I have one problem with my Desire S. When charging with the AC adaptor, the phone is very slow to respond and use . I usually need 2 or 3 times to unlock and can't do anything right. Is this a usual problem?

Strange. Never heard of this problem before.
What ROM are you running?
@Ben - what's up with your XDA App Sig? did you deliberately put it like that?

I'm running the original Android 2.3.5 with HTC sense 3.0. When charging i can't even write a mensage right.
I had the same problem when running stock, since I've been running any other ROM I haven't had the issue. I'm guessing that it is an issue with stock.

As soon as I changed to a custom ROM (CM10 by nk111) i noticed an high speed up due to a lighter launcher...I suggest you to flash with a Custom ROM!

Just downloaded the new HTC Battery widget.
Nothing fancy, it's just a battery icon that sits on your home screen displaying how much battery power is left as a percentage.
When clicked on basic info opens in a new window such as health, voltage and temperature.
Just thought I'd pass it on just in case anyone is interested.
Lol its not new bro, its been around since I was using Android on my HD2. But yes I noticed it wasnt available for the sensation when I first looked on hub so I just ripped the .apk from my desire hd

They seem to have removed it from the market on my sensation, .. its not coming up on a search on there now.
I think if you get the OTA update it will show on your HTC hub. But ill try to rip the apk and let you know.

I saw an awkward thing with my phone . it doesnt matter which rom radio hboot I use .it just happened many times with me and my phone.the thing is whenever say I have my phone plugged in and the phone has say 75%+ charge , if I restart the phone then after restart the phone battery is somehow miscalibrated and shows 100% :O . it just turned off and restarted is it possible to even charge to 100% in this short time? after that I will face terrible battery drain as the battery is actually somewhat 75% which is shown to be 100%.... so try not to ever do it guys cause then you have to recalibrate with the long process of my previous guide of battery longing. terrible thing to do always .. and when you restart or reboot with adb try to pull it out as soon as the code is executed . yes I faced this with adb too. when I wrote "adb reboot recovery" it resarted to recovery but after the startup my battery of 72% became 100% . you can do this or else have your battery to 100% when using that . Hope it helped! and people with desire s please see if this happens with you I know I wrote this so you dont do it but please do it once to see if it happens all you have to do is have your phone plugged to charger having 75% battery restart your phone and see if your battery reads 100% later follow this

I know this has probably been asked plenty of times, but I'm bored of cyanogenmod (again) and wanted people's opinions on the best as we seem to be getting a lot of official support now. Which sense rom is your favourite and reasons why please?
I've had my fun with ICS and am now waiting for a stable release so no ICS recommendations for ICS please.

+1 to endymion v3 here too!! great sense 3.5 rom, excellent battery life and awesome tweaks!
The only gripe I have is the the sense 3.5 dockbar, I find it ugly and somewhat blown up, especially with the text (applications, personalization)
kept changing between the two-button bliss bar and stock 3.5 bar and couldn't settle on either
hope someone would make a sense 3.0 /2.1 dockbar mod for it!!
Is there a way to sense 3.5 rom has a normal font for the screen of our Desire S? Small fonts is something that annoys me a lot, and see how Rhyme rom only has something like that, but it seems that unfortunately proxuser left development of the Rom :/

Yeh.. I sort of got used to it now though
However when I went to use a Desire S in the store again, 2.1 sense, the icons and fonts were massive!! I was like wow!!

AFAIK Hyperion is Sense 3.0 rom, not 3.5, right?
I have had the Desire s since May 2011 so not long after it came out and I have tried pretty much every rom ever made for this device! I have always gone back to the original rom with sense 2.1 because I have found it to be the fastest/smoothest sense rom for our device. No matter how many roms I have installed I have always gone back to sense 2.1 within a couple of days and I would like a new sense rom that is smooth because I hate the cube screen transition on sense 3(it looks so buggy and makes the phone seem ugly as hell) Any help guys?

I agree, at first I hated the 3D cube. But soon you just learn to live with it.
Its a shame because I got my phone around the start of August, and only had 1 month to experience Sense 2.1 before I jumped to Sense 3.0 in September.
I forgot what Sense 2.1 was like!! What Sense 2.1 ROM were/are you running? LBC?
Anyway, just hold out and wait till Sense 4.0A is stable. Its fully 2D and as fast, or is not faster than Sense 2.1 with the benefit of the new Sense integrated features.

Thanks for the help guys. @olyloh6696 I was using the stock 1.47.401.4 rom. I removed the bloatware and It was running quite fast but yes you're right I should wait for the ICS update! Can't wait
Have a really good experience with Bindroid ROM for Desire S. VERY fluid and VERY good battery life.
Guys, can someone help me? I tried all the ROMs that currently exist for our device (Codename Android, JellyTime, AOKP, ParanoidAndroid, CM10), and with every one of them I'm having one major bug - I cannot change the screen brightness.
I tried whatever I could - reflashing, changing it from the Settings app, changing from the Notification Centre, and even rebooting - nothing helps.
I really don't have an idea what could go wrong and what could be the reason, and I'm sure that it's not the fault of any of the apps installed (I got nothing connected to system settings, so no interference there, 190%)
Maybe you can help me?
Device info is:
