I have noticed this bug on my Atom with O2 Plus and need confirmation from other users before I try to feedback to their support.
I have found that my Atom intermittently does not sound Notifications and Alarms. Couldn't figure why for awhile then I discovered this workaround :
1.
Using O2 Plus, switch profile to Silent. You will notice speaker icon on the top bar shows muted.
2.
Switch profile back to Normal. The icon at the top bar now shows the speaker as ON (but actually notifications and remoinders will now fail i.e. not sounding)
3.
Go to Settings / Sounds & Notifications / Notifications
On the Event drop down, select reminders
4.
You will see your notification alarm sound with a "test play" button.
Hit the test play button a couple of times, then wait a few seconds.
5.
You will mysteriously see the speaker status in the top bar change to MUTE !!! Click on it, turn speaker back on, close all the windows. Your notifications will now sound correctly at the appointed alarms and calendar times.
It seems the O2 Plus profile when switching back from silent to normal does not do a full job in turning on the notification sounds, just system sound or something like that.
If you carry out this procedure everytime you switch your profile you will no longer have missing / silent notifications !
Can other users confirm this bug / phenomenon ?
Anyone able to write a simple proggy or script to do the above procedure automatically ?
Haven't noticed it before, and I haven't missed any notifications, but you're right.
yeah i noticed this!!!THANKS FOR THE FIX!
just to add.besides notifications, you also lose screen taps when switching from different profiles.this apparently is not fixed by your solution.
Never forget again by reminding yourself in your own voice with Audio Reminder Pro.
Use Google Wear to record, schedule, play, or cancel reminders.
Utilizing Google Now alarms you can create your Audio Reminder without ever needing to type with your device.
Remind yourself in your own voice or with the voice of a loved one.
Be woken up with a daily reminder in a loved one's voice.
Reminders play directly on your device's speakers when autoplay is enabled.
Advanced scheduling allows for selecting repeating reminders on specific days of the week.
Play your location reminder the next time you get home with a location reminder.
Need a few more minutes? Just snooze the reminder.
Nothing reminds you better than yourself.
With Audio Reminder Pro you record an audio message and have it play back after a scheduled time or when arriving/leaving a location.
Forget me not.
Audio Reminder Pro was created when I finally got tired of having an idea or plan while in the car only to forget it by the time I got to my destination. I was constantly plagued with thoughts of "There was something I wanted to do, but what was it." With Audio Reminder Pro I simply tap the Audio Reminder widget, say the idea, and in 30 minutes (or however long I decide) Audio Reminder Pro plays my message back to me over my speaker to remind me. If I'm still not ready for the reminder then I can snooze or reschedule it for a later time.
Use the widget to track the reminders scheduled to go off today, view, edit, cancel, or create new reminders quickly and easily. Now that it has Android Wear support you can handle almost every function directly from your watch. Record a reminder on your watch and schedule it for a few hours from now. If you forgot something you can append the recording from within the Audio Reminder Pro app itself.
Audio Reminder Pro was created to take the place of the original Audio Reminder. It has all of the original features plus much more. Quite literally the app so nice I made it twice.
Location based reminders are still in beta.
Some of the features include:
Google Wear specific functionality such as recording, naming, rescheduling, cancelling, dismissing currently playing reminders, and replaying current reminders.
Date picker for long term scheduling
Interval picker for scheduling a reminder after a designated amount of time
Location (beta) reminders for reminding yourself to buy eggs the next time you are near the grocery store or to say happy birthday the next time you are at your friends house
On call protection: Reminders do not play if you are on a phone call or VOIP call and will instead reschedule themselves every two minutes until you are off of the call
Optional reminder repeat audio reminder until the reminder is dismissed or snoozed
Multiple language support (translated via machine translations so likely to be incorrect at times all your base are belong to us)
Ping tones based on your devices notification sounds
Optional Vibration
Configurable Recording length (Up to 60 seconds although reminders can be appended repeatedly within reason)
Search for audio reminders by name
Save or share your audio reminder reminder audio
Advertisements can be enabled or disabled at whim *sniff*
Audio Reminders can be appended repeatedly as needed
Toggle automatic playing of recording or simply get notified that the reminder is ready to be played
Per reminder options for using popup, notifications, or auto play so you can avoid any embarrassing reminders being automatically played when you are not ready for them
Location search using Google places
Use the volume keys to mute a reminder quickly if you need to
Requirements:
Mounted memory card (SD Card) is required for creating and reading of reminders
GPS and internet is required if you desire to use the location based reminders
Permissions:
ACCESS_FINE_LOCATION / ACCESS_COARSE_LOCATION (used in the creation of location based reminders)
ACCESS_NETWORK_STATE / INTERNET (used for address lookup when searching for locations using a location based reminder)
READ_CONTACTS (used in creation of location based Reminders when you select your contacts list to provide an address)
RECEIVE_BOOT_COMPLETED (Reminders need to be rescheduled each time the device is restarted)
RECORD_AUDIO (used for recording your reminder)
VIBRATE (optional vibration when reminder fires)
WAKE_LOCK (used with the Reminders to ensure the device is woken up on it's scheduled time to remind you)
WRITE_EXTERNAL_STORAGE (used for saving reminders)
The video displays some data from an older version and has come a long way since then
As I am a new user I cannot post a link to my Audio Reminder Pro. It can, however, be found on Google Play here: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.brandon.audioreminderpro
Please let me know what you think. All forms of feedback is welcome.

