Hi,
The release of the stable CM7.1 really encouraged me to finally S-OFF my phone and install it. I used Revolutionary 0.4pre4, and installed CWM 5.0.20. I wiped everything (data, system, cache, dalvik, you name it), and installed the CM7.1 update zip and right afterwards the new Google apps zip. Eventually, I used Fix Permissions, and rebooted.
I was quite happy, until I saw the com.android.phone FC message. It just showed the same message over and over. I updated my radio to the latest version, to no avail. I tried reformatting, re-wiping, reinstalling quite a few times, and I even tried 3 different sim cards. I finally decided to go back to RUU (kept S-OFF), and didn't get any FCs.
I'm really frustrated, since it is my first Android phone, and I really believe I tried everything already.
Thanks in advance.
I got no problem at all until now.
Another thing I've discovered is when I get these FCs, sometimes if I enable the bluetooth, the phone suddenly discovers the network and the FCs stop. That's just very odd, to me.
I really hope that's not a problem with my phone (especially since it does work properly with RUU).

Nothing has ever broken my phone quite as much as when I have done the 'fix permissions' thing. Totally screwed my phone and was FC city. I've never done it since, and never had any problems since. Try going back over your steps and leave out the fix permissions part!
I recently had a quick go with CM7 nightlies and had no issues. This included the last nightly before it became stable which was very close to the stable version.

Tried doing the same process without fixing permissions, twice already, and I still get the same problem.
have you tried this?

Odd. Here is how I did mine, step-by-step. (Do a NANDroid backup before this, and copy it to your PC/Mac.)
1. Install latest 4EXTRecovery from here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1130004
2. Use this to format all partitions to EXT4. (Not sure if you are using EXT3, not sure if it matters, just saying I'm on EXT4 formatting with no issues.)
3. Do the full wipe & manual format routine (including boot) again just in case!
4. Flashed CM7.
5. Flashed Gapps.
6. Flashed Tiamat kernel (1.1.4)
7. Reboot.
I'm used the same radio as in my sig but also doubt that matters. Not sure what else to suggest. Try downloading the ROM again, and compare the MD5 of your two downloads.
Wow, I believe I'm in some big trouble now. I decided to try and get my phone replaced in the store since I just recently bought it. I used this guide: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=17481836&postcount=2 to get back to S-ON, but when I tried to flash back the RUU, I get a CUSTOMER ID ERROR and the flash fails.
I've tried two RUUs: RUU_Saga_HTC_Europe_1.47.401.4_Radio_20.28I.30.085AU_3805.06.02.03_M_release_199410_signed
RUU_Saga_hTC_Asia_WWE_1.48.707.1_Radio_20.28I.30.085AU_3805.06.02.03_M_release_199476_signed
But they both end up the same way. I'm now stuck on the HBOOT screen with S-ON and a big purple security warning (I guess since CM7 is still on the /system partition).
Any help?
Try solution 2 of this guide http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1284196
but replace the mmc....
With
mmcblk0p25
this will format your system partition,
maybe also data could be formatted by replacing mmc... with mmcblk0p26,
after that run the ruu again.

I don't really have access to recovery (it just gets me back to fastboot), let alone Android, so I don't see how I can follow this guide (maybe I misunderstood)...
I have FC with Market. Everytime i try to acces it.

Don't mind the recovery step, just do the commands within adb shell

Have you tried wiping cache and
dalvik cache?
I also had fc after an update, this solved it for me.
If you're using cyanogen, try changing the language to English us, this solved it for some users.

Never mind, I actually created a goldcard in order to bypass the CUSTOMER ID error and flashed my phone back to original and S-ON. Thanks anyways.
Just as a note to everyone, you should really go about getting back to S-ON via this way: Flash any RUU, get the original HBOOT image from that RUU (you can find it in your temp folder while flashing the RUU), and then just downgrade the HBOOT using fastboot. Easier than going through ENG HBOOT, and allows you to avoid these kind of problems (CID errors).
The problem is that you restored "DIALER STORAGE" via titanium backup. Reflash ROM, and don't restore this. It'll work, FOR SURE.

Can you please post the thread that contains the Gold Card creation process (if there was one) so that I can add it to the INDEX.
As no doubt this will be useful to others...

Sure, it's really the same process for all HTC phones and works even on the newest models (Sensation generation). Thanks a lot to EFI from AlphaRev who actually pointed me in the right direction.
I used this guide: http://theunlockr.com/2010/03/10/how-to-create-a-goldcard/
I'm using Windows 7 x64 and when I inserted the card after modifying it, Windows required me to format it (as opposed to what's written in the above guide), but it still worked. Also, since my phone was stuck on HBOOT I had to use another Android phone to get the SD's CID (I used a friend's SGS, and the SD slot to query is mmc2 on it).

