I never had this issue before.
I've been flashing ROM for a while without any data issues until yesterday.
The last Rom i was on was AEON and was working great, but i noticed that my data was not working, i use Wifi most of the time.
I used ODIN to flash back to foyo and i still did not have DATA. Usually after flash GTG_'s_Ultimate_Unbrick the data icon would come up pretty fast, but not any moredid some reading and found Heimdall One-click Back-To-Stock UCLB3 i flashed it and the data icon still would not come on.
I have ATT phone and ATT WAP in my APN settings. i did a reset to default and now i ahve AT&T 310 410 but i still do not have DATA.
Any idea on what's going on?
Go to the An settings there is 2 att phone and att wap select wap and press menu and hit reset as default.

I have tried resting APN multiple times and nothing. I have tried going back to stock 4 times using both ODIN and Heimdall One-click Back-To-Stock UCLB3 and i still do not get DATA.
Thanks for the reply.
ok after multiple tries back to stock ( I think 4 or 5 tires) data finally showed up. I went from Odin GTG_'s_Ultimate_Unbrick to Heimdall One-click Back-To-Stock UCLB3. wired...

Hi everyone,
I'm having an issue with my phone where I belive it thinks it is on the Verizon network. After searching the forums, I did a complete odin 2.2 reflash as instructed by the sticky, and although the software works, I only get data if roaming data is selected and signal if it is set to use other networks.
This all happened after flashing it to CM7 and realizing I had no data. I made sure that I flashed the correct zip for the mesmerize and am just confused on what to do next.
i was hoping to do a *228 update and just have them update towers but when i call it it says "welcome to verizon" blah blah blah...
Since I have gone back to stock 2.2 EE19, my phone is no longer rooted. I just can't afford a huge roaming charge on my bill. How do I get it to think I am back on USC? Any help is greatly appreciated.
Here the solution!! t go Back USCELLULAR
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=881064
was thinking the same thing...
Actually, I've already done that with all three of the options for the full restore. Even after it finishes, I have no data and if I do *228 the verizon wireless lady comes on the line.
Any other guesses?

Haha, yes I actually was thinking that when I first tried the *228. Unfortunately, I live in St. Louis and although we don't have great USC data speed, I get there network everywhere. I'm running out of idea. I was hoping someone had dealt with this issue before.
I would flash the rfs formatter from cwr and then Odin full ee19 with repartition. If you do not flash a rom immediately after rfs it want boot up. Pull battery and get in download mode run Odin. There is a thread @ rootzwiki about rfs. Good luck

When I Odin the full EE19, should I have the Re-Partition box checked or unchecked? There seems to be some confusion.
Well I went ahead and flashed the rfs formatter, and then without rebooting pulled the batter and Odin the full EE19 files. Booted up but now I have no connection at all, roaming or not. I am not sure how this even happened. I think I need serious help lol.
Have it checked. After you flash rfs reboot phone. When it gets to samsung logo pull battery then flash full ee19 with reparation selected. You should be good to go.

You can flash rfs then pnp or h57 all from cwr. Then you could run Odin back to stock.

I know this is a dumb question but what CWM should I be using? I do have to root each time right? as I cannot flash the rfs file from the stock recovery? and also although it says install successful after doing rfs, it is one of those only takes 2 secs to install so I am not sure I'm installing correctly. I have tried CWM3 and 4. Thank you for your help.
The red cwr2.5 that you can Odin is good enough for that. I don't think you have to root. If the rfs doesn't work akellar may be right about you being in a dead zone..
You may have to root I can't remember. It's late here on east coast.
And yea the rfs takes 2 secs

Thanks for all your help. I'll keep working on it and try it a few more times. I can't see being in a deadzone here in the suburbs. My sisters Desire has almost full signal right next to my phone, and i've always had signal before this in my house. It's acting as if it isn't even searching for towers. NO bars at all and just a blue cirlce with a line through it. I've gone through all the phone settings as well to make sure I should be connected to a mobile network. Thanks again and i'll post back if I figure something out.
Final Update for the night. I'm not sure what is going on exactly here.
Anyways I rooted, and Installed CM7 from the 7/21 updated
The phone will now get a signal with Home only network selected.
I can only get data with International Roaming enabled.
Selecting automatic or something else other than home will disable signal.
National Roaming is irrelevant.
I am not leaving the country or state anytime soon.
I am on a USC belief plan. Will I incurr charges for using this 3g since I am thinking it is Verizon?
Calling *228 contacts Verizon's Activation Services.
How is it that it thinks i'm on Verizon, and No longer in whatever country i'm supposed to be on?
Something else you can try.
Odin back to stock.
Install ADW.Launcher and long press on the homescreen to make a custom shortcut
ADW -> Custom Shortcut -> Pick your Activity -> Activities -> com.android.hiddenmenu -> DATA(.DEBUGMENU)
Then switch the HDR/1x setting down to cdma only, exit the menu, wait
You should get connection in a few seconds (If you don't, check that you aren't home only in the roaming settings menu)
Go back in and switch to hybrid to get 3G data mode again.
I copied the instructions from another thread where a guy was having similar issues.

