External Speakers dont work. - myTouch 4G General

Hello, my mytouch has external speakers that are not working. The sound works fine with headphones, but not without them. For anything. What could be the issue?

If the speakers never work at any time, the issue is most likely dead speakers . You will need to use your insurance to get a replacement through Tmobile, Asurion or HTC.

Speaker doesn't work

My vox it's three months old, from one week I started to notice a very disturbing behavior. People are able to hear me but I can''t hear them. It seems like the internal speaker is flawed. If I use the miniUSB head phones it works fine and If I turn on the conference speaker it works too. Otherwise it just doesn''t work anymore. I have soldered directly speaker's wires on the board but the problem it's the same. What can I do?
Please, nobody can help me? I have tried also to add reg key wm6SoundFixRegistryImport but the problem it's the same. I'm sure that other people have this problem.
this seems like a hardware problem which you can get serviced by sending your phone to htc.
No, I can't because I haven't warranty. I'm sure that isn't a hardware problem because I can hear a little rustle.
i m facing exactly same problem as well. spearkerphone works fine but earphone do not worki.. if u find any solution then let me know too...
THe problem it's the speaker, I tried another from a motorala and it work! Where Can I find htc parts?
can u guide me how to open the htc phone to reach earphone speaker u mentioned?

I only tried my Apple inear buds for music/podcast and unlike with the Samsung SGS, it worked just fine. Mind you, didn't try for actual calls tho. What doesn't work with it?

Darn. I found out that the sony MDR-EX38iP are only partially compatible. Not sure about it's mic, but the volume controls don't seem to do anything.
I'll be testing Wal-Mart's no hassle return policy in the morning.
I'm having some trouble finding a hands free solution that's got music, and volume controls, a mic and stereo in earbuds. Anybody know of such an animal?
There's two other's that I've yet to try: the Skullcandy Titan headset, and the one's from JVC with the marshmallow earbuds.
The headset earphones that came with my DZ are better than the ones that came with my Dream, at least they stay in my ears, but I sure miss having volume controls as part of the remote.
walmart took them back, plus i tried and returned the scosche tapline headset because it didn't work either. well, at least the volume controls didn't work.
Has anyone got the SonyEricsson MH-810 Stereo Headset for Xperia? these might work since they're made for the android platform, not iOS.
Might be an app
I had trouble getting a headset with a mic to work at first. I thought the jack might be defective, but regular earbuds worked. I also noticed that it detected if I had a headset with or without a microphone. (the icon on top would change)
Then my husband told me he saw on some forum, that there's a known problem with headphones with a mics, if you have another music app installed other then the native one.
I had previously installed Winamp, so I uninstalled it and now both the HTC & the Apple headset with mic work fine.
Might be worth it to give it a try, if you have a another music player installed.

so @Milady_Odessa, with your apple headset, you can:
*answer & initiate calls
*change volume up and down
can you be more specific regarding which apple headset you are using, or possibly a picture?
Sorry I should have specified, it's the regular earbud/mic combo that came with the iPhone. It essentially does the same thing as the headset that came with my Z phone.
It can answer & adjust volume, turn on your media player. It can't initiate calls, but it can dial/call back the last number that called you by double-clicking on the middle button.

Thanks for elaborating, and the picture! hmmm, still not idea.
I would like to have the same functionality I have with the headset that I got for my Dream.
I thinking of getting a set of sony ericsson mh810 off ebay for about thirty dollars, but I would like to confirm that that the voice dialer / search feature works first.

What about the volume control at the point where the cord splits?
John
I bought the HTC HS U350. This allows you to plug in your own earphones in to the mic piece. So far it works great but i do miss having controls for skipping music and also volume. I guess it will do until i find something better
I have the G2 with the Desire Z ROM and the iPhone headset that came with my 2G iPhone and the replacement one I bought about a year after are both working. After plugging them in I see a headset icon, and I tested using the Voice Recorder app and on a phone call, mic was working fine. As far as I know nothing was touched on the ROM from the shipped other than pre-rooted things like busybox, superuser, etc.
I've just tested Skullcandy Full Metal Jacket headset which is designed to work specially with iPhone - music sounds good, stop-play button works (with 1 second lag though), calls are good as well - mic works fine, you can answer and stop the call by pressing the button on the remote.
I tested with Desire Z and Desire.
I was hoping to get Klipsch S4i to use as headset, hopefully they will work with Desire Z

