I'm wondering why do everything lag when I put any live wallpaper. You also have this problem?
I was using an HTC Desire and LWP were the same amount of lags on Sensation. And the Sensation it's dualcore+bigger ram+etc etc. WHY LIVE WALLPAPERS DO LAG?

Use that and LWPs should be much smoother, the ICS LWP is smooth on my phone @710MHz/192.
Ok, let's try.

Tried it. Doesn't work so much. Still laggy.
By the way I'm experiencing same lags in AOSP and MIUI roms. And I'm using the ICS LWP too.
I'm using stock kernel, for better battery. Must I put another kernel?
Wait for ICS with full UI gpu acceleration..there is always small lag on every single even most powerfull android phone..some users just dont see it..

Any reason why ALL live wallpapers perform much better on my girlfriends Mytouch 4G? Both phones using Launcher Pro Plus and same live wallpapers. On the MT4G, Launcher Pro is much smoother.

Like I said, it's all live wallpapers. I'm not getting any lag, everything is still snappy, just switching/scrolling through screens is choppy with live wallpapers. One the reasons I use Launcher Pro is for the super smooth scrolling.

apparently not
sorry couldn't resist
I use zeam launcher. Thats smooth with live wallpaper..
I just tried out Zeam. You're right, live wallpapers does not slow it down. Too bad scrolling isn't as smooth to begin with though. This tells me that Launcher Pro just performs better on the MT4G.

ADW Launcher EX is good here.
It is not happening any more after switching to adw. It was happening on the stock launcher.

I run any of the live wallpapers and use the stock launcher that came with Froyo on the G2x and I have no problems with the live wallpapers. But when I was using Launcher Pro, it was kinda laggy. I think that Launcher Pro is just not for the G2x.
I run a few of the live wallpapers from maxelus.net ... **** is unbelievable causes no noticeable battery drain and runs smooth. And its pretty sick. Some wallpapers are BS and can make your phone run slow access personal info etc. You need to pretend this phone is a PC and all the no-no' s apply... including dl'g aps and or wallpapers

Any of you guys run the beach or windmill live wallpaper ported over from the Samsung galaxy s 2? I've noticed that my g2x lags quite a bit unless I O'CLOCK the CPU for better performance with either of those LWP on...... also if you could let me know if your battery takes a hit when you let the LWP turn on GPS to get current weather info?

Butter smooth with ADW EX...could be your launcher? ADW EX is hardware accelerated now (since May update) Launcher Pro is not.
Just tried Vortex Galaxy...It's sick! Oh, no lag with ADW EX.
Yes it is Launcher Pro + G2x that doesn't like live wallpapers. I just tried ADWEX and it was nice and smooth. I got a refund after 14 minutes, too bad we can't try it out out longer before we decide if we want to keep it or not.

i personally want to use the original google android ui. so it use less ram and faster.
No, you're stuck with Sense 3.0 until custom ROMs are possible.
download "launcher pro" homescreen replacement till custom roms come out

Is there a way to get like a "sense" widget for the time and weather??
I like the weather and clouds going across the screen, but need the Launcher Pro for the buttons at the bottom..

This is funny... I thought I was the only one who didn't like it. I really thought I was going to, but I find it just gets in the way.
I switched to LauncherPro (which I'm really happy with) and I stopped all the HTC related syncing stuff in the accounts setup. I'm not sure how much was saved, but it didn't seem to help much RAM and battery wise.
FWIW my wife hasn't had any complaints about it, and we both came from stock Android phones.
I can't wait to root this thing...
Did Launcher Pro not lag for you guys? I checked out the demo in the store and Launcher Pro chugged like none other. Who knows what they did to that demo before I picked it up though.
I really like LP. I saw a youtube video of the Sens. running it....looked great to me.
I'm running lpp on my sensation. It's a lot smoother than sense. No lag whatsoever.

I am also running Launcher Pro and it runs great. No lag. On a side note, is it worth the $3.50 to get the 'Plus' version of Launcher Pro?
I installed Zeam to see if it would be slow. It ran fine. I actually noticed that some aspects of Sense shutdown when you use another launcher.
Try ADW Ex just for the mere fact that is supports hardware acceleration unlike LPP and the other homescreen replacements.

yea and stock with stupid widgets cause cant use sense widgets(again) when using lpp or adw or any other launcher
Does using something like adw or a gingerbread launcher slow down the performance of the phone compared to the stock HTC sense and also is there any point in using them
Sent from my HTC Desire S using Tapatalk
nope, they don't slow down much, but Sense launcher is waaaaaaaaaaaay better than any other launcher IMO, but it's a matter of personal choice.

Sry to say, but go launcher & adw have much more possibilities to modify (groups/folders in appdrawer is just one from a few) and go launcher is also an eyecandy and has like sense his own widget set (including skins) for contacts etc.
But like you said it's a matter of personal choice^^

Hey, it's a Desire S, Launchers can't slow us down!
Seriously, I haven't encountered (yet) slowness using launchers. I am only using Go Launcher EX though.
I am a fan of Go Launcher myself, but recently tried Launcher Pro again... and I must say I was blown away... I have Superkids MIUI installed which runs incredibly smooth and snappy and together with Launcher Pro the best combination I ever had on my DS. IMHO Sense is just a waste of space and resources...

Yeah if you want to use a launcher use an aosp rom. Sense will still be running and will also be killing your battery

It's possible with a goldcard, but with this you only can get temp root, that means you have to root it again after each restart.
If your interested in the procedure, look at the index thread.

Check this vid, it has also written instruction on the description.
My phone is rooted and over locked at 1500mghz. I have the stock aosp virtuous Inquisition rom on it and it still lags when I scroll with wallpaper scrolling on. I still have nova launcher on but ounces I took it off and it still would lag when scrolling. I knowbuou might say install another launcher but I don't want another launcher. I want this rom and this launcher to work properly. I known its not the rom because even before this rom my phone would still lag when wallpaper scrolling was on no matter what launcher I used. I just want WALLPAPER SCROLLING THATS NOT LAGGY. Is it a issue with all HTC sensations? This is also my 3rd sensation and it was the same thing with the other ones.
Also I don't have that many Widgets running. Even if I did it still shouldn't stutter. I don't see other phones lag when wallpaper scrolling is on. This issue is making me HATE MY PHONE.

I personally think is the ROM. I used virtuous inquisition 3.5 and it would lag to a crawl. So I decided to flash firmware 3.30 and then move to ARHD 6.3.0. Now 6.3.0 doesn't have the AOSP look and feel that we like so what I did was flash the ROM and then flash Shizlon theme from the theme section, and voila.
No lag whatsoever with Nova and I got the AOSP look that I was looking for.

It can't be the rom. Even with different rom scrolling through the screen causes slight stuttering. Even when I had cm7.1 and had my phone over locked to 1700mghz it still would stutter. Even before I rooted my phone and tried to run different launchers I would see a slight stutter when scrolling past the home screen.

Is there such thing as keeping the wallpaper from scrolling mod? I can't stand frame rate loss when scrolling... And I think it's due to the processor processing both things at once. I'm on clean DE, I'm remember this same exact thing on my infuse and a rom came out that didn't have wallpaper scroll and it was a lot more smooth.
Anyways just wondering if there was such thing.

try the ultrasmooth rossie mod. i have heard some crazy smooth results from people who have used it.
edit: you're on DE you say? then there is an option in apex launcher to disable wallpaper scrolling.
