Rsd lite & xt720mod.sbf problem - Milestone XT720 General

Rsd wont recognize device with this mod. I have disabled firewall and still no luck. No 3g is a major problem for me so I'm trying to flash back to uk.sbf. Pls assist

The mod.sbf doesn't modify the boot loader, so the problem is somewhere on your computer/RSD lite. Make sure you're not in the fastboot bootloader.

I normally check if rsd recognizes my device in charge only mode before going into bootloader. I see moto have new drivers, do you think this could be the problem? Is version 4.6 rsd most compatible for xt720?
Sent from my XT720 using xda premium

The newer ROMs have new reverse engineered charge only modes instead of Motorola's. So I wouldn't be too concerned about that. I would just try from bootloader directly.

Problem solved. Went into bootloader first this time around and all in order. Thank you.

Update went wrong?

Ok I have July baseband on cm. I nandroid to stock 2.2 Rom. Flashed stock recovery. Then, I plugged in ny phone, used the LG updater tool to update. I press update, the phone goes to download mode and then when it scans for connectivity, it stops and says re plug in phone because it cannot find my phone.
Now my phone won't boot up without going into s/w download screen. Can I just use the all in one toolkit from the sound update, boot to s/w and update it? Please help me fix

please help!
No to update it just unplug the device reboot computer and try to update again. Search around for the LG tool and go from there its pretty easy from that point on and I updated with custom recovery while on a custom 2.3.3 rom.

Ok. So do I just plug my phone in, download drivers unplug, let it install, then plug back in, then start the procedure? And if it stops the reboot pc and redo I?

It should walk you through things install drivers make sure they are correct through device manager, and then reboot computer, then try update. I had issues until I did the reboot then all went smoothly.

Atrix 2 starts in AP FASTBOOT MODE(FLASH FAILED) every time

I have an Atrix 2 US at&t version unlocked.I tried flashing Asian retail image on it using RSD lite(I know I shouldn't have due to hardware difference between us and Asian version.but i didn't know this then of course).however the flashing was unsuccessful and now every time my phone restarts it goes into AP FASTBOOT MODE (FLASH FAILURE)
I can't get it to boot normally.any help would be highly appreciated.
thanks....

If you have NOT installed ICS at any time you should use rsdlite to flash the AT&T 2.3.5 fxz and go from there. If you had ICS then you should use Jim's ICS to GB script which will get you back to 2.3.5 as well.

This is happening cause the flashing failed when you tried to flash the wrong firmware. When the phone boots, it runs certain system checks, and if it fails those checks, as a safe mode, it throws itself into Fastboot. It will do this because it is unsure if the phone is safe to boot.
You can boot it normally from FB by hitting power, (screen shuts off) hold down both volume rockers, and hit the power button. Then select boot normally.
And devil is right, reflashing the PROPER fxz will fix this issue. Follow the noob guide in the stickies of this forum.
I know I have been using my Atrix by manually booting it in normal mode.I just want everything to go back to normal.will I be able to ota it to 2.3.6 once I flash 2.3.5???

You did the batch clean up without flashing a new ROM? Nice...
Just nvflash to stock 2.3.4. It'll work, if you get errors use a different USB/USB slot.
There are guides that explain.
Look that the thread here for detailed instructions on how to flash recovery with nvflash. http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1566681
If it works properly but you can't boot into recovery then run the clear-up batch and you should be good to go (assuming it works and you can boot into recovery and flash a ROM.

Help lol bootloader prob

So how would I know for sure if my bootloader is unlocked can't flash any kernel but ez unlock says its unlocked
Sent from my SCH-I535 using xda app-developers app
When your phone is powered of completely, hold the power and volume down keys at the same time. This will then bring up a white screen with a load of text. Look at the top and if it says 'S-off' then I assume you've unlocked the boot loader. If it says 'S-on' I assume not. But this isn't always the case.
Try it anyway and if this helps please leave a thank you

That is just for HTC devices.
Just reboot your phone and if the first samsung logo when booting up disappears quickly then you have an unlocked biitloader.
Sent from my SCH-I535 using xda app-developers app
The simplest way to tell is if you reboot your device and if the first splash screen that appears flashes "Samsung" really quick, then you are unlocked. If you are not unlocked it will stay up for a second or two.

What version of ez unlock are you using? Make sure you use version 1.2. The later versions don't work.
Actually they do work as I used 1.4 and the only thing is that it says unknown. Also once it gives you the prompt saying the phone is unlocked you flash a custom recovery to see if you have successfully unlocked the bootloader.

You probably flashed an incompatible kernel. Basically if you flash a kernel meant for ICS it won't work on jelly bean and vice versa.

It has been widely known/reported that 1.4/1.3 are non-functional. I think you are the first person I've seen to claim otherwise. Maybe it works for some? All I know is that 1.4 did not work for me I had to revert to 1.2, and this is the same for everyone else in the ez unlock thread on Rootz.

I'm assuming you downloaded ez-unlock from the market? That's version 1.4, which has been widely reported as non-functional. Uninstall the current app then download version 1.2 from this thread and install it:

That should fix your problem if it doesn't then there is something else wrong.
