[ICS] RELEASE R99(HSPA OFF) [solved] - Android General

In Gingerbread to RELEASE R99(HSPA OFF), you had to enter *#301279# to access the menu.
In ICS (ICECREAM) (found it with try&error) you can do exactly the same with *#*#301279#*#*

[Q] HSG X5A after FW Update -> cant handle it any more

Hello there!
After reading lots of sites i tried to update my HSG X5A with the "X5A SENSE FLASHING INSTRUCTIONS".
- pressed "start" & "Menu" buton, ok
- startet the programm FWDN V7 an chosed the lk.mtdhuashiguang.rom & tcc8900_mtdhuashiguang.img, ok (incl. low format)
- FW startet, ok
The devices started and now it hangs on the celebrate screen. I cant celebrate it, not 1 of the 3 buttons seem to be functional. So i tried to go again in the update menu (pressed "start" & "Menu" buton) but now it always starts again to the celebrate screen.
So im not able to flash it again .. and with no button function im not able to do anything in the celebrate screen.
Any ideas? Please ...
No ideas? :-(
Connect to usb and boot
If it connect and you can FWD detect the tablet you are good to flash it but if not you'll have to open the tablet and put it in fwd mode.

[Q] 5-Lockscreen-Mod & Extended Power Menu for XWJPF

Hello,
I'm currently doing my own ROM based on XWJPF.
I flashed it and everthing was fine, but after reflashing the home button, the lockscreen and the power menu (airplane mode and datamode are missing...) don't work. I know this mod is only for XXJPM, but I tried it out anyway...
So, can someone make this mod for XWJPF?

[Guide] Installing Stock i9000 ROM

I wanted to share my experience with you guys.
I required a Gingerbread ROM without ATT bloatware, No ATT world phone logo, basically I wanted to unbrand my Captivate. I am aware of unbranding the captivate in many ways and I had also tried all flavors of ICS like Remics, CM9 nightlies, AOKP, Slim, Nyx , Deodexed KK4 etc, but I still like the stock KK4’s battery life and stableness. Finally ended up with STOCK I9000XXJW4 ROM and I m very happy with this ROM.
It has fulfilled all my requirements; above all, it has other features which were not offered by Stock KK4 ROM –
a. Power menu has data activation and deactivation like KF1, no third party app
b. Switching modes GSM and WCDMA, no need to go to Service mode.
c. Advance version of TWS launcher
When you flash boot loaders of i9000, Going to recovery and download modes differs
Down volume button + USB plug-in = Download mode
Up volume button + power button = Recovery
Files needed
1. ROM:
I9000XXJW4_I9000OXAJW4_XEU FIRMWARE ODEX

File is attached in the OP of this thread - http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1042543&highlight=i9000
update-xvjvb-home_button_fix.zip
Installation procedure:
1. Assumption – Coming from Stock ROM, not CM9 or any ICS ROMs
2. Switch to Download mode, use Odin attached in ROM zip, select boot loader, code, modem and CSC. Auto Reboot.
3. Now that the phone has i9000 boot loader, going to download mode is through Down volume button + USB plug-in
4. Use same Odin, PDA and select kernel which you have downloaded. Auto reboots.
5. Copy Home button fix to internal SDcard and boot to recovery
6. Now that the phone has i9000 boot loader, going to recovery mode is through Up volume button + power button. Install the Home button fix. You are all set with unbranded captivate.
I have some questions:
My European I9000 (XXJW5) which I recently got, appears to have a faulty bootloader, will this work on my phone, and take out the wrong 1?
My phone still works, but shows all kinds of coloured lines when booting up.
With USB, you mean, insert the plug I guess, just the plug, or does it need to be hooked up to a PC/Laptop?
Looks pretty straight forward, I'll await your answer before proceeding..
Thnx,
Leo.

[Q] Home Button Problem

Hi, I flashed the OTA package through TWRP to go from 4.4 to 4.4.1 and I have this weird issue where when I press the home button, I get an audible lockscreen noise but the screen doesn't lock. That respective first press of the home button only returns that noise, the second press would return me to the homescreen. It's random so doesn't happen all the time. I'm now gonna flash this --> [ROM] [STOCK] Android 4.4.1 KOT49E - Rooted/Busybox/Odexed (12/6/13) and hopefully would solve the problem. Just wanted to know if anyone had that same problem.

manual entry to bootloader (USB protocol / fastboot)

for those who can't boot System or Recovery on a700 (701?)
ages ago on ice cream sandwich I had bricked my tab and couldn't use ADB to get to fastboot, so I found a post that helped at the time but Acer changed the button combinations with JB. ever since the JB update (yes, years ago) I have not seen the fastboot combo on the forum n recently found the new method
ICS bootloader:
-power off
-turn on and immediately start switching screen rotation lock unlock lock unlock for a few seconds
JB bootloader:
-power off
-turn on, release power then hold volume down at the same time
-while holding volume down, start switching screen rotation lock unlock lock unlock for a few seconds.
