[Q] Can't change screen brightness - HTC Desire S

Hi Guys!
I had my desire S repaired after my screen broke up. They replaced just the screen, not the touch panel (I went to an unnoficial technical support) and after that I couldn't change screen's brightness and there was a specific zone of the screen wich didn't work. I went back and then they replaced the touch panel with a new one, but the problem still persist, no brightness change neither manually nor using autobrightness and the dead zone of the screen also persists
Any ideas?

Take it back again, which ROM are you running?

I was using Saga3D when the screen was replaced, after that switched to prerooted stock last sense 3.0 and now I'm in cyanogen9 but the problem is equally present

In which case take it back to shop again and demand they resolve the issue that they caused

Brightness problem
Hello mate, did you fix your problems with your desire s, as i have the save problem, when i took mine to the local repair shop, they installed a new screen but i can't change the brightness of the screen anymore

Better do an official technical support. I believe that's much better.

Lost WiFi connection...it would sense other network....but my network would be there and disappear while viewing available network...status would show disconnected...it would continue to attempt to connect with no success....restart does no good...power off and power on brought WiFi connectivity back....30 min later lose WiFi again....this time I pulled the battery....turn WiFi on to best performance....drains battery faster but so far so good....still deathgrip issue tho...
Will a case help deathgrip problem???
Also noticed cell signal is terrible....
Try flashing new radio.
Probably not. A case would cover the back cover and obscure the antennas for various networks etc. A case works on the iPhone 4 because it changes how you hold the phone (I believe).
Try flashing a new radio and maybe a few different kernels.

New HTC Sensation owner

Hey guys,
I am just became new htc sensation owner
In past few month I tried a lot of android phone, but htc stole my heart.
Few question:
I downloaded all my apps from market, what amazed me that i could save nearly every app on sd card. The apps which did not have option to be saved on sd cards on my htc incredible s 2.3.3, now can be saved on SD card on sensation.
I put some apps as shortcut on my homescreen, but after a while, app icons turns into green android system icons. Apps still working, but icons changing. Any idea? Also my gingerbread keyboard saved on sd cards, when i put input method to gingerbread keyboard, it changes after while to default.
Another question
My phone is on O2, i cant see any major branding cr$p loaded in phone. On start up no O2 screen, only one walpaper and one ringtone. I checked for firmware update, and it shows no updates availible. Software number is 1.34.206.1
Does anyone knows when 2.3.4 will be availible for O2 handsets?
So far very pleased with sensation. Battery life not bad. On the first use, lasted 15hr on one charge.
Your shortcuts at bring messed up because the home screen is loading before the sd card mounts. Really its best to instal to internal memory as much as you can, we have adequate flash memory available to us for ask but the most hardened app junkie.

Install on internal storage. 1 GB is more than enough for apps
Swyped from my HTC Sensation
I've so far got 20 apps on my phone and still have 0.99GB internal space - NO need to move them over to the SD card
Thanks guys,
Now everything works perfect, after moving some apps back to phone, issues are resolved.
Does anyone knows when O2 planing realise update?

Quick question, are you suffering the WIFI signal reduction when you hold the phone landscape?
Got my Sensation yesterday, very impressed with it, but have the back cover WIFI issue.

I just tested it in landscape mode, seems to be signal drops but only one bar.
This happens only if i hold phone in both hands in landscape mode, which is not big issue for me.

[Q] Capacitive button / Proximity sensor Issue

Hello anyone
1st thread posted ever...utter noob needs help.
I have managed to root my Sensation and can now easily load custom ROMs.
But one thing I have noticed since I rooted my phone is that the screen will not turn black when I answer call and put the phone to my face. I think this is also connected to the fact the buttoms dont light up if I cover the sensor.
I have searched everywhere I can and cant find anything useful. I dont think it is a problem with the hardware as it was working before.
Hey Mr. Price, thanks for the text. what rom are u using?
well if it was working when it was stocked, have u tried to flash stock RUU
Hey man, cheers for all your help so far. Just found something odd. The home buttons do light up but only when I change the brightness of the screen (i changed it via power widget) they stay on until I press the power button, then back to square 1. Still no joy on the proximity sensor though. Do you have link on how to put everything back so I can start from scratch? Think I was on a different hboot but don't know if that makes any difference.

T-Mo One S latest Rom and screen sensitivity

Just curious if anyone with the T Mo ON eS has noticed the lost of screen sensitivity after update to the latest OTA. I starts to notice that the screen is not as responsive. For example pinch to zoom requires a bit more force or larger movement. In maps it used to pinch to zoom very smoothly and quickly but now I have to really push the screen to register the gesture. Additoinaly, I noticed the screen sensitivity sometimes can be a bit whack like in the lock screen, it sometimes will not register the unlock and ended up clicking on one of the icons.

Not sure about updated since I never updated RUU, i just flash radio. Anyhow, touch screen hardly work on me especially letter E, S, & Z. If touch E, it input W or R, touch S, it input A or D, and touch Z it switch to CAP. This been happened for a few months now and finally I call T-Mobile today. They will exchange me another one.
Anyhow, could it be the custom ROM? I don't know. Some custom ROM work great, no issue at all and some ROM cause it. Currently, i'm on Virtuous Ville+ and it's cause the problem. But then my wife phone is ok and she on Virtuous Ville+.
I did went back to stock by using RUU_Ville_U_TMOUS_1.84 since that's what my phone came wiith... So could it be RUU_Ville_U_TMOUS_1.84 that cause the problem??

Did you try recalibrating the keyboard? It's in the settings somewhere in there.
