[CLOSED][ROM]Bone Stock & Stock Deodex ROM's Triumph-Now Resets Splash.img!![CLOSED]
Thread closed because I no longer own this device. The download links no longer work. Sorry for any inconvenience.
i just installed and wifi works but when trying to go online rebuts the phone, also the screen goes black and stays like that for like 2 minutes. And yes i did all the restores available.
Which ROM did you flash? Deodexed or Complete Stock?

Same here it works... weird, this is the fix for me that got the wifi functioning again. But then again, I flashed b_randon14's stock theme zip, not this one.
If you want deodex I would recommend that one, more confirm it working at least right now.
Stupid question perhaps, but will apktool properly decompile and recompile framework-res.apk? I ran into a doozy of a problem trying to do that with somebody else's ROM.
Yeah it decompiles just fine! I have done it a thousand times!
Edited op with the zips that will reset the splash.img back to factory as well!!!
Thanks and I'm going to have to try this one out now.
Is the Android logo text hidden deeper in the system than I originally thought? I've actually seen it on my new phone a couple of times now, after reverting different things. You know, the flashing "android" text...
When there is no boot animation, it reverts to the flashing android logo. Its in the framework Res under assets/images. The boot logo(red Motorola logo) is on the same partition as the recovery image as a splash.img. to flash it I have the recovery mount that vfat partition as sd-ext and copy over the the splash.img its the same way I flash recoveries from cwm.
The bootanimations( red Motorola animated logo then cm splash animation) is locates in /hidden/data/power-on animation.

So I installed the deodexed version and I was able to use mobile wifi tether with barnicale without having to change the MTU for the Motorola Triumph!
Once you change the MTU once on a computer, you never have to change it again... you sure it's not just a residual effect?

I'm quite well aware of that. I did it on my laptop, but not my desktop. but my desktop was able to connect online with the tether. i guess i should try it on another machine to make sure.
Is there any advantage with the deodexed version over the odexed version if your goal is to restore the phone to stock after having another ROM installed?
Selling my Motorola Triumph to a friend - I've been running CM7 since the alpha days, so I need to go back to stock. I still have a nandroid of the stock ROM, but that also has a lot of installed apps, not to mention personal information/passwords. Will the complete stock ROM allow her to activate the phone?

It should.
I know this thread is about a year old, but thanks for the stock files.
I had CM7 running on my daughters Triumph. I finally decided to just put both of my kids on my VZW family plan since the Gnex dropped to $50 each and Virgin Mobile's service is a complete waste of money.
I'm selling her Triumph now and the phone has to be stock in order for the new owner to activate it, so this came in handy.
Thank you very much!
Works perfectly. My girlfriend didn't want a buggy ROM ruining her Candy Crush games so I had to bring her back to stock. Took less than ten minutes! Tanks!
I am trying to get the Nexus Prime Boot Animation to work on my rooted I727 stock rom and kernel.
I have tried placing the bootanimation.zip in both these locations and it doesn't work.
/data/local
/system/media
I just want to get rid of the ATT animation any help would be great.
AT&T has the worst boot animation ever! It would be nice to get that leaked Galaxy Nexus animation on there.
Confirming the locations in the OP doesn't change the boot animation. I've also tried all of the free apps in the market. Ugghh..
This is what happens when Samsung decides to use their own customized boot animation instead of the standard Android method. I'm sure there will be a workaround soon enough...
Searched high and low on how to change boot animation on VZ SGS3.....Besides changing over to custom kernel to use bootanimation.zip, seems that I have to change the bootani.qmp and another file. Couldn't find a clear how-to for this one. CleanRom 2.5 gave me "Samsung" bootanime, but trying to completely debrand my phone, and have Andy piss on Apple on boot...worked fine on the custom kernels, but CleanRom 2.5 uses stock kernel. Help would be super!! What files do I replace in /system/media for boot? How do I convert animation to .qmp file?
(BTW: extended battery with extended cover gives the phone some thickness and weight - not as slippery - back cover debranded and with 4100mA have 2hrs 26min talk time, 3hrs 42min screen, 15hr 28min standby, not plugged in since 7am, still on 42%!
Thanks

Works on the SCH-i535. Followed the steps, though the animation gets stuck in a loop and doesn't boot the phone.
Ideas??
That file format (qmp) is owned by Samsung, so you really are stuck unless the kernel is changed or you buy their imaging software, I would like boot ani's and to change the splash, but both are kernel related, hope this helps!
The link posted is to script that will change the bootani, some got utilities to work, I get stuck in loops.

It will only change it if your kernel supports it, ie beans & synergy. Being on essentially a stock kernel, clean 2.5, it won't work
edit:tried it and got loops also
I know it's been asked before and there's been no answer. So I'll ask again. I'm running Bean's v6 and while it's a great ROM (I think SD Card usage is high because of my Nandroid blobs) I wanted to tweak the boot animation to that of a regular Verizon Galaxy S3. From a stock OTA install of a Galaxy S3, I transferred bootsamsung.qmg and bootsamsungloop.qmg to System/Media on my phone while renaming bootanimation.zip to bootanimation.bac. Thing is now I only get the default ANDROID boot animation. When I check Data/Local (the other boot animation location) I find nothing in the folder. I am using the kernel from here. So while the kernel supports boot animations, where can I find a working zip of the original boot animation for the Verizon Galaxy S3?
I believe Clean ROM thread has the stock one meant for your kernel. Look in the op

Thanks for the response! However, after flashing the zip found in the second post here, http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1832070 I only have a blank screen after the 'Samsung Galaxy S III' static screen. On the plus side I think my phone is booting a bit faster. On the negative side it isn't the original (or any) boot animation that came with my phone. I'm cool with this too... any other recommendations on how to get the original animation back? At this point, at the very least, I'm thinking I'll need to reflash the kernel to get back custom animation support.
I'm looking to put the original Verizon 4G/LTE boot animation with the music and all back into my phone that's using CleanROM 6 r2. I'm looking for either a flashable zip file, or a bootanimation.zip file that I can put in /system/media with permissions 644. I tried working with the one from here that looked like a good bet, and all I got was a blank page during boot:
http://www.scottsroms.com/showthread.php?2668-Kernel-Request&
Did anyone else have any luck with flashing the above boot animation, or have a source for one that might work? I've been looking for some time, and haven't found anything that works yet.
Really like CleanROM, and really liked the original Galaxy S3 boot animation as well...no accounting for taste, I guess *smile*.
Thanks very much.
