Micromax a60 Android 2.2 SIM unlock - Android General

Hello people, i'm from Argentina and i recently aquired ZTE n720 smartphone with Android 2.2 (i know that cellphone is the same that micromax a60), i have read information of this smartphone on this forum in search of the method to unlock the SIMLOCK, that appears when i insert other gsm sim ...
I try with NCK code, with no results....
I read in this forum that is possible to apply a gsm fix to this phone (a60 gsm fix.zip from this post http://www.google.com.ar/url?sa=t&r...AiyhSRJBBNR6qKI-w&sig2=u-0Qf8T9jiyEDvgoYbYo8A is not exists)
Somebody has the file??
I know that android has a file called android.policy.jar and a file android.policy.odex, is possible to unlock the sim modifying the source code of there??? (i'm web developer and i know php and java)
Or if somebody know other method, i need help, i'm begginer with android.
Thank you!!!

zte n720 sim unlock.
N720 can be unlocked by using an app "widget locker".
It can be downloaded here:-
www.indiasporting.com/apks/Lucky/WidgetLocker_Lockscreen_2.1.0_Full.apk
STEPS TO USE:-
1. Put an unsupported sim.
2. When it demands netlock code, go to airplane mode.
3. Then install this app and enable it.
(A symbol will be shown in statusbar)
4.Disable airplane mode and you can use sim.
Hope it will work.
Is company saying anything about gingerbread update?
And please demand source code from company to make gingerbread / cynogen mod 7(cm7) for it.
There are many other n720 users on facebook too.

Thx for the answer!
I will go now to install widget unlocker with the method of airplane mode that you say, i hope it works...
The company (claro argentina) don't say any about a gingerbread update.... but i try to demand the source..

Please demand kernal source code.
Here's link for n720 page
https://m.facebook.com/zten720dudas?v=feed&refid=0
Think they have source code.
Share result of app, can you use sims.

I installed the app and sim is enabled, but the network is disabled! Show me the antenna with a cross and i dont receive or send calls, another fix. Thanks for the help, really

Hi, i had built CM recovery for our A60 phone which everyone is using. And soon i'll build for 2.32 kernel too. during that process i'll build it for you to..
Current recovery might work on ur phone. But ur phone mtd partitions are different...
but i suggest not to apply GSM fix on ur phone as the baseband of ur device is higher thn ours, and it is taken from our A60 2.1.
All u can do is to use another sim and and the unlocker widget.
There is a background thread "ClaroTracking" running on the rom too.
I did decompiled the code and pointed where it seeks for sim lock, but since we I got this working around of using lockscreen i didn't not put effort to modify the smali code... .
Don't worry sooner I may change the code nd deliver the file.

I send a PM to you ngage_me!

Before people can help you, you need to give more information.
What is the model for your phone and is it rooted?
If so, what ROM is it running and what custom recovery do you have?

Ok you can't "apply sdcard:update.zip" because even though you rooted your phone, you don't have a custom recovery. You have the stock recovery image that comes with your phone. This means that every zip you try to "apply" or flash will automatically be checked for a signature (to make sure its a valid update from the manufacturer). Since the ROMs usually don't have signatures, it won't work
Never mind about finding out the ROM. since you have a stock recovery, it looks like you haven't put any custom ROM on it. you are running the stock android OS that came with the phone.
It seems your OS got messed up when you tried to root the phone. The One Click root method you used I believe wasn't fully compatible with your phone. You should have used "Universal Root." Anyway, Give me a day or two. I will see If I can find you an official zip belonging to your manufacturer. THAT you can push back onto your phone and get your OS back and in working order.
Cheers!
P.S: Check if there is an option in recovery mode called "Toggle Signature verification" I doubt it but if there is it would DEFINITELY help you.

I'd recommend changing to CWM recovery via rom manager if you need to toggle verification. Rom manager from the market will flash a recovery for you also.

downloading the zip
rename to update.zip
format sd card
copy update.zip to sd card
start in recovery mode
try to start update
... and get a varification failed error
Has somebody a working update.zip, or can say where can I get it and if my steps are right?
1. If your update.zip is not official(signed) then you can't update your device.
Download this and rename this file to update.zip and retry.
Its a signed update.zip

Yep, I get the same exact behavior. Using the posted CWM gives orange screen, using CWM from Rom Manager gives green, and functions correctly (does nandroid backup at least)
yep clockwork from rom manager takes nandroid backups and allows me to flash cwm zips made in the uot kitchen

Try removing the battery!
Or the best thing is you do a full wipe in recovery and enter download mode and then flash any stock rom!!
And then flash any kernel for recovery! Mine is uc v9!!
This will fix your problem..

your subject and words are two different things. you are going into recovery and attempting to flash a zip, but it fails. your subject said your phone won't start, and instead goes into recovery.
don't take offense, but "all bases have to be covered" since you're a new member, so:
do you know the difference between recovery and download mode?
how many times did you try going into download mode? it doesn't always happen on the first attempt.
if it's still failing even after 5 very careful proper tries that would put another phone in download mode, did you try removing the battery? how long did you remove the battery for before trying to go to download mode again?
Try again. Boot into downloading with volumedown+home+power

Everything works fine now I have a rooted phone, trying to flash MIUI on it.
Hope it works.
Thanks again guys for helping I really respect.
Can't find alternative download link.
I have searched the internet for any other download link for xxkpe firmware (since hotfile is closed) but could not find any. I will be very thankful if anyone of you could provide an alternative working download link.
Greetings;
Go to Sammobile website. Search for your device and then pick the ROM you need.
Alternatively I recommend DDLF2 Full ROM. (Found in XDA Forum)

please verify your download by comparing md5 checksums. If you use root explorer, you can long-press the file and click properties, it will calculate that checksum for you. If you don't have an app to create checksums, please put the micro-sd card into your computer and use an application to do so on your computer. Compare that md5-checksum to the one provided by whoever you downloaded that rom from. If it doesn't match -> there's your problem. If it does match, something else is probably wrong.