Well, I actually didn't use Titanium Backup at all, so nope.
Hi there, before I begin I have no idea where to post my introductory!
So I'll post it here,
HIII! I'm Dave from UK and I own a HTC Desire, Not HD/S
Ok, onto my problem!
Right, a few month ago I rooted my phone, cannot remember how but I did. And I installed Cyanogen. I think it was 7, unfortunately I can't check now.
So these past few weeks my battery has been draining pretty fast, having WiFi on or off didn't make a difference at all and I was charging my phone every 5 hours of so. Remember, this is with the phone on Lock. Not being used!
Yesterday I tried my friends Desire battery fully charged and within 3 hours I got "connect your charger" blah blah..
So I want to try something different, nothing too fancy but mainly something that won't drain my battery as much as that did. Don't get me wrong it an amazing ROM!
Now I went thorough the steps of installing, Flashed Clockwork mod and downloaded a ROM via ROM Manager. I downloaded RunnyMede Stock. Once it had done it prompt me to wipe dalvik, cache and back up and then booted me into Recovery.
From there I got a message, "some went wrong ect.." So I went and made a 1GB EXT partition, took the ROM off my phone and onto my PC and used the Phone to Format the card. Then put the ROM back onto the root and formatted the;
Boot
System
Data
Cache
SD-EXT and then manually wiper the Cache and Dalvik and proceeded with the Flash of RunnyMede
All was well and I chose not to install the App2SD thing.
Phone booted, and got to the Beats Audio and then started to loop.
Tried again and chose the optional App2Sd Mod and same thing.
Tried taking my SD out and booting, different Boot screen but same problem. Phone has been left fo 2 hours with charger in and same thing
I've tried
Cool3d RunnyMede & BlissMede but both do the same thing.
On my HBOOT Menu I have at the top -
BRAVO PVT3 SHIP S-ON
The only ROM I can get to work is Cyanogen, but I want something different.
My Clockwork mod version is 2.5.0.7 if it helps.
Any help will be highly appreciated!
Thanks you, also great Forum!
Salutations,
I recently installed a ICS ROM from another site, was meant to be in beta but it crashed and wouldn't reboot unless I removed the battery everytime the screen went off. I thought I would wipe everything and just go back to the stock ROM for a while until all of the ICS builds have matured.
Sadly this wasn't the case, after wiping everything ( I wanted to clean the SD card etc as well ) the phone doesn't boot, remains stuck on HTC logo if it wants to go that far. The LED is flashing orange and I cannot get into HBOOT.
Any help would be greatly appreciated!
The flashing LED light means u got low battery, so I would suggest you charging it.
to get into recovery remove the battery, and then try again. When in recovery wipe cache and dalvik cache and try to reboot.
The screen-off problem I have no idea how to fix, try re-downloading, maybe u got a broken zip. Or just try another ROM.

Thanks for the responses, I think I must have wiped the boot partition and messed up the ruu. Problem solved when I downloaded a new ROM on my Mac and moved it onto the SD card and installed it. Got quite worried that I might have soft bricked the device!
After I rooted my desire s, I backed up all my apps using titanium backup. everything went right but then my phone kept losing the signal and started rebooting. I flashed cyanogenmod 7 and everything was working again. After a week I decided to restore all of my apps again with titanium backup. When everything was restored, my had the same problem again. When reflashing another rom everything works fine until I restore all of my apps. This problem doesn't appear when i put the phone in airplane mode.
anyone any idea why this is happening? Is it because of my apps?
Hope this helps.

thanks
i already thought it was some app or something so only installed the necessary for now
I'll try it
Now, try installing 1 app at a time .. for a while. . . & I'm sure u'll catch hold of the culprit pretty soon !

Hello mate,
I have similar problems with my Desire S. Have you figured out what was causing the rebooting on yours?
I find if you turn off fast boot it solves the problem.

Thanks for the post. Unfortunately turning off fast boot didn't fix it.
A few days after upgrading to ICS my phone started rebooting constantly. When I take out the sim, the phone is more stable but even without the sim it occasional reboots on its own. With the sim it restarts as soon as it's booted. The first time it started rebooting was after I switched on Mobile network and downloaded my email using K-9.
My phone is unlocked SAGA PVT SHIP S-On HBOOT 2.00.0002 RADIO 3822.10.08.04_M EMMC-BOOT with 4EXT RECOVERY V2.2.7 RC5
I've tried Virtual Saga 1.0.0 and currently am on ICE DS v 4.4.
I'm soo desperate that I've even tried downgrading. That was unsuccessful too :crying: I've tried RUU_Saga_O2_UK_1.31.206.2_R_Radio_20.28b.30.0805U_38.03.02.14_M_release_180220_signed

I started installing one app a time, but after I restored all my games I became to lazy to restore everything, so I only installed the important stuff I use everyday. After that I became infected with a light form of ORD, so I have never ever restored everything again . I got a great rom now, so I think I'll restore everything again. I'll let you know if I find what causes the problem
Miki were u doing anything prior to the reboots?
It is not a Rom issue, could be an app as op suggested. Just run phone and reinstall one by one.
If not it could be Ur battery is loose. Try putting something to give it a better grip. It has been posted before.

rain987 many thanks for the post. I've seen that mentioned too, but in my case it's definitely not a loose battery since there is no rebooting when there is no sim card. Also when I boot it with the sim, I leave the phone flat on the table so there are no shakes that could cause the battery to loose connection. The phone reboots as soon as GSM is established.
I've removed all the downloaded apps except Google Play Store, HTC sync and SuperSU and the phone reboots with the sim card again. I could remove the last three apps, but I'm concerned I might not be able to get them back if I do so. Should I remove them too?
I suggest making a nandroid backup before removing them. If the problem is solved, nice. If it isn't, you can restore everything
Hello!
My HTC Desire was working for more than 6 months with Sandvolds ICS for HTC Desire - and it worked pretty well, few bugs, few freezes. But suddenly my Desire freezes more often and if it freezes, it can't boot anymore and I have to do a full wipe and reinstall the ROM. I never had the problem before, but recently I had to reinstall the ROM like 20 times in the last three days.
Does anyone know what the problem is?
HTC Desire
S-OFF
HBOOT
Revolutionary Recovery
Sorry if someone has already posted this problem, I couldn't find any threads/posts which are related to this kind of problem.
Thank you,
Matthias
could it be an app you have recently started using?
If your forced to re-install every few days you could start with a barebones system and then slowly add a new app every day to see what happens?
Also make sure you wipe everything before you re-install, dalvik cache, etc so that its always fresh.
