Rooted the phone and that went smooth, so I thought I would try the rom and kernel on my Rogers LTE. Flash seemed to go fine but it would only boot into cwm. Installed my backup and everything else works except calls, I can send and receive txts and use data but calls do not go through, to or from. Any help would be appreciated, thanks in advance.

99% of the time my nandroid backups work perfectly. But every once in awhile they either didn't back up properly or didn't restore properly.
I would try clearing out all user data/various cache and then restore again. Assuming you have already tried rebooting.
Ya, I cleared everything again, flashed, cleared dalvik, and fixed permissions, then everything worked fine.

I know there are a lot of questions about this on XDA, but no one seems to give a straight answer on how to fix this or even prevent it.
I flashed kh2 deodexed today via CWM, everything went fine.. I installed titanium backup to restore my apps, which I did, they worked fine until I rebooted the phone. Then the apps dissapeared, and the home screen shortcuts display the SD card icon and they won't open "Application is not installed on your phone".
Then, I did a wipe to data and cache partitions, but this time I restored apps only (without data) one by one, as I needed. Not as a batch, as I did last time, and was working ok. Though, I thought I'd try the ICBINB kh2 ROM, so I flashed it fine. Restored apps through titanium backup, this time one by one, mostly apps only (some of them w/ data) and was working fine, but suddenly the apps dissapeared again.
I'm about to wipe the phone to fix this... but, is there a way to prevent this from happening again?
Is restoring data from titanium causing this?
Well there has been many direct answers on this topic. Factory reset. restore from cwm, not TB.

hey, didn't know that. **presses thanks button**
I just restored apps via cwm, fixed permissions and it's working. It even got my settings back.. wtf. I was living under a rock all this time.
But is it completely safe? I guess that for GB builds, doing backups and restoring this way may be harmless, but probably not the same story if coming from a froyo rom.
Anyway, thanks a lot.
yea, what i did was flash both 2.2.1 and 2.3+ fresh. then backup each and whatever rom you go to, flash the corresponding backup.
I might do something wrong. First I flashed my infuse with gtgx rom and it works like a charm for good 2 months. yesterda, I backed up my data using titanium user and I flashed it with elliots roger stock gingerbread. After I flashed elliots's stock roger gingerbread, I went to titanium back up and restore the apps. I uninstall couple apps and run a back up on titanium back up again (to clean up unused apps), but after that I could not receive any call. It will ring once and turned off and went straight to voicemail. I cannot receive any call. I can call/text/skype/browse without fail. But once someone calls my number it will ring once and straight to mailbox. I flashed it back to gtgx rom from cwm apps, and restore it with titanium back up (that I created when I was using elliot's). The problem stays. Now I cannot receive any call.
Anyone has any idea to solve this?
I appreciate it.
I would ODIN back to stock and see if that corrects your issue. Only them would I try another custom ROM. Eliminate the issue them move forward. I never assume that moving to another ROM will correct a problem I am having worth a current ROM. A clean instal helps to insure you bring no left over crap into the new ROM.
Just my humble $0.02. Hope it helps.

This should be asked in the question section.
But if you back out to the Samsung Infuse 4G forum, then do a search for your problem you'll find plenty of answers.
DO NOT ask questions in this thread.
Flash back to stock.
you already know not to post questions in the dev thread, so i'll skip the admonishing.
you restored "system data" with titanium back up - you cannot do this. it will result in the exact problems you are describing.
if you would've read the infused thread's OP thoroughly, you would know not to do this. you need to go back to stock and start over.
get in "manage applications-->all-->phone",clear data

i just flashed cm9 on my galaxy s 4g and the data is not working? it keeps doing it everytime i boot up i try messing with the settings i take the sim card out and put it back in to try that still nothing?
what can i do would i have to reflash or try a different rom?
Check if your IMEI is still alive.
If it is re-download CM9, re-flash CM9 (while following instructions of course), don't forget to wipe cache, dalvik and fix permissions.
If it doesn't solve you're problem, flash back to stock.
If your IMEI is dead, restore a backup, if you don't have one I'm sorry you're out of luck.
If IMEI is still alive and you re-downloaded CM9 (from a computer of course) and the problem still persists catch a aLogCat log and send it to the CM9 Q&A or development thread.

