[Q] live logcat screwed me - LG Optimus 3D

I installed live logcat on my rooted lg thrill. Didn't have clockwork recovery on it yet. Black screen, haptic feedback indicates it still works but no picture on screen. Went to lg thrill area for help and got sent here by to see. Any suggestions? I got one running cyanogen so I a sorta know what I'm doing( just barely) any help would be appreciated.

Been there done that twice... The only way i could do was reset the phone via recovery boot . I dont know earlier logcat worked fine but after certain upgrades, it happened and i thought i lost the phone and the screen's gone. Somehow or the other i managed to get back in recovery mode and tried to flash from backup but still black screen then i went back to recovery (Power+Vol down+ 3Dbutton) and then did full reset, wiped everything and then flashed from new rom.
Once i did i thought of installing all the programs and again tried logcat and the fkng thing did it again. So now i'm not using it and i'm back on froyo with Acura's V3 rom.

Did you have stock recovery or clockwork or something? I only have stock and my comp doesn't recognize the phone properly. Im sure its still rooted but only stock recovery. Any suggestions?

I had Clockwork, but booting in stock recovery is the same way. Do a complete reset/wipe to factory default and hopefully your phone should be back in original state.
Otherwise try this for complete flash back to any rom.

Clockwork Recovery Won't Boot

Ok, so I did my first root last night with my G2x and flashed CM7 onto it using the instructions here for GB. The process didn't seem to go through at first because it kind of froze for awhile, but when I took out the battery and put it back in it loaded up. (I understand I may have made a mistake here.)
I thought all was good but then I tried to boot up Clockwork recovery to flash the GAPPs zip and everytime I tried it wouldn't go through the screens it is supposed to.
I'd hold the down volume and power buttons and the first LG (white) would show. Then it would bring up a cyan colored horizontal loading bar under the LG. I continue to hold the buttons hoping to see the cyan LG but then screen changes to a box with an orange arrow pointing to an android logo. There is a loading bar under this as well. If I let go here it loads up CM7 but if I continue holding on it takes me to the S/W screen.
I've tried this multiple times but I've kinda given up. I even tried individually installing the apks from the GAPPS zip but only a few of them successfully installed.
At a loss .Please let me know what I can do.
Let me guess. You flashed CWM via ROM manager?
Follow he guide here and let us know how it goes:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1056847
Also, before you install the ROM use the wipe tool in my sig.
I appreciate the response but I did use that thread to flash it.

When it get to the point where "the cyan colored horizontal loading bar" let go of the volume and power button and see if it boots into CWM.
Ok, I tried that and it went to that android logo screen again. Then it went to a black screen and then the cyan LG logo screen. From there it booted up CM7.
I just noticed when I try to boot into Clockwork it erases everything I added to it including contacts and apps I installed.

Try rooting process all over again... just make sure battery have plenty of charge and make sure during any of the process there's no interruptions... let us know what happen after that...

I will unroot and try again. A few questions though:
I'm reading and it looks like I need to be able to boot into CWR to be able to unroot...is using ROM Manager a safe alternative?
And also, while I followed the instructions for flashing through the thread you provided last time, I read that I may need to erase/wipe certain types of data before I do so to avoid the market problems. Can someone provide me information on that?
I just want to make sure I do this right a second time.

No need to unroot... as long as your computer still detect your phone... just flash everything again... I mean since you want to root... I would just do all the rooting process again... and reflash clock work... don't use rom manager to flash clockwork mod...
Or
And since you can't get into clockwork... you can just try flashing clockwork again... no rom manager

Sweet, so I reflashed CWR and CM7 and I got my contacts back and several other minor issues were corrected.
I am experiencing a new problem now though. Whenever I try to download from the market it tells me "[App name] could not be downloaded due to an error."
What can be done to fix this?

Try flashing Google apps again. Cm7 doesn't include them in their builds.

Rom Manager is not a safe alternative. Stay with Nvidia ClockworkMod.
Its should be a blue lg logo when you have to let go of the buttons.

Every time before you re- flash a rom I would recommend doing a data/factory reset within clockwork recovery. then Wipe your cache. And then even a wipe of the dalvic cache under advanced settings. Then flash the rom then gapps. Then reboot. Its called doing a clean install. It just makes everything smoother when re- flashing. And if your apps ever not update like that again just fix the permissions in clockworkmod then reboot. It usually fixes it. And i don't recommend flashing directly from the rom manager. Do it from recovery instead. Hope this helps.