Well a whole day of trying various things finally leads to calling USC. I talked to two different technical support people and neither had seen this issue on the mesmerize. Since the phone isn't very old they are replacing it for free as a factory defect under warranty. It is Odin back to stock EE19 2.2.1. Is there anyway they could try to pin this on me when I send this phone in? Obviously I reformatted my sd card and the phone has no visible signs of water damage.
When I had this happen to me while messing with MIUI using EE19 didn’t work for me. I was never able to get it to boot period. I was stuck in 2.5 recoveries with errors.
I flashed rfs then 2.1 with repartition checked then flashed EC10 with repartition checked and then was able to get the phone to boot normally after that I had to do the ADW hidden menu deal.
Then I used Kies mini to get to EE19.
I was on BMc's AOKP for about a month. The GPS was pretty crappy (universal problem I guess) so I flash the GPS fix posted in the dev section. This made my GPS worse, however the rest of my phone was still fine. Since I was going to flash a new ROM to get my semi-working GPS back, I decided to try something new so I flashed the newest stable build of paranoid android to try out hybrid. The phone booted up and then got stuck at activating, I just let it run through and it told me it couldn't activate blah blah blah. From that point on I was out of service. I flashed back to AOKP, still out of service. I Odin'd back to root66, this sent me into a bootloop. So I went though and Odin'd the bootchains -> root66 -> factory reset and the phone booted up just fine. However, I still don't have service. I do have 4g and I can receive text messages, I just can't make/receive calls or send text messages. Also, my IMEI and phone number are correct on my device. Here's a summary:
Reverted back to root66, locked bootloader
IMEI and phone number are intact
Have 4G internet, and can receive text messages
Cannot make or receive calls
can't send text messages
Is my SIM card borked? I'm not sure what else it could be. Thanks.

Not yet, I wanted to eliminate as many possibilities that could be attributed to flashing before I went to them. But if it is just a SIM issue I was going to have them reset it and see if it works.

I am downloading it now to try it. Takes me a couple hours to dl it on my school connection though Has about 25 mins left.
I was running the latest stable version of CM10.1 on my GS3 and all was going well until someone sent me a text message and I tried to respond. I was greeted with the error of message not sent. I attempted to text someone else to have the same error. Attempting to call someone will just hang and eventually say call failed.
I thought it was a radio issue so attempted to flash different modems but had the same result. So I restored my previous rom Beans 11 that was working after wiping and the same issue. Data works perfect, but voice and text does not. I searched and odin'd back to stock VRLG1 and entered *2767*3855# in hopes of that fixing the problem, again no voice/text.
Any suggestions further help? I don't know what else to try!
*CM10.1 was working fine, and then calls/texting stopped but data continued to work without trouble.
*IMEI seems to be intact
*Flashed backup of known working rom and issue still persists
*Flashed back to VRLG1 and attempted *2767*3855# as per another post to no avail and this is where I sit.
Same thing. Installed jellybeans 12 now I can't call or text. Prior text was hit and miss some days....restored stock rooted image flashed other Roms....no help. Dialed the ** number....so screwed. Ayneegry should have backed up my few several times. No idea what to do.

When you say "Data" do you mean wifi or 3g/4g? If you have no phone/text/3g/4g then it's probably your imei. Check under phone settings, see if it's gone. If it's gone you gotta restore, do a search.
If you have 3g/4g then I don't know what the problem is. Sorry, just trying to help
Odin back to ICS and reprovision your phone by going into the dialer and typing *2767*3855#
rgrossie - data as in 3G/4G works no problem... phone showed IMEI still there but followed a thread to restore it anyway to make sure that wasn't the issue...
Edgehood -- I've tried that, and that's where I currently sit, stock ICS with 4G data but doing the re-provision doesn't seem to fix anything -- occasionally a text will slip through, but I'm unable to reply

I hear ya, if I can't figure out what's up, I'll end up having to go back to verizon and see what I can do... It was out of the blue, everything was working and then suddenly it just stopped. Happened on a flash that was a little over a day old, so who knows.
Check Mobile network
I have thiss problem happen occasionally when I flash custom roms. Look under your mobile networks, see if either CDMA/SIM is checked or NV. If NV is checked switch to CDMA/SIM and then reboot. That seems to fix that problem most of the time.
Edit: After some tests found out this doesn't always stick, but I did find out that after switching from NV to CDMA/SIM turn on airplane mode so the radios are tunred off, wait a few moments, then turn airplane mode off. That worked more consistently than restarting it.

