Does anyone know what sound card the Skyrocket uses? I know the Infuse has a Wolfson, and the SGS2 uses a Yamaha.

Hello everyone,
I have a 3G Samsung Vibrant. In light of the recent launch, I'd like to know if anyone has replaced the 3G modem chipset in the Vibrant 3G with a "4G" modem chipset used in the Vibrant 4G. I am interested in trying to do this if it is feasible.
It seems that, since the phones are identical except for the modem/GPS chips and the FFC (which has already been modded into the 3G Vibrant), this might be possible with the right compliments of kernel drivers for (as intermediate steps) both of the chipsets.
So we extract the new kernel drivers from the 4G Vibrant ROMs, install chipsets from broken or ebayed 4G vibrants into our 3G vibrants, recompile the kernel...etc?
What do you guys think? Possible?

BUMP! I'm curious
No you can't it doesn't work like that unfortunately. IMO you're far far far better off buying a 4G model with a broken screen and swapping out screens or something. The soldering used to attach these chips is impossible to do by hand.

Can anyone with an Infuse 4G comment on out of the box native support for in-call recording (not likely, but maybe)?
Or can someone with an Infuse 4G comment if the in call recorder from the GSM Galaxy S variants will work with the Infuse 4G? see http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=967297
Thanks!
Would love to try it, but i'm not familiar with 3e and there isn't a CWM available for infuse yet.
I've tried and recording and total recall, and they don't work.
Anyone else tried a recorder?
I just put my Nexus S 4G on Boost and I was wondering if anyone else had their Nexus on Boost? So far its been great...same as Sprint..and I know its the same network. I also was wondering if you do what rom your on....

MZ604 (all parts of world) is the Wifi version. there is only a 32GB, not a 16GB.

no sim card slot on wifi model, there is a micro SD card slot though. not sure about 3g/4g version

alot better than the Tab which never got much development and has proprietary connectors. the price KOs the iPad 2. I just got a second xoom for $299

yes, i believe, check around in the development thread

ICS is an automatic update as long as you have the US version of the xoom (or change your software to the US version)

most of your answers are on this sub forum but here are some quick, unresearched answers
If your phone cant tether mobile data then better get the 3g/wifi version. Its very convenient when your not on a wiif hotspot.
It depends on what you need.the ipad and the galaxy tab is just lighter but poor build quality.and slightly better screen compared to xoom.
My xoom can be overclock until 1.6ghz but i dont usually overclock.all apps run smoothly.i even underclock my xoom to 800mhz and its still running smooth.underclocking have significant effect on my battery.
Tegra2's GPU is still one of the best gpu's out on the market.and there are games optimized for tegra2 chipset.the THD games.
almost all gameloft games are available on market.and almost all of them works on xoom.
Greetings,
I have a Skyrocket on T-Mobile in Honolulu, HI running a recent CM9 Nightly and the Blaze 4G radio. I can hear callers perfectly clear, but my callers tell me my voice quality is awful. (I try not to take that personally. ) I have tried several other radios and have stuck with the Blaze 4G as it's the only one that gives me any reasonable data speed. I have not tested the voice quality of the other radios. I am making the assumption that the radio is the system responsible for my poor voice quality.
As such, is my assumption correct? Is anyone else having such problems? Can anyone suggest a possible resolution? Any settings I could tweak?
Thanks in advance,
Bob
