T-Mobile Samsung Galaxy S II cases? - AT&T Samsung Galaxy S II Skyrocket SGH-I727

Has anyone tried their cases for the Skyrocket?

i would doubt it you have to remember the 3.5 jack is positioned different. other than that the dimensions should be the same.

So is the speaker for the speakerphone, it's on the opposite side.

Not to mention that the phone's speaker is on the opposite side.

What is the small circle on the back?

Hey all,
What is the function of the small indented circle below the kickstand on the back of the TB?
It covers a screw to open the phone.
It's a rubber plug. Probably covering a screw.
Does this cover a screw?! I always thought it covered one of those external antenna ports (like you used to see back in the 90s)...
If you stick a safety pin into the rubber cover then you should be able to easily pop it off and see for yourself.
I'm pretty sure its for an external antenna as a lot of cases have a hole for it.

Dear Larry,
I understand you would like to know what the gray circle is on the back of the Thunderbolt. If you are referring to a piece that is rubber like, this is a cover for a screw that is holding the back speaker under the kickstand into place.

Its like a miniature coax plug for an external cell phone antenna
The plug isn't easy to get out & can be pushed through the hole when reinstalling it so be careful if you get curious & check it out
I was wondering the same thing

I read somewhere that it covers the 2nd Mic used for noise cancelling on calls.
From my mobile power unit.
I like how everybody keeps coming up with wacky ideas when they could just take a pin, remove the cap, and take a picture.

OK, copy that. Thanks for correcting me. Any points for being close?
Captain Obvious observation: the spot in question, the hole next to the 3.5 jack and the twin holes to the left of the rear camera must "do" something. My gel skin has cut-outs for each.
Coax, it is, then. Good, because I've been looking at LTE-compatible antennas.

The twin holes are for the antenna which is on the outside of the battery cover. Inside, you'll see some gold plating, that carries through the holes, and there's more plating on the outside (which is painted over), which forms an antenna. The holes just connect the inside and outside together. There's no reason for a case to have openings there.
Copy. Personally I hardly notice them. I obviously did take notice due to this post. Despite the "bugs" in the TB, it works and that is all that matters. I am just looking forward to it getting better when 4G is active for my home area and the update to Android 2.3.
I heard its its butt hole.

Sounds like a loose back/battery cover.
but no mine does not do this.
Mine does it to if i twist it a little it is actually the battery. It has a little play in it.
mine is creak free
No creaks here
Rock solid is the way I would describe my phone.
No issues with flex on my SR.
My first one does. That was why I exchanged it .

No creaks, sounds like a faulty battery cover as mentioned above
Rock solid is hardly how I would describe any phone this size made out of plastic. The HTC Titan comes close but it's made out of metal. Mine doesn't creak but there is some give if you squeeze it toward the edges. The battery cover is somewhat of an abomination. Put it in an OtterBox Commuter case... problem solved.
Mine does if I bend it a little, but you shouldn't be doing that in the first place. It's strange though, I never noticed until last night, and I'm sure I didn't drop the phone.
No body flex here.
I never noticed it on mine. I even gave the body a gentle twist and didn't notice anything.

It's the battery cover's fault. I took it off and don't hear any sounds when trying to flex the phone.
Any way to fix this? Mine does it and being ocd its driving me insane.

Mine does not make any noise -- but have you considered just getting a case for it? There are some super slim TPU ones that hardly add to the bulk, are still slippery (unlike silicone) and really help protect the phone.
I find mine makes a squeaking noise when I attempt to fold it in half. Anyone able to reproduce this?
Sent from my SAMSUNG-SGH-I727 using xda app-developers app
Nope, mine made a snap noise when folding in half. Did you remove the battery and battery cover?

No issues with mine.
Check your battery cover as that has been never installed correctly every time i remove the battery cover and install it again.

That is one tough phone. I ordered a few thin cases for the phone but since seeing these videos they are probably not necessary. A case would ruin a beautiful phone.
The camera is recessed in the North American version about a mm into the case . Just be vigilant where you set the phone down. I am thinking no case is needed for this phone.
No case or screen protector for me
that's impressive...I wouldn't try it with my iJunk

Just be warned that if it hits the screen the right way, your screen is dead. I'm using a tpu case with a lip to protect the screen a bit. I'd be fine without the case though...
I am still trying to think what the screen reminds me of. The bubbled out effect.

[Q] Plastic ring around the camera

The plastic ring around the camera is making a creaking noise. My first one had the same issue along with creaky ear piece grill. So I exchanged it and amazon sent me a second one. After a while the second phone seems to have the same issue.
Just wondering how everybody else's phones are holding up. It's really annoying sometimes and I really don't want to exchange this for a third piece and then slowly have the same issue on that one too.

First of all I think the ring is aluminum. Also the way the device has been manufactured, it will have some creaks. Still a very sturdy phone. If you'd like, you can take it apart and reglue it back together with gorilla glue and it may solve the creaks
Please don't use gorilla glue on your phone... It foams up brown.

TBH, my phone hasn't come out of the case and screen protector since inside the AT&T store when I bought it on launch day. So even if there was creaking, I wouldn't notice it through my case.

I just pushed on my ring and can get it to make a slight clicking sound. How did you come to notice this? Mine is barely audible.
I refuse to check and see if my ring is creaky. Not gonna do it.
Son of Clicky!
This phone literally snaps into the plastic unibody. I'm not going to worry about the noises. (I hope)
Mine has the same issue with the creaking noise along the very top of the ring. I've considered the opposite of glue: a drop of gun lube along the edge so i don't hear it anymore. I just haven't been bothered enough to try it.

[Q] Get Dust Out of Speaker Holes?

Does anyone have a good method of cleaning out the tiny holes for the speakers? I have a few filled up with particulate and was wondering on the best way to clean them out.
A pin maybe? Or a little vacuum for keyboards?

No problem, only thing is dont get on you screen protector. pulled on a corner on my zagg.
Also note that not all holes go all the way through.
If you look close, a little less than half of the holes(on right side) on both the upper and lower grills are merely cosmetic and don't go all of the way through.
