I'm trying to stream some content from the internet using the default browser on my charge. Seems some of the content will work, but most content starts off with an add, and I get an add blocked error and the stream doesn't work.
My wife with an out of the store Inc 2 has no trouble, me it just doesn't work.
Ideas?

Turns out there is an issue with the stock browser as well as the ROM in how it handles Java Scripts and Ad.doubleclick on the charge. All the research I did pointed to that as the problems and some reading about the Inc 2 turned out that some browser tweaks had been made to, thus resulting in the streaming of the content even without Flash installed.
I loaded the Ep4 Deodexed leak and using the Dolphin browser I can stream from the same sites now - yaaaa team

I believe that it has something to do with DRM/Licensing of certain media content, or perhaps it provides user data to Google. Either way, after Freezing it with Titanium, Youtube ceased to function. Both the Standalone App and content from Browsers would no longer play.
It can be re-enabled but it seems to require a restart. Once the process has resumed, searching on youtube, and loading videos is snappy. While it is disabled, the youtube app takes forever to populate the page with videos, trys forever to load videos and then the status bar will move along but no sound or video will play.
I have that disabled and YouTube is still working as usual. Eventually, we'll find out what it is.

That's weird, If I freeze it, it kills youtube. Can anyone else replicate either of our results? Perhaps youtube won't work because I have frozen something else in addition to SWM-C, hmmm.
I'm quite sure it was determined to be related to HTC's OTA system.
Does anyone know how to get icefilms.info working and if its not possible maybe a recommendation for another site that is simple and content rich??
Hello,
in the youtube app i can't watch videos.
Error message is : Unable to connect to server Touch to retry
Downloading the videos works though and in the dolphin browser they play too
i am on CM7 - any ideas how to fix this?
thanks for any help
Hello again,
i tried with JackpotClavin's latest ICS ROM and youtube
app is working there if u choose SD versions of video.
Seems to be an issue with CM7 then?
The YouTube app on CM7 with the stock kernel works perfectly for me, and it has for a pretty good while as well, so I don't think it's CM7's fault, or a version issue. Maybe you should try reflashing gapps (is youtube included among those)? Or clearing the app's data/cache on the app management settings menu, then try watching a video again.
Some other questions that might help: Is your internet connection definitely not the issue? Can you play any other streaming content available on the web reliably?
Good luck!
it's working now! had to allow some more processes in
droidwall (media server, google stuff)
by the way it is not part of the gapps it has to be downloaded
from the android market
thanks for the help!
I would like to send photos and video to my Samsung TV.
I can do it with my Evo3D but I assume that's baked into the Sense UI. I can't see any obvious way on Xoom... any ideas or apps?
Is it sending content via DNLA or uPnP? Not sure if I should be looking for a DNLA client or something - but I suspect DNLA is kinda for media servers not just pushing content
Thanks

Bubbleupnp is best app
Sent from my Xoom using xda app-developers app
couldnt get on with bubbleupnp - dont think it liked my tv
this is working well though https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.skifta.android.app and can browse the phone/tablet from the tv too!
I like Skifta and Plugplayer for sharing local content and acting as a control point, but for 'ShareTo' functionality from within apps, I believe Twonky is the best app.
Any other suggestions?
So I have recently had ultrafast broadband installed (upto 150meg) but find that when I download content like videos or music etc it seems to take forever . I mean with this kind of download speed and album on Spotify for instance should be there really quick right? Sometimes it's taking 20-30-40 mins.
Anyone else aware of any issues around WiFi performance?
