CWM ROM - Epic 4G Android Development

Is there a howto on the steps to make a ROM/kernel Rom Manager-compliant? Google is giving me nothing. Everything works with CWM5, so far.

Going to test this with Fresh 3.1, will report back with results.
*Edit* working great, only issue is that it switches me back to stock sense instead of espresso, any way you could fix this? thanks!

Does you phone have to be rooted in order to modify your lockscreen, like the .apk you have displayed?
if this available for the cyanogen rom?

You have to have a custom recovery, like Clockwork or Amon_RA, to flash the update, which is done through rooting. I am pretty sure you could just adb push though if you know how.

It uses the HTC lockscreen so I don't think so.
Well I flashed this over Fresh 3.1 and I got a boot loop... sigh... in the process of doing a NAND Restore now.

[FX-MOD][SENSE] Reboot option in power menu 3-in-1

uses htc widgets. minimal footprint (check out the patch).
enjoy

flashable zips for _deodexed_ roms: (do not flash them over odexed ones. if in doubt, consult your chef)
as the source code for htc's _heavily_ modified and extended android framework is not publicly available, implementing features like this isn't that straightforward as it is for aosp-based roms
i took the 2.2_r1.1 aosp sources, coded the reboot entry with the dialog (directly into the power menu to maintain a mininal footprint), created dummy stubs for external htc framework references, looked up and hardcoded htc string/icon resource ids, fiddled with the code until it barely compiled
then i baksmali'd my own build, took only the relevant changes, and injected them into the baksmali'd original
hi,

Really nice! That's what I was looking for!
I now have the reboot option in my AuraxTSense 7.6 I flashed 2.12.911.1 at first because I didn't know which one to use and it worked flawlessly. Now flashing the version 2.10.406.2 since it seems that's the one you are saying it's the one compatible with AuraxTSense
Thanks a lot. I'm really happy now. My rom now has everything I wanted

Do you think there should be any side effect now that I flashed it? Everything looks OK (reboot took very little, not like everybody else is reporting, like nothing changed) but do you think I should reflash/nandroid restore?

[DEV][UPDATE 04/03/2011] Ringing with no fade

Hi guys,
who hates that ascending ringtone on our phone, i do, i often miss calls cause of this.
Now i found the way to disable this annoying 'feature', LG didn't give us an option to disable it and probably it's an Android feature, don't know if it's on every android phone.
Anyway, here i provide the solution
flash from Recovery on custom deodexed roms, i have ROM LOL 1.4 and it works correctly, anyway it's not rom dependend because it changes a system app
Januka ringNoFade
and the link to undo the changes if you need it
Januka undoRingNoFade
Thanks are appreciated! bye all!
-------------------------------------------------- reported working ROMS:
LOL 1.4
Void echo
Void delta
Megatron v1
Devoid ypsilon
DarkMoon v.2
------------------------------------------------------------------------
edit: not working on stock rom (deodexed rom needed)
working well with LOL 1.4. Thanks. this is a life saver for miss calls.
man you are the best!! you solve this annoying problem!! and yes, it works with void echo too!!

everyone who is using this patch can please leave a feedback, am just curious to know how many other hating this problem.
Does it work on stock 2.2 Rom ?
[Thunderg custom recovery + touch fix kernel]
If you want to try, just make a nandroid backup before !

I'll give it a try but i dont have free time to mess around if any problems occured.
So it will take me long to do it, that's why im asking for any confirmations if it works on stock.
Think of keeping the main post updated about any conflicts or a compatibility with each rom based on feedback you get.

no i don't think it works on stock rom because stock rom is odexed and I recommend to flash it only on custom rom deodexed

That was my thought too making me doubt about if it works...
Im convinced now I won't take the risk ;p
anyway i edited my previous post to prevent someone to try on stock rom without make a nandroid backup before
edit: I think i can make it work also on stock rom by deleting the application relative odex file in system/app
I would release soon a new patch that also do this while flashing so someone can try it on stock rom too
@morx or someone with stock rom, can you please upload /system/app/Phone.odex and /system/app/Phone.apk of your stock rom to make also an undo pach in case it's not workin?

So I've made a flashable zip that changes the entire look of the bootloader, charging screen and the bootlogo. Made using the brilliant tool made by bitdomo.