Not sure if im the only person with this issue, but here my scenario. I recently odined back to stock, and accepted the OTA from verizon. Did all the necessary steps such as root, unlock, and flash recovery. Now here is where my problem occurs.... If i flash something via clockwork and then clear cache, dalvic, and fix permissions, when the phone reboots if i receive or make a call i get and error com.phone.android crashes. Now i tried restoring and reflashing something except this time i don't clear anything, the phone reboots and everything works fine. I flashed multiple roms and no matter what i do this problem always occurs after clearing and fixing permissions through clockwork. Has anyone had this issue occur?
Just curious, is there a particular reason you are fixing permissions?
Just figured standard practice when flashing anything would be to fix permissions along with clearing cache.

some roms you dont need to fix permissions... Ive never cleared anything after i flashed a rom unless the dev tells you too in the installation instructions.try not to clear anything after you have succesfully flashed it and just rebbot.

Ive been having some issues pop up with my phone in the last few weeks. Sorry but be prepared for a lengthy post haha.
It all started in Dec with the OTA of JB. After than my Maps/Nav constantly force close. I am not the only one with this issue because looking at recent reviews of Maps in the Play store, a lot of GS3 users are experiencing it too.
I made this thread: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2115108 to try and see if there was a fix. Never solved the problem.
My friend was running the latest AOKP Milestone ROM and said his Maps/Nav worked fine. So I rooted, bootloader, recovery and flashed AOKP Milestone. Well Maps/Nav still didnt work. Found out my friend never installed the official OTA to JB and went from ICS to AOKP. So it only lead me further to believe that it was something with the update.
Figured I would wait it out till there was a fix, until I started having another issue. I use Handcent as my primary SMS app. All of the sudden one day my notification ringtone stops working. Was working fine then poof doesnt work. Tried redoing all the settings and got nothing. Uninstalled and reinstalled nothing. Cleared cache, uninstall/reinstall nothing.
So now with this problem persisting for a few days I got sick of it. Thought I should be able to flash an MD5 thru Odin back to ICS, get Maps/Nav working (along with txt tones) and then flash to AOKP. First I flashed I535VRALF2 and Maps/Nav worked fine, flashed AOKP and didnt work. So today I flashed I535VRALG1 and again Maps/Nav/Txt worked fine. Flashed back to AOKP and Maps/Nav didnt work, BUT txt tones did (for a while). Driving from home to work (15mins) somehow my txt tones stopped working again!
Between each flash I would factory reset/wipe cache/dav data ect. Not sure why these problems are being so persistent. Even on the last time back to ICS, I wiped everything in CWM and booted the phone AND did a factory reset from within the phone settings.
Anyone have any ideas? Did accepting the JB OTA just perma F me on Maps/Nav?
No ideas?
I don't run aokp but found this in the faq on rootz: "Fix permissions in CWMR.Uninstall maps updates/clear cache and data."
No idea if it will help but it won't hurt to try.

Ya I tried that already and it didnt work
And Ive also tried running older versions of Maps as well with no results
Try doing a superwipe. Completely erases internal memory. I know some roms have the option, specifically synergy to my knowledge. It is also available as a zip. Just make sure everything on internal you want to save it backed up to external or a computer. A fresh wipe can do wonders.

I did (I think haha). I installed a fresh MD5 thru Odin, then once my phone booted, I used the internal factory reset option to completely wipe the internal storage. Or is that not the same thing?

Try running the mega wipe zip with the Rom on external sd. If you are restoring
Apps, do so without data first to see if everything works.

Will it work on the GS3? That thread is for the Note2
And im running the latest touch CWM and that thread is a bit confusing, it says:
Requirements: You need to have
1. TWRP Recovery installed
Quote:
How to use:
Just copy the required zip to your External SDcard and reboot into CWM recovery. Install the zip and you are good to go!

It says you have to have TWRP recovery but then says boot into CWM, so not sure what to think.
any more ideas?
Anyone else?
