Hi all,
Is there any way to have the stock phone app on the skyrocket default to the favorites rather than the dialer when openend?
thanks,
Dave

I'm not a huge fan of the HTC messaging app an I'm kinda missing the vanilla gingerbread one. Anyone know a way of installing the vanilla one without root?
I've downloaded the mms.apk but the HTC app is installed under the same name so you can't uninstall/update it without SU. Is it possible to somehow repackage it as a new application that would run separately?

handcent sms works really well...
I like chompSMS, its a really solid alternative SMS app..... but I've actually been using the HTC messaging app lately, I love the way the conversation screen looks with the 3D sort of threads...
Well the title really says it all. I was wondering if any dev out there could rig something like this up? I know the Handcent has it and so do a bunch of other market apps but i like to stick to the original app. Thanks guys.
Sms popup does it and blends really well with stock app

Hi,
My Sensation XE is running stock ROM & currently it has the issue as I mentioned on the title.
I sent & received sms with a friend, but her replies got all bundled up on top, not as a threaded SMS like other recipients.
I did have this issue with my Desire, but after I rooted it & am running GingerVillain ROM, that issue disappeared.
Any quick fix without rooting & tinkering with new ROM's?
Please advice,
Thanks,
D
get the App SMS Backup & Restore from the market.
Backup your messages then restore your messages.
That might fix it.
Hi Sromer,
I've tried what you suggested, but the sms is still listed incorrectly.
any other suggestion without rooting/flashing other Roms?
Thanks,
D
It happened with the desire on stock sense Rom?
Maybe it has something to do with your service provider and sense? Maybe shoot an email off to HTC to see if they have an idea?

I think you should try playing with your SMS settings.. I think it's something to do with the time stamps. Open up messages and hit the menu button and adjust your settings.
Hope this helps.
My answer to probs with stock HTC sms was to install Go SMS (pro) it is very user friendly and manages to do everything an sms should

yeah, I had exact same problem with the stock Desire. Custom Roms cured it though.

hey, I'm trying Go SMS pro. so far so good. I will report back.
Does anyone know how I can get the original HTC ChaCha messaging app on the SuperOSR custom ROM? The messaging app included looks nice but doesn't allow me to add line breaks using the enter key.
Realised I need the functionality of the clock from stock too, is it possible to move that over also?
Hi every one
I'm currently looking for a SMS app that let me see my list of conversation on the left and the conversation I selected on the right (something like the landscape mode SMS app for Galaxy SII). All I can find when looking for a tablet SMS app are apps that read SMS from a phone and display them on the tablet, but that's not what I'm looking for, as I want this app on my Paranoid Android Galaxy S. I hope what I mean is understandable enough, thanks in advance for anyone who answers.
So you want the SMS app to look like the tablet version of gmail?

Yes, I'm looking for something like that.
The sidekick 4g also has a stock mms app in that style. Somebody would need to recompile it for aosp though. Better off with the other one though cuz the sidekick used custom everything...

split view
samsung comes with a nice split view on galaxy tabs, unfortunately lost the view with switch to cm.
in the market is tablet sms by player thong, which only helps you with sms sent from this app.
on the left is the contact list. checked it, deleted it.
No other good sms app for phablets?