This is the topic on sony forum: https://talk.sonymobile.com/t5/Xper...pp-content-on-notifications/m-p/1282131#M9749
Can anyone else confirm that iussue? Are you able to silence the notifications...without they "come back" to be active by theirself? Is very annoying...
Even if i set on oreo app notification "low"....when a i receive a message it turn on automatically on "urgent" again...
I found a trick by myself. The problem is that the notification channel on android oreo reguarding an application "prevails" on the settings within the application itself, in this case whatsapp. If we want, as in my case, to receive notifications of a new message only in the notification bar (without pop-up on the screen) and without sound, it will not be enough to adjust the settings only within the application, but we will have to do it in the new "notification channels" introduced with oreo. However, there is one however, if we set the notification when a new message arrives on "low" (without sound and without visual interruption) at the next message, Oreo will change "by itself" this setting on high , with sound and pop-up screen. Even within the application itself the settings will be changed with the sound on, while those regarding the pop-up notification will remain the same, although the pop-up will be displayed theanyway. The only way to prevent Oreo from overwriting and shaking our settings is this: 1) Adjust the desired settings within the application (no sound, vibration on, NO pop-up) then go to the notification channel of whatsapp and set the importance of the message received on "high", then click on it and change the ringtone to "none". In this way we will to not receive the pop-up on screen notification and settings will be respected. It seems to work, although this morning the urgency of the notification was back on "urgent". Again changed, and seems to be back to normal now. Let me know your experience about that.
Hi,
I've just installed a smart smoke alarm... the X-Sense XS01-WT. It uses the Smart Life android app (Smart Life on Google Play), which I've been using for a long time to control smart power plugs, lights etc. But this is the first time it's been important that the app sends me a powerful alarm in case the smoke alarm gets triggered. Whilst I've almost got it right - a custom siren sound that plays even when the phone is in Do Not Disturb mode - I have one remaining problem.
Notifications seem to be limited to a 5 second duration; far too short for me to be certain that it would wake me up when asleep at night. This is shown by going to Settings -> Notification & status bar -> Manage notifications -> App notifications/Smart Life -> Default notification -> Ringtone. There it says " The selected audio file will play for up to five seconds". This same message is shown for every app I've checked.
So I'm hoping someone can help me overcome this five second limit. Knowing that alarm clock apps play their sounds for far longer and have a separate volume setting (so they can always be set to maximum), can I somehow convince the phone that, instead of playing the siren mp3 file as a notification, it should treat it as an alarm which will be played for its total duration at maximum volume? Or, failing that, is there a hidden setting that defines the maximum notification duration?
Many thanks in anticipation of someone knowing the answer!
John
Just switched to sony Xperia from iOS. Couple things driving me batty but I hope there are fixes.
I have notification sounds on, but when I'm watching YouTube, listening to music or on TikTok, the media fades and the notification sounds loud which is so annoying and I don't care to switch to do not disturb or silent every time I want to use one of those apps. Is there a way to have the notifications automatically silently pop up when consuming media https://nox.tips/ https://xender.vip/ .
The qr scanner in the notification shade only opens black and doesn't use the camera when open - is there a way to fix this
The speakers and the microphone are TERRIBLE, I am getting constant complaints from whom I am on the phone to - is there a way to fix this?
Thank you

First of all, Welcome to XDA!
I don't know much about Sony devices and I also don't "i" anything, however, the Android operating system, in general has some settings and features common to most devices.
The notification thing, yeah, crazy right? Crank up the volume on your favorite tune and PING! We shouldn't have to "fix" it, anyways, you have some options:
In your settings, open the app drawer to all your apps, and tap through Settings/Sound & vibration
You can adjust the volume levels for media, call volume, ring & notifications and the alarm. It can be tedious though, I use the Do Not Disturb feature. You can do more than just turn it on and off:
[Based on my Google Pixel 7 Pro, Stock Firmware]
Beneath the "Turn on now" button, first option is "What can interrupt Do Not Disturb", People | Apps | Alarms & other
You can create schedules, set a duration for when you tap the QS tile, and even keep hidden notification hidden. It's one of the most used features on my phones.
I only allow what I consider "HIGH Priority", family and work, everyone else can leave a message. I use Amazon music, so it and the Google don't get along too well, I *think* with other services you can connect with your device "assistant", or whatever AI it has. I don't know Sony devices, did I mention that?
As far as your hardware (cam and speakers), I don't know what to tell you other than the Google Pixel has the best cam experience and most Android phones have crappy speakers. There are some audio mods around here though, they can do wonders for some devices.
Best of luck and I hope you don't go back to iOS,
Nepo
