Droid Bionic Boot Animation - Samsung Infuse 4G

Droid Bionic boot animation for your Infuse! The file uploaded is labelled sanim.zip, file name for the NumasX ROM, just change the name to whatever your ROM requires then push it to your phone's /system/media folder. There is a sound file included, push it in the same directory. Enjoy
http://www.filedropper.com/sanim
http://www.filedropper.com/bionic
Remember, press Thanks if you like it

Thanks man. I couldn't get the sound to work but no big deal. Looks sweet especially when it boots up into my custom red theme.

I'm thinking that the sound file needed to be in the zip, that may have been why. I'll take a looksee

The sound needs to be in system/ etc called PowerOn.wav, in wav format

True enough. I kind of expected android phones to all have the same base though. Guess that's a terrible misconception xD

well this is the problem with open source especially on embedded systems like phones. everyone has a different idea on how to do things even if the difference is insignificant. look how many Linux distros exist. and on phones things are changed just for the sake of brand recognition not to mention that with all the different hardware there's no way to have a single universal OS like we have on a PC. the kernel is stripped down and precompiled with a specific set of drivers for the hardware, the rom and kernel are often customized in strange ways to work together as well.

Whats with all the urgency? Its not like porting is an overnight process. Porting typically takes days weeks and sometimes months.
It is not that easy. I believe Gingerbread (2.3) requires a new kernel. That we do not have, nor do we even have kernel sources for 2.2 yet. It might be possible to port PART of it, but there wouldn't be 4g, amongst other things. Also, this would likely be the GSM version, which leaves us without a proper modem.
So all in all.... Probably not going to happen.
I saw this posted earlier on androidcentral I believe and they were talking about a password on the .zip I think maybe it was the filename but google it for yourself lol

At least we can test the os. Radio and 4g can be solved in time. We just want to test this rom. Also, I know how long it takes to port. Lol

Apparently you really don't. CM6 is still ages from being ready for the Epic for example.
Not to mention we don't even know how to full extract or even flash these files properly.
Stop being so impatient about this. It will be no easy path, period. In all honesty, we may never get it working.
There might even be problems further down. We might not have a touchscreen driver, we WON'T have keyboard, hell the screen might not even turn on.
You seem to think that this is some easy task that will be accomplished, and it is not.
Simply put; Don't get your hopes up.

I agree with that... team acid roms are nice
I've run through all of Team Revoutions posts, on other forums as well, and it seems to me that he doesn't offer Any support. He either doesn't know how, doesn't know what he's doing or just couldn't be bothered. I'd beware of flashing any of his roms. Just my humble opinion.

I second that. It does seem that he just grabs another devs work adds some "secret" tweaks and VERY proudly claims it as his own. Also seems that he used to go by fawkz and got into some heat under that name as well. Best bet would be to just leave his work alone. But this is also my opinion.

He has another thread he wanted to make it his name or what ever he wanted. At least I think it was him. Either or that would be pretty sweet but I think they said its not possible because it updates from the carrier.

We have the solution for this now, right? Either services.jar or framework-res.apk, and somebody very kind pointed me to the latest version of apktool for de-and re-compiling those files.
I've had bad experiences just moving them with a file manager, so a better way of doing it would be to use a combination of adb push to the sdcard, then running a shell, su, and... Crap. Was it a cp or mv commands from there? I forget.
Sent from my ADR6400L using Tapatalk
Change it in framework Res/Res/layout/status_bar_latest_event.XML, if I remember correctly. You could always use the uot kitchen to change the carrier text and color.
Edit- just read the guide on how to change it. Disregard my previous statement.

There's a specialized color changer available on sdx if I remember right, in their Motorola Triumph section.
Edit: found it.

What Else Is There...?

Okay. So I rooted, have CWM and have tried several custom roms out there. But what else is there I can do that'd make my phone really awesome? I know the developers and Linux guys that know infinitely more than I ever will could possibly chime in here and give some ideas of some other cool stuff, I just don't know what else to fiddle with.
Something like this may have very well already been posted, but I was just thinking about all the customizations that one can do with Android -and am opening up discussion for folks to show off and/or discuss things to tweak the customizations available...

Get a rom that you like and tear it apart and customize it to your liking. I do this a lot. It is a good way to learn. Make sure you know how to get yourself back to stock if need be. I have had myself in some pretty good jams before testing out my own work.

I've been wanting to do just this, and luckily have already gone down the soft bricking road, and have my fxz to fastboot flash if need be. It was suggested to me to download Ubuntu and familiarize myself with that. I'm still unclear on adb and android sdk -I have installed on my laptop but no idea what I'm doing. But, I wasn't trying to get mini-tutorials for my lack of knowledge with this post, I'm just curious as to what others are and have done to further make Android "theirs" through customization. Thanks for your response!

That would be very much appreciated! If I had been smart, I would've brought my laptop with me (traveling for work) and could have been digging through rom files and stuff. This would have been the time to do that, as my girlfriend is getting sick of the amount of time I've been spending researching rather than listening to how her day was and about how I never do laundry the "right" way 'n crap.

Boot Logo?

I know that the Devs are hard at work cooking up some new android goodness, can't wait to see some roms hit the floor. Thanks for the recovery and root method Shabby, must be some kind of record with the speed you accomplished this.
I have attempted to apply my rather limited skill set to the boot logo, damn warning aggravates me every time I think about it. I figured it wouldn't hurt to get a thread started to discuss some possibilities as to how this might be changed.
I ran across this thread in the Atrix forum, i doubt it would be this easy, but was hoping for some input.
