Hi,
I recently switched over to HyperSensation v 1.5, works very well so far. After some days I experienced the (already known) keyboard freeze bug (see http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=21036318&postcount=2851). Users in the ROM thread suggest to disable predective typing completely or install the LatinIME.apk via adb push.
As I wanted to use predictive typing, I installed the apk but the keyboard still freezes all the time.
Can I somehow verify that I've installed the apk correctly via adb? I'm pretty sure I've done it right but I want to check it if possible.
Anybody else experiencing the same problems?
Bumping. :/
Again.

I loved Connectbot on my Hero but it refuses to install on the Evo. The market throws an error of "insufficient storage available" when trying to install. I tried to reinstall a backup from the Hero using Titanium and that fails as well. Anyone else have this issue?
And before anyone asks, I have 233mb free on the device.
If Connectbot doesn't work, are there other options? I couldn't find much in the market but maybe there's something else out in the wild.
Are you rooted and/or using a custom ROM? I had no problems installing and using ConnectBot on day 1. Seems to be the only free app that supports key auth.
Yeah it's rooted running the .6 upgrade from Flipz. No special rom or anything. I guess I'll wipe the phone and set everything back up from scratch and see if it works.
Are you able to install other apps from the Market? Are you using apps2sd? Have you installed the OTA update?
No problems here. Installed it on stock .1 and .6 (separate phones) and used it to root instead of adb (couldn't get adb to work on my Linux box). I currently have connectbot working on latest damaged and bugless beast roms. Great app, no problems here.

If you look at logcat it might tell you the real reason it won't install. Insufficient storage might be a red herring.
Also try the version from connectbot.org
Hello all,
I have been reading through a lot of threads trying to research over and over and figure out my issue. I am running the Huawei Ascend M860 with CM7 and can not get the swype beta to open correctly. Everytime it force closes and can not get it to work. Tried to reboot and tried to format sd card and still nothing so I am lost as to how to get this to work, I really enjoy the swype on the phone and I am trying to figure out how to get it correctly working. Being as I cant pull it from my old rom without going through everything again I imagine. Any help would be appreciated thanks.
I actually tried some other keyboards like SlideIT, ultra keyboard, better keyboard 8 and Gokeyboard and all of them give me the force close when I actually try to use them. Any help on this issue so I can change from the stock keyboard to swype would be helpful. Thanks
Make sure you have swype and the swype installer deleted off your phone and reformists the installer then swype. If that doesn't work, try a COMPLETE wipe

i would like to install the latest version of swype using my swype beta account. i installed the swype installer and removed (and backed up just incase) these:
/system/app/Swype.apk
/system/app/Swype.odex
/system/lib/libSwypeCore.so
/data/data/com.swype.android.inputmethod
but the installer still thinks theres a version of swype installed so it still fails. what else could there be?
I used to have that problem, try rebooting and make sure the com.swipe is also removed.

hope this help
I had in stall swipe & got the same issue that it failed & need to be reinstalled. I removed it & didn't reinstall the app. I notice there were the keyboard selection under setting, locale & text. In the input selection i was able to select swipe & it worked for me. Dont know if this will help those that are using swipe.
Thank for the showing how to delete file
any idea on how to go about getting the swype official back? i think i like it better than beta 3.0
well, if you backed up the files rather than deleting them, then just place them where they where.
I did, but there are several swype files in many different folders

well theres only a folder and three files, two files if your on a deodexed rom.
I remember 5 files, but I have no idea where they go!
I assume if I just reinstall a full version of whichever room I choose that I'll have swype official again? Or if I flash back to stock?

i used System app remover, backed up the original the app does it if you want too, then i just installed Swype 3.0
Followed this to install 3.25 beta on Mikey's S7 ROM... worked like charm.
Thanks!
hi i have ICS RC7.4 installed with a VKL1 modem flash to be used on tmobile.
my problem is that the google voice recognition keeps showing me the tutorial/welcome screen instead of going directly to the voice input screen which means i have to press the microphone button before i can talk ..ohh how frustrating. i checked the settings but there is no option do disable the welcome screen. interestingly enough this behavior seems random sometimes the tutorial screen comes up sometimes it just works like it should.
Is anyone else experiences this or knows how to fix ?
thx - phil
If you are running a ROM then you should ask your dev to include GV as sys apk
Or drag the Google voice apk to the system folder before you flash it and not bother the dev with something you can do yourself.

thx for the replies.
is there a way todo this without flashing? or can i just "re flash" my ICS over the current one with the apk in the system folder without loosing any settings/data.
litte noobish here sorry....i made the swap from iphone to droid like 4 days ago. so far i have a custom rom, flashed modem, rooted and unlocked.... its a steep learning curve and im loving it!
There's a way to do it without wiping but it's complicated and youbhave to fix permission and stuff. I think if your custom rom has a no wipe update you could put it in that one and flash that way. Always backup before modifying.

or you could just copy and past the file from your /data/app folder to /system/app fix permissions and reboot. (you might get fcs as you do this if so reboot then fix permissions and reboot again)
Hey guys,
I own a Nexus S i9023 in Australia and am running the latest XenonHD JB Rom. I was wondering that ever since the official release of JB, I have not been able to find or run the sound search widget on my device. Before the official release of JB, I was running the "beta" version of JB and the soundsearch widget was present then. Ever since the release, I cannot find or run the sound search widget on my device. When i try to install the apk for it, it asks me whether I want to replace a system app. I click yes and it tries to install but says there is already a package of that name.
Is there a fix for this? I have come across forums which have said to defrost the app using titanium backup or rom toolbox however, these fixes must be applied each time you reboot your phone. Does somebody know a permanent fix for this?
Sorry if this is a noob question but it would be nice if i got some assistance in this matter!
Thanks a lot in advance.
Search for "google ears nexus s". I found this it's a copy of the apk and instructions for ICS. Perhaps removing and re-installing will clear things up.
You are rooted right? Assuming you are, you need to install titanium backup and look for Google sound search(it's highlighted in red) and unfreeze it. Then you can use it.