Anyone tried Griffin Smarttalk mic adaptor?
Hi,
Has anyone tried the Griffin Smarttalk adapter?
http://www.amazon.co.uk/Griffin-Sma...LBEG/ref=sr_1_2?ie=UTF8&qid=1291378019&sr=8-2
I'm particularly interested to see if the skip functionality works with HTC's music player?
Thanks,
Ash
Hi all
Anyone thought of using Sony mw600?
I only had this little marvel for 3 days (fone only 10 days) and I dare say it works beautiful.
It takes/makes calls without a glitch. It even displays the callers number ( didn't manage to make it display contact name yet, though)
Also it controls nicely my poweramp app, does prev/next, play/pause, and volume. It's got in ear detachable headphones, and it uses same microusb interface for charging as our lovely phones
All of this for around £30 of eBay!
It's not bad, is it?

HTC Sensesation NO sound at all

Hey guys, a friend of mine bought the Sensation 4G, but the problem is that it has no sound/audio at all, Can't hear Any music/ movies on the speaker and on headphones, no rings, you can make call but you can't hear anything and the other person can't hear you either so the speakers and the mic doesn't work, other than that the phones work great, but the audio problem, I've taught it was a os problem and I factory restore it, with no luck, then I flash it to the Sensation XE but still no luck, so is it a Hardware problem? do any of you guys have the same problem is there any fix for it?
Anyways thanks a lot.

So it "works great" aside from the fact that the phone doesn't function as a phone...
Yeah, I'd get it replaced. Call HTC.
probably there is a sound card in phone like we have in our computer... some IC might have burnt... repairing that IC wud be best option if your phone is not in warranty..

Speakerphone Mic not working but regular calls are fine

I have the OnePlus One and cracked my screen and went to a local phone repair shop to get it replaced. Since then whenever I'm on speakerphone, people can't hear me (or I sound like I'm whispering). And when I put it back on regular call-mode the mic works fine. Is there a way to reroute the mic? I feel the other mics may be damaged. I already tried going into some of the rooted settings and increasing volumes by changing the system files, and to no avail. Does anyone know of a method like that? Or am I doomed to buy an earpiece?
Thanks

Audio Problems Through Headphone Jack

I plugged in my headphones to the phone and heard horrible static/hissing in the background, particularly when the volume is over halfway. I've tried 4 different connections (to my car stereo, to my headphones, to an external speaker, etc) and they all sound equally awful. I really hope I don't have a defective unit... This isn't normal though, right? Anything I can try to do to avoid an RMA? I'm rooted, bootloader unlocked, on PureNexus with EX kernel. No audio mods.
Also, just two notes:
1) I am 100% sure the cable is plugged in all the way.
2) I have no issues with the speaker (which tends to be what people have issues with on this phone, ironically). Audio had no distortion through speaker, but through the headphone jack its horrendous. I can't even listen to it it's so bad.

Unfortunately (fortunately?) that's not my issue. I can hear music, it's just terrible sounding due to the hissing I'm the background. It's as if the cable is only half plugged in (but it's not). Thank you for searching though!

Google has admitted the audio distortion issue being reported in its Pixel smartphones is an hardware problem, and it looks like the company is issuing replacements for customers. The audio distortion issue was first reported in December when a user named Mark Buckman had posted about the same.

Wasn't Mark having issues with his internal speaker when headphones were NOT plugged in though? I think those are different issues. My audio is fine at full blast, as far as I can tell, with no headphones plugged in. It's just when I plug something into the headphone jack that I hear the problem. I'll try his piano and see if I can reproduce his issue though. Maybe I just haven't tested the internal speaker hard enough.
EDIT: Grr... I do have the other problem too! Shown clearly by the Perfect Piano app... Well thank you for leading me to finding that out!

Lots of people have a problem with the speaker. I've had 3 replacements with various faults and all have had the speaker issue. It's been reported that its a software issue, and will be resolved in an update..... Hopefully.

Weird. I spoke to Google today and 5 minutes after describing the problem, they told me to get a replacement through Verizon (that'll be fun).

Google can do the replacement too. I opted for that route because I'm hopefully more likely to receive one that I can unlock the bootloader on.

They will, but it will leave me without a phone for 2 weeks. They won't ship until they receive mine since it's through Verizon.

Did you try cleaning out the headphone jack with an electronic cleaner/compressed air? Dust could be a factor.
(Please correct me if these aren't the ways to clean a headphone jack)

It's not only the headphones jack I found out though. It's also the speaker when the headphones aren't plugged in. So apparently I have a jacked up phone, sadly. I may try the compressed air for fun though.
