[Q] E FUN Next2 (Nextbook2) Rooting?

Hey y'all.... just got the E FUN Next2 (Android 1.5 eReader) that doesn't even have the real Android Market on there. I'd like to just simply wipe it and put a vanilla install of Android 2.1 or 2.2 whichever is fine with me. However, I can't find anyone out there who's even tried to root this bloody thing. Y'all have any helpful hints or could even point me in the right direction? Here is are the specs for the eReader http://www.nextbookusa.com/productdetail.asp?product_id=1
HELP ME, OBEWON! HELP ME!
Hey, i also just got one, I have been basically searching for the same thing you have with no luck.
I have asked at nextbookusa if they planned on having any sort of update for a newer version of droid and they said not anytime soon.
So i would like to find a way to install droid like you or im thinking of returning it for a dif one.
I second that request!
Got an E FUN Next2 as a gift and I can't leave well enough alone.
Android 1.5 just isn't cutting it! HELP!
Lets go people, thought you all would right on top of this...
I have a programming background and I'd be willing to help if I knew where to start at least.
No headway. Need help!
Ok, since this if my first Android device (received as a gift), I'm not going to give up on it! I've been reading, here on XDA and other forums, and found a ton of other information, but nothing seems to pretain to the Next2.
Found a bit of hope on a thread following the Next3 on androidtablets.net (I'm still a low level forum user, so not outside links yet.) Unfortunately, I tried running the generic root tool Universal Androot with no success (still no root access).
I'm also having trouble due to the fact that the pad has no PHYSICAL home, back, settings, etc buttons. It seems to negate a lot of the basic rooting applications out there.
I realize this tablet isn't the most amazing and spectacular device available, but it has some potential, and I'd like to see what it can do.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.
The more and more I mess with this Next2 the more I figured I got what I paid for. The is a great unit for reading books and minor bs apps..Most of the apps will install but won't work...And most of the apps that are available are bs and have no use...lol This site is usually hot on new gadgets and help the common folk out...Please figure out how to turn this KIA into a Hyundai...lol
So you can root this with Universal Androot 1.6.2 Beta 5. This gives you perm or temp root access. I haven't seen a rom for the device though. I really want to get rid off the the extra os junk.
has anybody had anyluck with the next2?

[Q] I KNOW THIS WAS ASKED BEFORE BUT CAN YOU HELP Root S4 ? Should I ? and HOW

HEY EVERYONE
Im always here and there with phones and finally found a phone I absolutely love, which hasnt happened since I had help rooting a GX2
If anyone remembers that pile of mess
ANYWAY
2 questions
1 Should I ? Ive rooted a phone before and when I did I loved the result I loved finding more roots to run and im the type where I like fast and NEW and I can only imagine that some of the stupid glitches I get are because of the Overlays Sasmung likes to throw on.
I do really like the hover feature and things in that nature though
so my 2 is how to do it , but FIRST
Is there any negatives in rooting.. can you not go back to the way your phone was ever again and what about UPDATES ..
Help Please and THANKS

[Q] Help Rooting Tablet

Ok so we have a cheap android tablet, its an IB Elite 910CA. It was $80 on amazon, cheap piece of crap.
Anyways, I have tried time and time again to get this thing rooted, the way it comes out of the box it's almost unusable because of how slow it is, all we can manage to do with it is update it and take pictures lol.
Does anybody have a similar tablet that they have managed to root, or happen to know a root method that I could try?
PS: I am pretty familiar with this stuff, I don't need a complete step-by-step no0b guide, just some suggestions.
Thanks!

[Q] Just learning about Rooting and now I may have to un root!

Hi guys and thanks for taking the time to check out my thread. The basis of this thread is something that many people have talked about through my research on various forums but I hope you can help.
I rooted my one plus one the other week and was massively impressed by the new functionality of the device. I originally rooted to use the screen mirroring apk made by one of your users which is ace. However I did this to cast sky go to the big screen. Little did I know that sky go is a clever beast and knows if your rooted.
I have tried various root hiding apps to no avail. Is there any way round this at all..... I don't want to have to un root but if it has to be done so I can watch Liverpool FC then so be it. I was wondering if you can dual boot the device with another ROM or even install flash and use the sky go web interface and cast from there. Anyway new to this but enjoying myself.
Any help on this would be great.
Thanks Nic

please help me, kill switch ? !

hello guys,
I found a good deal to buy a Nvidia shield tablet. However the buyer explained that it is the tablet with the y01 batter (the defect ones)
he then stated the device has :
vanill rom which is rooted with ADB and not Kingroot
he used a clean cwm image
system/app/TegraOTA is deleted
android 5.1
then I asked can I unroot and put the most recent official update from google, he said no you should not do that otherwise the tablet will die.
I searched around and there seems something that kills these tablets through a update which installed automatically (kill switch) .
Can someone explain me this, why is it happening ? and how I can use this tablet without the fear of these kill switch thing
Its hapening because a way nvdia wanted to deal with it, they just send to ppl new tablets and then kill the old one with a easiest way and this way is automatic update.
if you install some custom rom on it, it dont get update so nvidia cant kill it, but there is still risk of using it cuz of unstable battery