Did you ever fix this? I currently have the same problem and have no idea what to do.
i had the same problem but a imei/efs restore fixed it. My imei was not missing but data worked and not calls or text. Changed sim and still same, even odined back to stock and unlockex and rooted no luck restored nandroid no luck. Then restored synergy imei/efs backup and good to go. Hope it helps.
Cruzin' tha Galaxy SIII via Obsessed Rom / "INAPPROPRIATE" Kernel
I had the same issue two days ago when I flashed to the latest MIUI Rom. Here's how I fixed it.
Go into settings, mobile networks, make sure subscription is set to SIM. After that open the phone, type *#*#4636#*#* make sure it's set to LTE/CDMA/AUTO
Reboot phone and all should be well.

If you Odin back to the original stock unroofed ROM, you'd have to take all the ota Verizon updates to vmf1. Then reset your phone.
Pain in the a$$ but has always worked for me. I had same problem running carbon.
I read in another post that Odin back to root66, them reset your phone would work too.

My wife's S3 went haywire this morning. Out of the blue, it lost voice and data. The phone was on Synergy, an older version, for quite awhile when this happened. I reset the IMEI, nothing. I Odined back to stock, and now everything is working, except it has the triangle above the signal bars, meaning it thinks it is roaming. I've tried everything I can think of. Wiped data multiple times, reformated through ODIN several times, it still comes up with the triangle. How can I reset this so the phone doesn't show roaming?
I never had that problem but I did have a problem with the phone not going into roaming. I also tried everything even got a new sim card didn't help. Then I did a factory data reset from the settings instead of TWRP and as soon as the phone rebooted I was able to use it in Canada. Now I understand that you're having the exact opposite problem but have you tried to do a data factory reset by going into settings then backup and reset . That might help. I mean I have done a data reset in recovery but that didn't work.

Interesting. I'll give that a try.
Nope, it didn't work. I'm at a loss. I figured reverting to stock would have corrected it, but it hasn't.
I was up late trying to get this working. It remains stuck in roaming. I guess that's an improvement from having no mobile connection, but I could still use some help. Here are things that I've tried.
Odin to stock. it boot looped. I had to flash the TWRP recovery chain and clear cache before it would boot.
Odin to JB.
Flash latest synergy.
Repair IMEI. It was incorrect when the issue first happened, but now it is corrected.
changed the settings from global to LTE, and other various tweaks.
Something I noticed is that most of the APNs are greyed out under Mobile Networks. Only EHRPD - Verizon 800 and EHRPD - Verizon Internet are selectable. This is not the case for my phone. They all are selectable. I have a feeling this is where the issue lies, but I have no clue how to fix it.
Try to reprovision the SIM
The dialer doesn't do anything when I try using the code *2767*3855# Does it not work after upgrading to JB or must I revert back to stock?
Yes revert back to I believe it's G1/G7 I believe it's something like that

Guys I've tried searching and tried damn near anything I can think of/find here on XDA and other sites.
Over the weekend I got a little sick of my GPS not locking on my Verizon Samsung Galaxy S3 SCH-I535. I was running CleanRom 7 and I believe I was on MB1 - I could be wrong on the basebad that I was on.
Anyways, after doing my normal reading to see what the latest and greatest things going on are I decided I wanted to do a complete wipe like I'd done in the past, update to MF1 firmware, update my radio to ML1, then put a fresh install of CleamRom 7 on there.
So I used to did a format of my external SD then a factory wipe/reset & cache wipe in CWR. I then went directly into Odin mode (Home Button/Volume Down/Power) and flashed the root66_VZW_I535VRBMA2.7z from this thread. I installed EzUnlocker and RomManager. I unlocked the phone, then flashed CWR. I first did a factory wipe/reset, I then flashed the MF1 firmware, followed by the ML1 radio, and finally Clean Rom 7.
Everything was fine except my 4G LTE would not turn on - 3G works fine but no 4G LTE. I've tried everything I could possibly think of. I've flashed to the prerooted MA2 linked above in Odin. I've tried the 2-3 suggestions in this thread, I've tried making my own APN settings, I've tried the thread which has links for people who are returning their phone to Verizon (plain jane stock). Nothing. All of those bring me the same result: Everything works perfectly fine, but the 4G LTE never shows up. It doesn't matter where I am - I know it is not a network outtage as people in the office have no issues and I always have a connection here and at home.
I've already ordered a new SIM card which should show up tomorrow but did I miss anything? I tried everything I could think of. As of right now I'm back at square one where I'd gone back to MA2, flashed MF1 + ML2 firmware, and back on Clean Rom 7. Stuck with 3G. Any suggestions?
Thanks!
Just Odin flashed the VRALG1 4.0 ICS to bring it back to stock found here in Section 5: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1762709. Still no luck.
Am I correct in saying when flashing that it is also flashing the modem/firmware? I want to make sure I'm not missing anything.
I had the same problem not too long ago. My issue was the PRL usually 4G PRL starts with 15xxx but if you go into settings-->about phone-->status you should check to see whether it is a 15xxx or 3xxxx. If the latter a new sim card should fix it right up.
