LauncherPro Plus)
ROM Manager (as it does not work)
OI Filemanager (I am using astro)
CM Homescreen Info... (pretty useless)
LiveWallpapers (battery/ram/performance eater)
You can find the changelog here when you extract cm_dream_sapphire_full-*.zip:
cm_dream_sapphire_full-*\system\etc\CHANGELOG-CM.txt
Here is how to install the Gingerbread keyboard:
Download your wanted language from here:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=864036
extract the archive
You will need:
/system/app/LatinIME.apk
/system/lib/libjni_latinime.so
copy both files to your sdcard/<path>
PHP:
adb shell
mount -o remount,rw /dev/block/mtdblock3 /system
cp /sdcard/<path>LatinIME.apk /system/app/
cp /sdcard/<path>/libjni_latinime.so /system/lib/
I remember that there were some problems with the camera in Froyo with 6.35 radio...
Someone fixed them?
[Sorry for my bad English]
Are you sure this is working with the new radio 6.35 and 1.76.2007 SPL?
I tried flashing lastest cm_dream_sapphire_full-*.zip and fails the verification of the SPL.
Let me know if I misread you? On the other hand your signature sayis you're using the old radio...
bc-6.1.0-RC1-ebi1-signed.zip is a kernel designed for old Radio. This will not install on new radio. Please correct the Post title.
Thankyou very muck for info and links
As far as I know, carz and Feeyo are the closest to getting the camera fully functioning with AOSP/CM build for the 32a 6.35 radio.
I have informed Brian Crook and the CM team of our issues. I have also informed some of the kernel devs. I'm hoping they help resolve the camera issues and then produce nightly builds specific to the 32a 6.35. Cyanogen recently said that he is considering splitting and separating out their D/S build into 1 dedicated for the Dream and one for the Sapphire. With luck they will get to this item and produce nightlies for the 32a 6.35.
How sweet would it be to have a fully functioning AOSP/CM rom with nightly builds that can be flashed with no effort on porting????
Yes, sorry it is for the old radio.
updated thread title.
anyway in this rom everything is working stable and fast.
even camera.

yes, it is a full rom (you have to flash also gapps-mdpi-tiny-20101020-signed.zip (http://goo-inside.me/google-apps)).
it is 2.2 without sense.
Cyanogenmod is AOSP....

One thing:
is it stable/reliable?!
I really don't care much about UI, i want a stable and reliable rom; where everything is working good, no reboots, no lags...
BTW is this rom fast?! (quadrant score for example)
10x
yeah, its a good rom, just flashed it myself, im using launcherpro, seems fine
Guys, after flshing this rom, i have APN for GPRS and MMS, but my phone won't connect to 3G at all nor to send mms.
Is it possible that it takes to much time to connect at first?
also in Phone Informations it is WCDMA prefered, and 0.0.0.0 Not Allowed ..
also, browser is down (can't open any page)
and can't send SMS (instant Message sending failed)
Any help?

for me it is the perfect rom.
everything is working stable and fast.
quadrant benchmark: 271
CPU: 688
Memory: 188
I/O: 167
2D: 143
3D: 176
I was using alans rom, but it's a piece of garbage and doesn't work (all my calls go straight to voice mail 75% of the time).
Can I use this with the 3.something radio? Or do I need he new 6.35.something radio?
I have the 3 one.
Unfortunately it was VERY unstable for me, it crashed 4 times in one hour, each time requiring me to remove the battery. Back to stock Rogers 2.1.

GOt a small update from HTC

Hi
I got a small update from HTC on my Sensation with ICS - only 15MB
Not sure what it does - any clue?
My version is now:
3.32.401.5 which i think is the same as before
My sensation had issues since ICS (rebooting / overheating etc.)

You're the one who should say what this update is, since you got it. Did it change anything on your phone? Are the issues you had, gone now?
Sent from my Sensation XE.
This update just replaces the old settings.apk, so now there is in security checkbox for installing apks from unknown sources, there might be other changes to setrings apk, but who knows!

Please someone post this ota...
only the settings app was updated, some spelling mistakes got fixed, haven't noticed anything else. Still crappy battery, still random reboots, still "android upgrading" on each restart. the ICS update has made the Sensation unusable. I'm currently using my old Desire...
Ok I found the ota and LMW.apk and Settings.apk have changed
The following is confirmed fixed:
Wifi fixes
Wifi no longer turns on automatically (some say this is true, others say wifi still turns itself on so not confirmed fixed)
Spelling mistakes fixed
Install unknown sources checkbox returns for those that lost it
Below is a link to a zip which is flashable in recovery containing the 2 changed files
http://www.liamstears-dhd.co.uk/ics_ota.zip
For lmw read this (thanks Behold_this):
Its the app that controls the "make more space" functions within the storage settings menu (app where you can clear cache, old msg, temporary files and the like). The original app had a bug where if you tried to remove temporary files from sd card, it would delete other files as well.
This above bug is now fixed, confirmed by Behold_this

I didn't have any spelling mistakes on mine but suffered the crappy battery, random rebooting issues. I have reverted back to GB until htc fixes all the problems with the ICS update. I found the random rebooting very annoying and made the Sensation almost unusable. The last stock GB rom was actually very good and stable compared to the ICS one.
liamstears, what is LMW? forgive me if this is supposed to be obvious.

EDIT: Ok ive just had a quick go over and can confirm that there are many changes in both LMW and Settings
Also I can confirm spelling mistakes are fixed and there are many changes to wifi security and some changes indicating that they may have fixed wifi auto on
As for the unknown sources box I have always had this so cannot confirm nor deny if this has changed

What, if anything, have you changed or removed from the original update package? It was 15MB and your's is only 9MB. I'd like to see the official package.
Can someone please post the UNTOUCHED ota zip?

Because mine is not the original ota zip, repacked it myself as I only downloaded files from the ota not the actual ota package itself
My files are correct dont worry

This is a welcome fix!

lol I just lost 3.5gb of music thanks to this LMW app. I didnt get an ota for this file only settings.apk was updated for me why?
I can confirm that I added an app with device admin permissions and the "unknown sources" option in the security menu did NOT disappear, so that bug is fixed. The WiFi hasn't turned back on yet
I wonder if T-Mobile USA got the latest patched update and are testing for their OTA?
