Best Kernel for =GR-12= By MikeyMike01

looking for other kernals that are safe and better than Reorient_Kernel_1.1 that is told to be used in installation? any help is appreciated....
I use Talons 0.1.6.
Lets you apply an Ext4 lagfix. Combine that with 1.2 Ghz OC, and it's blazin'.
How about I9000 reoriented vG.1.2 05.10.2011
1.2 is way better than 1.1

Either XCal's latest re-oriented stock, or the latest Talon.
As anyone around here will tell you, there is no "best" anything. What works best for you, won't for someone else.
At the moment there is a certain dearth of Samsung compatible 2.3.X kernels. Back in the day we had a number of different 2.2.X kernels, but for now, Existz is kind of keeping everyone alive with his Talon kernel.
There are also a few developers working on CM7 kernels, but those will not work with Samsung derived 2.3.3 ROMs (which everything that's not CM7 is).

Which version of 1.2 is it? I've always used CWM to install kernels.
For JVB based ROMS

I personally upgrade from reoriented 1.1 to 1.2 and I went up in quadrant from 960 more or less to 1601 huge improvement!

The zip files are for cmw installs.
The "novoo" files don't have voodoo control.

2.3.4 how to crack the original recovery? / System / bin can not find the recovery file
read the development forum and search. everything you need to know is there.
for 2.3.4 recovery you need to flash a modified kernel.
There's no CM7 for our phones available.
If you want to get on a 2.3.4 ROM, there's Audiophile FTW, Valhalla and ICBINB.
You can follow my guide to prepare your phone before flashing any of those ROMs.

You'll have to do the reading and research but to reiterate what was said: no cm7 for the sgs4g yet -you might read that it can work in the non4g models but be aware its also said those versions aren't compatible worth our phones. There are some good roms though. I use drhonk kg4 kernel, icbinb kh2 and the tweaks by dsexton. 2700 quadrant scores without oc, 3400 at 1.3ghz. The phone is excellent. Fast, sleek, and it works.

Available in China, GSM and WCDMA networks, I brush the CWM kernel yesterday, from http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1194032, there is no stable ROM? Thank you.
Mr Jon,
now that you have modified recovery, you can flash any cwm gingerbread rom from here:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1117554
though I wouldn't flash a KF rom, as those were early releases. try a KG or KH rom (KH are the newest).

You don't "remove" a kernel unless you want a device that doesn't boot - just flash over it.
e.g. if you flash Infusion, it'll overwrite Daily Driver

[Q] MHL (TV out functionality) not working on Zeus?

My Infuse after being rooted and flashed Zeus 5.1 loses its MHL's functionality. I'm new to Infuse and Zeus so this might be an existing problem. Is there anyway we could get MHL working again?
Thanks, devs!

MHL does Not work on any recent GB custom roms! This has been stated LONG time ago. Only works on froyo. To get it to work the Devs need an official GB to drop

the problem isn't the rom its the kernel. You can use the bionix biui build 3 kernel if You use sgs kernel flasher. You will lose cwm and lagfix. remember to disable lagfix and reboot once before flashing.

[Q] Gingerbread to ICS

Quick question. I bought this phone recently and it came with valhalla final pre-installed on it. I wanna flash an ICS based rom and I was just wondering if I can flash it coming from valhalla final or do I have to go back to stock in order to flash an ICS rom. I'm only asking since I read that some roms are BML and MTD and I'm a bit confused

You need to flash AntonX's Basic with a Twist kernel or bhundven's Blastoff kernel to flash ICS. Valhalla Final's version of CWM with not flash ICS properly.
