Is anyone else having a problem with windows detecting the TF101 as a removable device since updating to ICS? Anyone figure out a fix?
Found this thread for the same issue. Not sure how I didn't see it before making my thread...

Edit: If anyone is look for the resolution and doesn't want to read through that thread, flash this image over top of your current ICS build:

Okay, now I know that there are other threads about this, but the issue is that none are specific to my problem. Either they are not for my phone, or my version is different or the thread is dead and with no replies. So I created a new thread.
Anyway, I was hoping that I could get a step by step procedure on how to root my phone and install a custom ROM.
The issue is, my KIES doesn't work (so help me with that also please) and moreover, I'm very new to all this so I don't quite get a few things.
Also, please tell me what are the best ROMs out there and if something does go wrong in the process, how do I un-brick my phone?
So I'm looking for active replies / repliers since I know I'll have a bunch of questions during the process.
Last, when I go to "about phone" on my phone it says "firmware version 2.2", but the little that I've looked up, people run 2.2.1. Does this mean my rooting process is different?
Thanks. And in case you want it, my kernel version is 2.6.32.9
Appreciate it.
My buddy was making a custom app and when i plug my nexus s running ics it recognizes the phone as a usb storage drive but it will not come up on his computer to test run the app. The only thing i can do is open the files of the phone to see whats inside. Can anyone help me with this problem?
I don't think we understand what exactly is happening. You'll have to explain it better.
basically the android sdk will not read my phone and it does not come up as one of the options.
I'm sorry but I'm not able to troubleshoot this with you with the info you provided.
Which phone do you have? What ROM? Which recovery version? Do you have proper drivers installed? Windows/Mac/Linux?
And what does your friend's app has to do with any of that and which app are you talking about?
Hi,
First, i apologize for my english!
So, i'm on rooted device by vipermod, WW ROM on 8.6.5.21.
When the OTA for ICS was coming, after downloading and reboot a droid with an exclamation mark come!
I've trying the OTA after an hard reset but there was always the same trouble.
For launch the TF101 in recovery mode there is also the same problem!!!
So i read on various forums for another people with the same trouble, they managed the upgrade to ICS manually with NVFlash: forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1524302&page=1
My device is recognized in APX mode, but when i launch the bat file ,my device is no more recognized and i can't flashing!!!!
Anyone as the same trouble??
Only B60 series below and some earlier versions of B70 work with NVflash. Which series are you on?
I've a BBO device.
I've search but not found a thread with an history of different series of the TF.
How can i know the date of manufacture of my device?
Ok so I saw this Thread Here
And So my question is can I Update To One on the US Versions In the thread above
Please someone shed some light on what i'm suppose to do here And Keep in mind I'm not rooted
SN Starts with B70
My Android version is 4.0.3
BN is 9.2.1.21
MN Is TF101
Well.. if you're not rooted you can only do two things,
1. Go into settings and hit check for system update, too look for the OTA that was pushed out. (should work)
2. Download the update.zip from the official ASUS site and put it on your sd card using usb mass storage, it will then ask you too update.
Or do you mean something else?
My other half bought a Nexus S a few weeks ago running Cyanogen it is now having a few issues. I want to take it back to stock so it can get OTA updates and what not, and mainly because she asked me to. Problem is I cant really find anything that helps.
I was pointed to this thread:

Problem is on thread two. I get stuck at step one. I cannot get the phone to connect to the PC. It reads as Android 1.0 on device manager with no drivers. I can't get it to register. I think the problem is her device is the i9020, not the i9020a or 23.
I'm really not sure what to do.
