Heimdall>odin

http://www.glassechidna.com.au/products/heimdall/ if odin isn't working use heimdall. All you do is unzip the odin file and place the individual files into the proper place. You have to use the drivers heimdall comes with.

[Q] unlock or flashing question

i have samsung mesmerize and want to use it on boost does anyone know the unlock procedure or my next question is i have located the rooted samsung prevail files for odin is there a way i can flash these files to the mesmerize
For sure you'd need the modem.bin file. Open the odin file as a .tar and see if it is in there. I too am interested in this.
If you find info for how to do it with a fascinate, that'd work on your mes too

Ok I have the files there is an. Ops file a pda.tar file a boot.tar file and a phone.tar file its using Odin multi downloader v 4.42 I noticed on the Odin used for mesmerize and fascinate their is a pit input where the ops is at on the newer version so my next question is do I use the pit version of Odin or the ops version and in what order do I want to flash the files as for boost being cdma it is and some of their phones use the aim method as well not sure as to why though. I have two of these mesmerizes so I would like to unlock them both but don't want to brick them any help would be greatly appreciated and I will keep everyone posted to the results of this

I will like I said I have two of them and the recovery files for mesmerize so if it fails recover and try again I have been scouring the internet trying to see if a ops file can be converted to a pit file or vice versa

I have been able to flash back the mesmerize several times but when I try to flash the pda file from the prevail odin3 stops and then my phone has the phone triangle computer logo and I have to reflash I think if someone who knew more about the files could compose a pit file from the ops file compatible with odin3 this would work like I said ill be the test dummy lol worse can happen is inturn it into a paperweight but even that's hard to if u have adb

These type of things are usually wild goose chases that are never successful. Frankly, I'd just get a Boost Mobile phone.
Any Progress?
I have been searching for the same exact thing... and stumbled on this thread after posting quite a few times myself.
If anyone has been able to get it to work I would love to know.
Thanks,
Chris

Regarding ROM Manager

For new people. It does not work on the sgs4g. It will cause issues. You will not get a working cwm recovery from it.

yap. same here.. i cant back up my rom using rom manager.. please tell me how to backup rom without rom manager
If on froyo 2.2 install cwm final by krylon360. Its in the dev section. You can make a backup in cwm recovery.

So how did u apply cwm final manually with update.zip ?
Sent from my SGH-T959V using XDA App
If on froyo you have to download the moddified recovery.bin file and use a file explorer app to push it to the system/bin folder. Make sure that the file explorer app is set to r/w so the file sticks. Once you have that then put the update.zip file on your SD card and boot into recovery and hit reinstall packages. You could also Odin the Bali kernel. If in gb Odin one of the modded kernels Dr honk made.
Sent from my SGH-T959V using xda premium
the Bali kernel is a ZIP though, and Odin only does TAR
there is an odin version available. search for it in the development section
wow nice. found it and flashed it. freaking out at my phone telling me in sexy robot chick voice what it's doing. thanks man

Does anyone have ODIN version of UCKJ2

I have been flashing back and forth between UCKJ2 and UCLA3. What has been painful, if you updated to UCLA3. To get back to UCKJ2, the correct ODIN tar does not have the radio. So the process to reinstall the UCKJ2 *without* rooting or custom recovery is extremely painful (yes, I can detail how to do). What I was wondering is how can I create an ODIN tar for the radio? Any insights will be great..I can create one..
Why don't you flash the kj2 radio from the radio thread.

As said in the title, I don't want to root or install CWM. All the radio are in CWM zip format. I am looking for a way to create the ODIN version from the CWM or other, if possible.
Sorry. Missed that part.

Try here: http://www.sammobile.com/firmware/
And search for I727, they have stock UCKJ2 ODIN tar with radios and all.
