Well, maybe if you download a rom from a device.that have that processor, you can pick the drives from lib, i think. Look droid 2 global have a ics rom and defy too. (the devices have omap 3630) But for what device youre trying port?

Hello guys... Today I've installed ICS and Honeycomb (3.2) AVDs on my PC first time... But ICS works very slow and Honeycomb works slower... And I can"t start learning Android development with this AVDs... Can you help me to fix this problem?
Little info about my PC:
RAM - 3GB
CPU - Intel Pentium dual core 1.8GH
OS - Windows 7 ultimate 32b
And my AVDs have 1GB virtual RAM
My avds aren't ics or honeycomb as most phones still use gb but have you tried making a gb version to see if it is specific to all android avds or just to the two you have already?

I know that most phones use GB, but since I just started to learn, I think that when I'll be ready to do something, than all phones will use ICS or even higher D
But soon I'll try to install GB... Thanks...

I was just meaning that if a gb one works fine you at least know its not all avds that have a problem.
If all do it then try lowering the virtual ram to 512mb and see if that helps.

Hello guys
I am new to this forum, though I have some experience in its contents
I was wondering, what would happen if I became adventurous and flashed i9100 ROM for i9003? I noticed that most of custom firmwares; especially the ICS ones of MIUI (v4) and CM (CM9), continually support the i9100 model. I just wonder would the drivers get conflicts, as i9100 has Exynos CPU, which is different from i9003?
If someone tried, please share the results.
Thank you.
the only thing that would happen is that your phone will become unusable completely...
The i9003 and i9100 are two totally separate devices with separate hardware inside. The i9100 has an Exynos CPU, i9003 has an TI Omap. The i9100 has a Mali 400, i9003 have a PowerVR 530. Don't be adventurous by flashing an S2 or any other rom on the i9003 except ones made for it. It's a pretty general rule: DON'T flash other devices roms onto your phone, you'll end up with a fancy paperweight

Well, If you do that, Your phone would magically turn into an expensive paper-weight.
Just, Dont flash ANYTHING you find outside the I9003 section on your SL.

Ooh .. I see that!
Thank you guys for your replies .. I was about to flash one, but canceled after seeing your replies
i was looking at the optimus 2x's android dev section and i saw a hell lot of roms especially based on cm9, this must mean they do have ICS working on their phone, which means an ICS comaptible kernel, since both house the same TEGRA 2 processor, i was thinking if our wonderful devs could just port it to galaxy R, it would greatly reduce the effort of building one from scratch, and if it isnt possible then please do tell me why, cause we can all learn and maybe help out 1 way or the other ?
I'm especially bad with kernels , not to mention port them . But if the other devs port them they might just be able to boot my ICS .
This was sent from a Galaxy Ace. Problem?
So, you say Porting is possible??
it may work because i read some of forum members tried ardatdat's kernel with Optimus 2x and it worked with LG Optimus 2X...

Yes, the problem with porting the kernel from O2X will be in H/W acceleration....
Until, we get any of the official NVIDIA Tegra2 drivers... we wont be able to get hardware acceleration.....
So, just wait for another month or so... dear SGR lovers......
Where are the driver located on your device? I have HP touchpad with CM9 nightly 3-29 I just need to know where drivers (wifi, camera, mic and so forth) are stored and how to read them... Thanks!
x2 ,but for SGS2?

Nooo... This is for HP touchpad. Unless they use the same drivers ?
Hello, I was wondering, wouldn't be a starting point to check the powervr linux drivers at this pages
http://www.imgtec.com/powervr/insider/powervr-drivers.asp
http://libreplanet.org/wiki/Group:PowerVR_drivers
to have our phone finally work 100% on ICS ?
There is already hardware acceleration implemented, the PowerVR drivers already work in the ICS port and the only problems that are still present are listed as bugs under CM9 ICS port thread . In conclusion, no, these won't be of any help (I think. Im not a dev )
