I've re-released my Real Signal application. It was popular about a year ago because of the signal bar issues with the Droid Incredible.
Its a good app for monitoring your high/low signals, getting stats on what signal bar you're using most of the time as well as an adjustable bar scale you can set to your liking.
Give it test run, let me know how it works out!
Thanks!

I don't know if anyone else noticed this, but the status bar on the Nexus S displayed during the movie rental presentation was a bit different than normal ones?

This is the best picture I can find until they post the keynote online, but there's a dark colored gradient on the left portion of the status bar and the wifi icon has been reduced in size and now has a second set of bars. It may look like an artifact in the image but it'll be obvious if you watch that part of the keynote again. I will try to get a screencap when google posts the full keynote online.
Wonder if this is something that'll show up in the next update, or is that wifi icon something I've missed in 2.3.4?
It's Ice Cream!
Pretty sure the gradient you mention is just a UI flourish that will be in Ice Cream Sandwich and other hybrid tablet/phone apps. You can see it on the new Music Beta you can grab from the market.
As for the icons, I noticed them as well. I'm pretty sure it's just a NS4G, and that icon you think is WiFi is actually "4G"/WiMax signal. I haven't seen a NS4G in person yet, but I'd wager that's what it is.
That is the 4g icon.

The only reason it interested me is thus far, the status bar has always been solid black, so my first thought was that they might be making it transparent..
I got excited for it being 2.4 but I'm assuming the status bar icons would be changed to match 3.0's color scheme, unless they still plan on differentiating the two by color schemes.

I have been using Android since Version 1.0 and the G1 and have NEVER seen the Notification Bar disappear before.
Also, the issue off the previous screen flashing on for a second instead of the lock screen when the phone comes out of sleep is still there.
Did LG/T-Mobile ever even test this OTA?
So it's a big deal?
That's what she said...
And speaking of the notification bar, I suppose it's trifle in this day and age of our smart phones to ***** but I would really like to have the "green" back on the notification bars.

Hi everyone,
I just finished the big part of my project: Lama launcher. ( made with StandOut )
Description:
LamaLauncher is a new style of launcher, he run over all other application for quick access to the application you want to run. You can show/hide LamaLauncher with a slide movement on the left side (at top).
The application is in beta, on slow devices (less powerful) it encounters difficulties, i am actualy trying to fix this
.
Screenshots:
I will add lot of options soon ( after my finals ).
If you have suggestions, I take it
PlayStore:
demo: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.kornflexx29.lamalauncherdemo
full: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.kornflexx29.lamalauncher
Works fine, thanks !
I love it but am unable to hide my apps.

As seen above, the last bar is clearly misaligned.
The only thing I clearly see is that I don't really see what you mean

Yeah. Top pixel of the network bar is at the same height as the topmost pixel of the wifi signal indicator and the battery indicator.
Bottom pixels are clearly aligned too.
Look closely at the first three bars, they align perfectly and the fourth us higher than it should.

And why you think it shouldn't be that high?

Because the line is straight from the bottom left corner, all the way up the signal bars to the top right...except the last one. So it looks out of place.
I haven't looked into it, but if these are pulled from AOSP, then it should be fixed upstream as well as here. Unless they -2 for some reason.

Nice ! How did you get the nav bar icons ?
Navigation bar icons are for carrier ..in settings -display - carrier info - use carrier name or logo..i set it as carrier logo..
Then another icon is that of Adguard (an ad blocker app which can work without root) it always shows the icon ..
