I know in Voltage Control (comes with Zeus) and I think SetCPU has it too... an option to make a recovery file back to stock that you can flash in CWM.
If you didn't make that.. I'm really not sure if you have another option.
Are you using voltage control? How do you know your still on 100-800 ondemand if you deleted setcpu?
i deleted voltage control and install setcpu cause its got profiles , i need,it for screenoff , i did not, make, any back up , can anyone please run voltage control and check, out the, default setting?
im using quick info pro to monitor cpu speed
is it 100-1200 performance or omdemand

i just ran safemode-setcpu.zip and reinstall voltage control and delete boot settings and now its back to 100-1200 ondemand . before i would reboot seral times and still got 100-800 ondemand so i guess next time anyone wants to restore back to defaul either remember it or click safemode and extrat a zip from setcpu and delete boot settings from, voltage control

Did you make sure you wiped data/factory reset? Also wipe Dalvick cache... if all else fails, restore to factory, then try again. I flashed BakedSnack v1.3 on my Epic with no problems at all. Also, you gotta flash it thru clockworkmod... good luck

If you're looking for a free option, even easier method is to use Overclock Widget. I believe Hero includes that in his ROM under /sdcard/app.

Oh, had no idea Thanks for the heads up!
i get random freezes too, even at stock speeds. maybe the voltages are too low for my phone. i had to go back to stock. too bad because i like all the tweaks
running for 24hrs so far.. no freezes for me. however, titanium backup doesn't work.

Ran into the same problem, so I restored all my apps using CWM instead (boot up to CWM, advanced restore, choose the image that you want to restore from, restore data). Not really the best way to do it, but at least I got all my apps back.
I've installed this twice now. Both times I started from stock. It seems to work well so far, even at 1.3 GHz. All of the apps that I use that require root work fine. However, it seems that somehow he's disabled any access via adb or term. Anytime I try any command in adb shell or term, I get "permission denied". Has anyone else seen this?
Been running this rom for almost a week. very stable and looks great no issues at all. have setcpu at 1.3 max and 100min conservative. quad scores 1029 best.
Wish hero could make a bare bones rom that has his great skinning, then have zip folder for all sprint, zip for all touchwiz, zip for misc. that why everyone gets programs they want without constantly removing crap and it keeps the rom small and light and fast!!!
great work hero!!!!

I just use WinRar to add and remove apk's from his ROM zip before I flash.
Not a bad idea to format boot, cache, data, and system through the advanced mounts and storage menu in CWM when installing this rom. More or less no errors.... when oced to 1.3 there is virtually no load time with apps or rendering time for web pages.

Don't remove the DRM files - use a startup editor to stop it from starting upon boot or just freeze the processes with something like titanium backup.
Hi guys two quick noobish questions
I'm on super aosp but I like the original boot animation better. How can I change that?
Also everytime i restart the phone,in cpu settings, the governor is reset to ondemand. how do I make it stay on smartass. I'm using netarchy 's kernel btw
Thanks in advance
Sent from my Nexus S using XDA App
The bootanimation can be replaced simply by pushing your desired bootanimation to system/media folder. If you're using root explorer, you can simply navigate there and you should see a bootanimation.zip. Replace that with your desired one.
As for the cpu settings, I believe you just have to check the box that says "set cpu on boot". That should do it.
Thanks for the CPU setting, somehow it didn't work last time. Oh well.
Regarding the boot animation, can I do it without root explorer? But it probably involve adb right? Or use the terminal

Root Explorer, ASTRO, Whatever you like. There are 10+ ways of doing this.
Easiest is to use a file manager such as Root Explorer, ASTRO, etc.
Having root and using root apps can be a great benefit but can also be a great curse. Before allowing any of them to run at boot, make sure the app is stable and not causing you any problems. For example if you are running SETCPU with an overclock kernel make sure the speed you select is stable before selecting the set at boot option. If not, your phone will lock up at boot and you will have to wipe your phone's user data area to get it to boot again; or worse you might have to wipe the system partition and flash a new rom. Android was designed so the system area is never written to by apps to prevent such problems. With root we can do great things, but we can also wreak havoc upon the system area if we are not prudent in our actions.
Nice announcement. The sad thing is people should not even be using root if they don't know this already.

if your phone locks up at boot with SetCPU overclocked, you can use Setcpu to create a safemode toggle zip file to flash from recovery to allow the system to boot so you wont have to wipe anything

Good info. I didn't know that. Of course, create the zip file before overclocking and setting set at boot.
Does it matter which rom you need to put overclock on it, or is that something they put in the rom already ?

Overclocking is a kernel thing, gotta flash one that supports it. I'm sure Faux's CM9 kernel has OC in, not so sure about Harsh's kernel.
OK I've been flashing your roms which are dope btw. And I'm trying to get to the overclocking part, could you put the link where I could get it and what to do ? Please and yo I flashed the new genesis rom beta 2 and I added the home long press button to try to show my recent apps but its been a fail is it a bug now ?? Cuz in beta 1 it worked fine. I rebooted after I changed it to see if it wud work but its still a no go. Oh and a tip I found out if the camera don't work is you can you instagram to take photos. Just sayin

These are 2 kernels that support overclocking. You most probably will then also need to get SetCPU (or similar cpu control app) from the play store.
1. Put kernel .zip file on the sd-card.
2. Clear cache/dalvik cache. (I recommend using Nullifier for cache)
3. Install the .zip
4. Restart phone, open SetCPU. Allow SetCPU to gain root permissions. Then just swipe to the higher frequency.
5. ????
6. Profit.

I have Sens4G with ViperS1.4.0. I have adjusted the CPU to 1.9GHz for benchmarking purpose. After that time, the phone reboots after the CPU freq is set (usually after requiring the PIN), so there is no way to adjust back. No backup, but there are important data (e.g. Expense Manager ot Task+), so there is no way flashing with full wipe. I have tried to update the ROM with itself and have tried install without wiping, but no success.
Any idea to fix the bootloop?
Thanks,
Csaba

Hi,
Just reflash the ROM.
This just resets everything, but your data and settings remain intact.

The CPU is adjusted by the VenomTweaks so even I just reflash the ROM, the VT will adjust again the freq, since none of the app or data is deleted.
Somehow I have to disable the VT or modify the setting, but there is no such a file on the SD.

Hi,
Don't you get an opportunity to change those settings in the aroma part of the installation?
What about flashing new kernel?
Or editing the file responsible for kernel tweaks via USB in recovery mode?

Download cm9.1.0 from here: http://get.cm/?device=pyramid&type=stable
Now, extract the file and go into the resulting folder. Then, flash the boot.img file. Instructions on flashing boot.img files are here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1752270
The purpose of this is to install a kernel that has no overclocking enabled. This will allow you to boot up your phone and disable the overclock on boot setting. Once you do that, you can install any kernel you like.
EDIT: OR if your phone can overclock to 1.73GHz without bootlooping then you can install faux123's kernel (much easier than flashing boot.img). Download it from faux's thread here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1216197
