Hi I am running cyanogen mod7 and nectary kernal I don't know when it disappeared but when I turn my screen off I don't get the fancy animation no m)more any tips?

i don't know what causes this. But try downloading Boot Animation from the market, this may help.
I believe there is a setting under Cyanogen settings that control Screen on/off animation.
To have the screen off animation you must have all animations enabled and at default speed. If you change it to only show some animations or no animations, or if you change the transition speed in Spare parts, you will not see the screen off animation.

Thanks I think it will be the animation screen as I changed it to fast

Thank you I fixed it

Any of you animators know why the boot animation can be 240x400 or 480x800, but the shutdown animation can only be 480x800?
Sent from my thing using another thing.
The only thing that I could assume is that something is coded in the system to specifically look for those dimensions for the down animation. From everything I have researched the dimensions for the animations and splashes are supposed to be 480x800 for these phones. Sorry if this is not helpful. I am just throwing out my hypothesis.
In the rom I'm using, there are boot animation and down animation settings in default.xml, but only for frame rate, not dimensions.
Someones got to know how to do this

Anyone?

Not sure about the down animation, I'll do some tinkering with it and see if I figure anything out, as to boot animations, they can be any size really as long as the thing fits within 480x800
Any luck?

hi guys
love the CRT animation, but i don't care too much for all the animations. but here's the dilema, if i turn animations off, then i dont' have the crt animation, if i have the CRT animation, then the phone feels a little slow with all the animations..
is there a way to seperate the two?
i'm ok if this never works out, but i just want to know cos i'm sure there are others out there like me
any thoughts?
thanks
What about the "some animation" setting? That took away my animations but left my crt animation there.

Yeah that's what I'm on now.but ideally I'd like it if it's no animation but still has the cry animation
.. just asking out of interest I know I'm nit picking

edit: I made this post literally hours before IMNUTS posted his new kernal, with that new kernel you actually CAN change your boot animation. This method still fixes your laggy boot animation though. As always, if you found this post at all helpful just click the thanks button!
In case you're wondering, it's not the ROM or even Voodoo causing the boot animation to become so choppy, it's the kernel. Check IMNUTS' post on his PBJ kernels and you'll see it's a known bug and he's working hard to fix it.
So anyway, to fix your boot animation just follow the guide below. It's a very simple process so don't worry :]
1) Go to the Android Market and download a boot animation changer. I would recommend 'Boot Animation Changer LITE'. It's free and incredibly simple to use.
2) Next, open BAC Lite that we just downloaded and select 'Change Animation'.
3) Finally, choose any of the boot animations and hit the 'Download and Change' button.
That's it!
Dude that freaking worked! I had tried to change my boot animation before, but I never noticed it actually fixed the choppiness! Thanx man!!!

Glad to help!
made it a little better, mine is still a tad bit laggy and the "DROID" voice sounds funny... but its noticably better thanks for the info

No problem I noticed it wasn't flawless and still just slightly slow but the stock animation wasn't fast either, the stock seemed like it was running at 6-10fps
Much better thanks!
Eclipse 1.3
Edit: According to Kejar on twitter we have custom boot animation for the CHARGE now!
Can't wait for that release
Didn't work for me. :\
My boot animation was full 480 x 800. I downloaded the R2D2 animation as a test and it runs MUCH better than mine.....SOOOO I will reduce the height and width of my images to the smaller height and width of the R2D2 and see if that works.
Of course the desc coding stays at 480 x 800. I guess it's easier on the system.
I would recommend just upgrading to the 7/30 pbj kernel. It's a simple flash in clockwork, allows you to actually change the boot animation and fix the lag.

Ok....that's what I have. Is there a setting to fix the lag?

there is no fix for the choppy stock droid eye boot animation, even on imnuts' new kernel... what you can do is put your own in place of it or download 'boot animation changer' from the market which when used will kinda even out the stock one
blazing through on my VZ Droid Charge 4G
I would like to know how or what the BAC app does to smooth out the stock boot animation?
I'm not sure at all, all I know is it fixes those choppy animations. It still runs a little slow but the stock boot animation ran just as slow.
Sadly it didn't work for me.
You sure you followed the directions correctly? If so, what is your current setup? kernel/ROM mainly.

That's it! Your boot animation will stay the same(the kernel doesn't actually allow you to change your boot animation... YET!) but the lag will now be evened out.

I've been saying this since the choppiness came into play is that where you got it from?

Sorry, I was just passively trying to get a suggestion for more professional animations.
If u are currently using the miui rom for the MT. Please post errors for other miui users in our MT users.
I have currently encountered a boot problem with the theme "black ice"
The theme is great and looks fairly like ics 4.0. Remember after you download this theme to uncheck the boot screen. Then hit apply.
The boot animation would take from a long wait to not loading even my phone. So I had to fish around for my lock button. I even reinstalled miui without a wipe to gain access to my home screen.
So watch out guys for errors and please post anything you may find.

I had the same deal. Also, the ICS for MIUI by db totally borks the not bar on my end - would like to know if I got a bad download or if that theme is just not gonna cut it on our brand of MIUI
I noticed this too Haha! I love the theme but the boot animation messes it up
So I use alot of themes. And I will say don't use any boot animations for any theme. Lol the outcome isn't very awesome

Black Ice theme will work fine on the MT running MIUI, just disable the boot animation.
black ice also disables wallpaper scroll
This happened to me as well. Mainly with Black Ice.
I found a way to work around it just enough to get to the lock screen by plugging in the charger.
Also seems like setting a boot sound might cause problems too.
