Should with no problem. I've used boot animations from nexus and Droid threads with no problem. Just make sure its named bootanimation.zip
It couldn't find update script :/

I posted this the other day. http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1022687
How are you trying to flash it? Clockwork or RA?
Edit: If you are running a sense rom just rename to bootanimation.zip and put it under system/customize/resource. If on a AOSP rename it and put it in system/media.
RA

I'm running MIUI build 11.09 and now I can't go into recovery mode to update it. When I hit reboot into recovery, it just shows the Samsung logo and never goes past there. Anybody know how to fix this?

Samsung Epic 4G owners who have converted their phones to MTD partition layout can "flash" this in MTD recovery. It temporarily boots CWM5 BML, allowing you to flash modem upgrades without wiping your phones back to BML layout. You may safely ignore the error messages when this CWM starts. This CWM is not written to your phone, so the next time you run recovery it will be MTD CWM.
Requirement: Your CWM recovery kernel must support kexec. CM7 kernels nightly 12+ support kexec.

Interesting, thanks for the heads up.
Worked like a champ, updated to EL30 modem, running MTD with CM7. This is a GREAT idea. Nice work

OK, so this boots a BML CWM recovery for just that flash and does not touch the MTD CWM5 on the phone? That is some fine work my friend!!!!
What do you flash to get back your original recovery?

It is temp booting into this recovery with kexec. IIRC there is also a way to kexec from a PC over USB if you mess up your kernel/cwm.

worked great .thanks!

Could we have a detailed instruction for idiots please or perhaps QBKing could make a video. This is a significant and important piece of development work. Congratulations!

Just used this and it worked just as advertised. Downloaded this and the ei22 to el30 modem delta.
Flashed the cwm bml from sd, phone reboots into cwm and flashed modem delta. Once phone rebooted I'm on el30 no problems!
Thanks as I was far to lazy to odin back to ec05 lol.

Step 1: Boot into the installed (MTD) recovery (3 finger, reboot menu, terminal command - whatever is your preferred method).
Step 2: "Flash" this file (it doesn't actually flash anything, just runs a script that tells the phone to load a different kernel, just like Rom Manager's recovery that boots from the sd card as opposed to being installed in internal memory)
Step 3: flash a modem update, etc - you are in a BML recovery, so use common sense... wait, that will only help 10% of experienced users (just don't do anything that interacts with the internal partitions, aside from the modem - it will most likely just error out, but if it doesn't then it will probably mess up your MTD partitions)
Step 4: ????
Step 5: Profit!
It really is that basic and simple.

Can someone post up the EL30 flashable please?
Sent from my SPH-D700 using xda premium
Tried this on CleanGB-MTD-1.0.5 and ShadowKernel 0.5+ and worked like a champ...saved lots of time not having to ODIN, update, convert reinstall ROM and restore backup.

Awesome! This is what I've been looking for. I didn't want to have to ODIN back.

Hi,
Are there any custom TB rom without 4 in 1 restart/reboot option ? so when I press reboot/restart it restarts the phone right away like TB stock rom.
Thanks.
I'm not sure how experienced you are, but if you take the stock android.policy.jar and put it in your /system/framework folder of whatever Rom you'll get the resault you wanted.

I bought a nexus s 4g with the boot loader unlocked and clockworld mod installed but when I install a Rom and reboot, it goes into the bootloader I'm not sure if it is bricked or what? Help will be appreciated
Is there like an application I can run from the computer while connected USB wise like an RUU (not sure if Samsung have those) through the bootloader