Similar issue, totally different outcome...
Ladies and Gentlemen (and low-lifes),
I have found myself in a similar situation, after recently flashing a ROM, to where I am now unable to boot into CW Recovery. The ROM flashed is working fine but when I attempt to boot into recovery I get a black screen and it never progresses beyond that. I have attempted to reflash of course via NVFlasher and from all indications it's been a successful flash. That said, the results remain the same... black screen.
FYI: I have not yet attempted to flash back to Stock Recovery.
•Current Rom - Owain's Domination v77 (a great ROM by the way)
•Current kernel - Harsh's 3.0.32
•Used Nullifier to prep device for ROM install (as I have been doing for sometime now)
If anyone has any experience w/this issue or any advice going forward I would greatly appreciate it.
UPDATE: (that was fast huh?) .................................................................................................................................................................................................
So I went ahead and flashed the Stock Recovery, tested and got access. I then flashed CWM 5.0.2.0 and to my delight was able to see the CWM console. I let go of the power and volume down buttons and the phone rebooted. Now the ROM will not boot, just sits in a forever cycle on the splash screen and the results continue to be the same as recently mentioned for attempting to get into the freshly flashed recovery.

Ok, I will bring my concerns to an end now. I forced CWM to remain in play by not letting go of the power and vol. down buttons then using my thumb to see if I could stroll through options in CWM. Once I accessed a few it remain stable. I nullified and re-flashed my ROM and all seems ok in my personal corner of the universe. I am now able to boot into CWM without issue.

[Q] Having issues trying to get back to stock

Ive been using the thread to Odin back to stock as im getting a replacement phone in a few days. Followed everything correctly, but Ive been getting a boot loop between the green android guy and the white Samsung startup logos. Redid the process in odin and now im getting "firmware upgrade encountered an issue, please select recovery mode in Kies and try again" when I go to download mode. i know I have a saved Nandroid backup on my SDcard, I just cant get to it. I also have mini Kies installed on my computer if there is a way to fix it thru that. I cant figure out how to get into recovery mode either. If anyone can help it would be greatly appreciated! Im just trying to get my phone working until my replacement is here.

That's because you had to factory reset and erase all data before flashing to stock. I had the same issue when flashing from dk4 to stock to lf4

So how do I get my phone working again? Its stuck in a bootloop after following the directions for Odin back to stock thread

This issue only occured when you uncheck Auto reboot in Odin. Try Odin again with Auto reboot checked
If you getting an boot loop, do exactly what I've done in Odin thread

Can't go to stock recovery in this case. This issue only occoured when Odin to stock ROM after using/flashing custom ROM that you forgot to format system or clean data. I've run into this problem before
It looks like after all this, Titanium Backup's backup was erased. I do have a Nandroid saved on my SDcard. Is there a way to pull everything from that? When I go to CWM and try to do a Nandroid, it says there isnt anything there. But When I connect to my computer, I can see the saved backup. I have been able to pull a few backed up apps off the Nandroid backup, but only certain ones or it says batch restore failed. Im wonder how it can see the Nandroids, but CWM cant? They're saved on my SDcard.
Is there another way Titanium Backup saves backups that I could possibly get to them? Im really trying to figure this out before my replacement phone gets here in a few days. I did backup everything, Im just having a difficult time restoring after the numerous problems Ive had thanks to Tmobile's "troubleshooting"
What are you currently running? If you are back to stock titanium won't function correctly as you have to be rooted. But since you mentioned cwm I wasn't sure.
Sent from my SGH-T769 using Tapatalk 2
Im just on stock but I am rooted. I just dont know where all my backups went after the bootloop and issues with reverting to stock after Tmobilr screwed up my phone trying to figure out why I kept getting "Call Ended" when trying to dial out.
Where is your nandroid backup currently located?
Sent from my SGH-T769 using Tapatalk 2
On my external SDcard/clockwork mod/backup/ whatever the date was.
Seems normal. Not sure why it wouldn't be visible. Sorry I can't be more help.
Sent from my SGH-T769 using Tapatalk 2
In recovery they are visible, but when I go to flash one it says no files found..
I was also stuck in a boot loop after attempting to get my phone back to stock since I got a replacement phone. Followed all of the instructions, but realized although I did a factory reset, I forgot to wipe data. So I simply got CWM through Odin....got into recovery wiped data....rebooted and voila! I'm back to stock no root. It took all of 1 minute to do. Maybe that will work for you too

