MyTouch 4G Video Camera - myTouch 4G General

Anyone has an idea why the camera is so slow at video recording ? It's impossible to record something with action because its laggy. I was looking at my girlfriends Samsung galaxy s 4g and the video recording is smooth, u can shake the camera and it will still be smooth .
EDIT: here is a video of the mytouch recording sample

Here is the Samsung galaxy s 4G
Sample. I'm sure u guys can notice the difference in frame rates

I don have that problem mm maybe cus on my rom i can change the video bitrate. What are your video recording settings are u recording in HD 720 or widecreen ?
HTC Glacier (Black) - Virtuous Unity 2.39/Kernel V9 Unity/Beats Audio/Good Screen/Good Emmc

HD 720 on both phones and the smoothness feels great on the Samsung but mytouch feels like frame rate drops

Try using virtuous unity 2.39 camera app it has birate and hdr effect as well

I'm using dereks 3.5 Rom . But I remember when I was stock before I rooted it was the same way. Frame rates suck .

Doesn't make sense... are you in a dark area or a well lit area? Using the LED Flash or not? the only reason I could see for ****ty framerate is bad lighting, but other than that the 30fps looks pretty damn good, even with fast moving elements.

[Q] sense 3.5 Camera app that works on Sense 3

Anyone have mobed apk file of the 3.5 camera that will work on 3.0? I saw that it has a lot of new features, and to be honest the stock camera that comes with sense 3 has been somewhat disappointing coming from a Samung Vibrant.

+1 i agree, the vibrant camera was very nice, sense camera is very nice as well.
lol why not just use a 3.5 rom?

Well it's like this. I'm waiting for the nightly of CM7 to start, but until then I'm trying to see what else is out there. I really miss the panoramic shots in camera mode and in camcorder the ability to be able to pause recording was priceless! I mean why wouldn't that be a option on every video recording app I have know idea, but it's not.

ICS Camera Released on Market

ICS camera has been released on the market, same with browser.

Not official. Has ads.
I haven't seen any ads..installed and have been testing for last hour.
What's nice is camcorder in it. You can double the bitrate, so for 720p you can get respectable results up around 12-13mbps.
Sound is mono- but actually sounds fine.
Thanks for pointing out the camera!
The one linked is the ad version. I guess one could upgrade to the full for .99.
does not focus properly on close up objects. picture quality pales in comparison to stock htc camera. unless im missing something?
I agree for stock pictures, I'll continue using HTC's camera. But for camcorder, I'll use this for now as video is much better since its not nearly compressed. You can set the bitrate to ultra which will give you roughly 14-16 mbps instead of HTC's 5 mbps for 720 video.

How you sets to over 10mbps in video recording in ICS camera??
I can only record the video in qHD with X2 bitrate which is 4mbps+.
the ICS camera really take good quality in video recoding,
but the uncapable of tap-focus just disapointed me.
Hope HTC can upgrade the feature of stock camera.
I go into settings, select 720p and select bitrate x2. There is a thread over in the galaxy nexus forums about this. I believe the camera reads what bitrate you have in your media-profiles.xml and doubles it.
Tap to focus would be nice, but since using i haven't had any focus problems.

if it's not a problem, can someone post the APK? I can't download it from where i am at (South East Asia). sucks, i'm blocked from a lot of cool apps.
crashes on 2x bitrate in 1080p....
Anyone feel like share the apk, it seems it doesnt support my device when i try to download it on Play :S
This is what MediaInfo tells me about the video-bitrates:
720p:
Android Revolution HD 6.5.1 XE Stock Cam: 5094
Camera ICS with bitrates set to "Normal": 8038
Camera ICS with bitrates set to "2x": ~16076 (shows 16MBit)
1080p:
Android Revolution HD 6.5.1 XE Stock Cam: 10100
Camera ICS with bitrates set to "Normal": 12100
Camera ICS with bitrates set to "2x": App crashes!!!
So this is a nice Videocam-App for those who want to use higher bitrates than the HTC-locked standard ones. The quality is much better
I've been searching for such a possibility for long time now!
For me it is really laggy laggy crappy

Strange, I have more options there. You have only white balancing and flash options..I have also the resolution (720p 1080p, ...), a time lapse option and some effects.

Yep, I tried Amaze Mod - when I was on 2.3.*rom.
And compared results on my PC - AmazeMod did better.
Now I have 4.0 rom (Elegancia) and as far as it goes - stock cam isn't that bad.
I like the stock camera of my HTC Sensation better than this one on 4.0.3

HQ camera for sensation!

What's the + of this? And having a picture no compresed 30 to 35 mb is kinda holing me back to flash it
Sent from my HTC Sensation 4G using XDA
Less compression means higher quality. Higher quality means larger file size.

ICS camera

Can anyone fix the brightness in camera app ics? Coz when I use camera gingerbread (stock Rom) the bright screen went to max it easy to take a pic in the sunlight.. but after I upgrade to ice (ARHD 6.6.5) that feature is gone. Is there anyway to bring it back? Thanks

ICS VS JB Camera quality

Hey guys, which version of android gives you better photos? I switched from cm10 to hyper nonsense with sense camera, and it seems to give me better photo quality, though it could just be the placebo effect. I've never actually done a side by side comparison, and any feedback regarding this would be great

IIRC, Hyper NonSense is a hybrid/non-Sense build but still uses the Sense framework and camera. and in my opinion, the picture quality was always better using Sense rather than AOSP...something to do with the picture resolution and camera UI
I agree, that's what keeps me on sense roms.
Currently I have come away from sense 4 and gone back to sense 3.6 (Elegancia) as, although sense 4 is nice, 3.6 is faster and smoother. Also flashed the amaze camera mod and its great
Sent from my HTC Sensation XE with Beats Audio Z715e
ARHD ICS with SENSE 3.6, that's it....
No one could give better Image quality than STOCK
Sent from my HTC Sensation Z710e using xda app-developers app
The general consensus seems to be that sense 3.6 camera is superior. How about sense 4.5? Does anybody have any side by side comparison of sense vs aosp or different versions of sense? Just curious
Sent from my HTC Sensation using xda app-developers app
The camera in Viper ROM is good and has nice tweaks like being able to use the voume buttons to capture picture or video directly, but I think the picture quality is still that bit better with the 3.6 camera or amaze camera mod.