Thank you for your quick response.I am able to get to recovery mode.and wipe data and factory reset.I got cm10 1117 nightly on my SD card and I install that and my phone is back.then I install jelly bean Google app.I will never try to go back to stock ROM again. this ROM is cm10 1117 nightly is better than stable cm10 for me.I thank all the devs who worked together to bring this your effort is much appreciated.
This is how I get to recovery mode on my Samsung galaxy s blaze.
1.press the vol up + vol down + power button at the same time.
2.as soon as the Samsung logo light up I release power + vol down button but not releasing releasing vol up button but rather press it harder..and there it comes....may be someone might be having the difficulty I had before
Give it a try...

Glittery/sparkly screen, bad root

I tried rooting my brothers phone but after I thought I rooted it and went into recovery the screen looked like there was a bunch of glitter on it. I first rooted it with the SGS II root which is different from the Blaze 4G root because that one has a pit and tar file whereas the SGS II just has the tar file. I wiped the phone twice then rooted it with the correct files but still get the glittery screen. Has anyone else come across this?
Why did you use the s2 root? I can't help, but I would suggest saying sorry to your brother xD unless someone more experienced can help. Do you have clockwork mod recovery on it?

As long as you didn't flash bootloaders from s2 just try and put ur phone in download mode and flash the blaze4g back to stock with Odin

Yeah I'll try that and no it doesn't have clock work. That's what I was trying to put on there but then I realized the files weren't for the Blaze model and when I tried to get into recovery it showed that glittery screen. I've rooted my phone and installed ROM's many times. I just overlooked this little detail with the files.

This happened last night while I was reverting back to stock from the DarkKnight rom. After returning to stock I was getting the glitter screen when trying to get into recovery and also stuck in a boot loop.
I retried numerous times to go back to stock in ODIN with zero luck, no recovery and stuck in boot loop.
What finally got me out of this loop was to root it again even though it wouldn't boot up, and then load clockwork recovery on. I was then able to get into clockwork and clear cache, dalvik and then factory data/reset. Then I did the return to stock process again in ODIN and everything went back to stock and the phone works fine but ...
I still have the glitter screen for stock recovery though, any suggestions ?

[Q] My Verizon S3 is bootlooping

I have searched threads all over XDA similar to this one to ensure it is not a duplicate. Sadly I have not found any so I hope one of you at XDA can help me. I got my Galaxy S3 and rooted it as soon as it was available. Then two days ago I flashed Cynogenmod 10 onto it without a hitch. I liked it a lot but sadly there were some shortcomings so I wanted to reflash stock. This is where I believe I messed up. I looked up some instructions, and gave it a go. When I turned on the phone, the annoying verizon bootup image and sound came on, but my phone goes no further. I have no care about my data, I just want my phone back to stock, could a developer assist me in this?
If so I would be eternally grateful.
Just reboot to recovery (hold home, volume up, and power). Wipe everything and flash again.

HELP bricked att lg g2

I have the ATT model g2. it was running android 4.2.2 and i rooted. i got an OTA notification yesterday so i unrooted it, and uninstalled busybox. and went ahead with the update. now, my phone does not turn on. you go to turn it on and the lg logo flashes for a second or two, then a black screen, if you look closely you can tell that the screen panel is still lit, but nothing shows up. It will not boot to download mode, and it does boot to the (stock lg, not custom) recovery, but when i hit the power button to do the hard reset, i get the black screen again, and no boot. when i connect it to my computer, it gives me a bunch of popups saying that i need to reformat a drive before i can use it, somewhere around 15-20 of them? ive run out of ideas to fix it. any and all help is appreciated. :crying::crying::crying::crying: would really like my g2 back, im back to my old phone which was a nexus 5 that has a terribly cracked screen, and i really like to get the g2 back rather than having to pay to get my screen replaced.
